This is a good video and I have referred a few people to it. However, there are two things about the pairing process that could be improved:
1.) When talking about turning off the processor at the start of the pairing process it looks like you merely removed it from your head. Ditto for "turning on" your processor later - it looks like you merely put it back on your head. Two people I shared this video with imitated those obvious motions without actually turning their processors off and then back on again ... so of course they were unable to pair their processors. Show people how to turn their processors off ... and how to turn them back on. Personally, I just disconnect and reconnect the batteries.
2.) Pressing the pair button on the back of the TV Streamer just once only works if you want it to use the first pairing channel. Your processors have 3 pairing channels you can use and if you want to use, for example, channel 3 then you need to press the pairing button 3 times. This is important because people might already have things like Mini Mics or Phone Clips paired to their processors and they need to make sure the TV Streamer uses a different pairing channel than those devices.

Thanks James! Excellent video easy step-by step instructions. Prior, I was about to give up connecting the TV streamer. Manual was too complicated to follow (at least for me).

Thank you for your video! We set this up today using your video as the directions in the pamphlet by cochlear were not written well and the font size must be a 1 as it was so hard to read as well.

Make sure TVs are adjusting with mount TV to walls that can block the cords from Cochlear TV Streamer to connect because I was confused that my TV’s TV mount is blocking the cords from connecting.

I have kanso2 implants, when I was reading through the guide, it didn’t really give me much info about pc. I’m wondering if that’s possible (I’m a gamer and use discord a lot)

I have the N7. Can you please show a video on how to match the cochlear implant mic and tv streamer mic perfectly? As you stated we can get a tv streamer in our upgrade kit which I did for the tv where I’m sat with my family. All is great with it but when I’m with my family I find the volume of the tv streamer too loud to hear my family so I turn the volume of tv down but then it’s too low. I know the mic volume also has something to do with it - but it’s finding the best level so I can hear everything end everyone. Can you advise? Thank you

Adjust the volume of the TV so that it is comfortable for everyone else. Then adjust what you hear through the TV Streamer so that it is comfortable for you. There are 3 ways to adjust the volume of what you hear from the TV Streamer:
1.) the buttons on top of the TV Streamer
2.) The Smart App on your phone.
      3.) The Cochlear remote control.

Thank you for reaching out. Yes, the TV Streamer can be paired to your Nucleus 6 Sound Processor. Here's a link to a video that shows how to do it. bit.ly/2IxIJyF

Yes. You just have to be a little quicker during the pairing process: turn both processors off before you start the pairing process then after you press the pairing button on the back of the processors you will need to turn both processors back on quickly.

Once you have been out of range of the TV Streamer ( or Mini Mic) for about 5 minutes the connection is broken. That does NOT mean you need to go through the pairing process again - just use your phone or your Cochlear remote control to select that sound source again.

What's the fidelity for dialog compared to the minimic? I had one for my single Power 5 and the battery depleted quickly and the sound wasn't terrific.

    • @CochlearAmericas
      @CochlearAmericas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Jeff, the TV Streamer does offer the option to connect via RCA connectors as well as TOSLINK (if available on your TV) which can provide better sound quality for our recipients. Any time one of our hearing devices is streaming from an accessory it does put additional demand on batteries and may cause these to be depleted faster than using normal hearing over the built-in microphones.

It depends on your TV. With some TVs you can use the TV's setup menu to tell it to output sound to both the built-in speakers and to the audio ports on the back of the TV. If your TV is connected to a sound system your options are probably broader - most sound systems have more than one set of audio output ports so you can connect your TV streamer to one pair of ports and speakers to another pair.
If you only have one set of ports then just go to a computer or electronics store and buy Y-shaped splitter cables.

Thank you for reaching out. For Nucleus 7, press and hold the button for 5 seconds or you can disconnect the battery. Both of these will turn the sound processor off.
