Usually I have problems with historical liberties and writers who obvious never cared, but in this case this movie was so funny it's IMO the best movie about William Shakespeare. Anonymous and Shakespeare in Love were just bad- this film is ridiculously silly and more Life of Brian than Rome.
hi museum gang!!! thank you for stopping by the channel. if you’re interested in more, I have extra details and notes that didn’t make it into the video on my website (link in description) and I have another video all about Horrible Histories if you need some more Six Idiots content in your life 😊
FYI Sonnet 18 wasn't aimed at Shakespeare's wife, but the 'Fair Youth', a young man. I know in the film he addresses it to Ann, but in reality its for a potentially real, potentially fictional person. In fact, iirc, none of Shakespeare's sonnets are devoted to his wife.
enjoyable little comedy. but the most funny thing about it is its about as historically accurate as the orthodox 'history', which is a complete joke. its pretty much accepted by independent historians these days that shake-speare was a pseudonym of edward de vere
@@MimiMortmain they are probably all right to some extent. a multiple authorship under the lead /main author, edward de vere has now been broadly proven, hammered out over time. the riddles in the sonnets dedication page and shakespeares fake grave at stratford have been solved. the stratford dude was a red herring, most likely intentionally created, by ben johnson and the two earl brothers, decedents of de vere, that published the massively expensive first folio. check out oxfordian theory. its much more compelling than most sceptics imagine.
Woooooaaaah there lassy the Spanish Armada lost to a storm the English had nothing to do with it at this time England had no chance in hell to survive I wonder why the Spanish didn’t just befriend the scots and Irish since England was friends with Portugal 😢

there have certainly been a lot of alternative theories surrounding such a famous playwright!
