The thing is dear Carl, and first; I'm happy for your turnaround and family! But... why do you think people are sceptical..? Could it be that your new podcasts miss some 'soul' stuff..? A pastor would talk about God, redemption, Jesus, repentance, tears in the secret place etc.. No mentionning of that at all. And another thing: You committed adultry, big time! Just say it and don't hide behind: 'I was broken' We all are broken!!! There is no good answer presented on: How can a pastor commit adultry? Yes, your childhood trauma was horrible, but a pastor should know the Holy Spirit and that Jesus is the healer. So.. your falling makes people question how pure your faith and relationship with Jesus really was... People are questionning the Christian faith! That's really bad.. Your falling was a stain for ALL pastors and churches all over the world! The devil liked your sins. It makes people distrust the church. Address that! You followed the spirit of lust, you let the jezebel spirit in... Don't tell me it was not about sex too.. You listened to the devil's voice. You knew very well what you were doing,.. YOU chose it! Just be open about that! But you don't... It all looks an appearance thing... A thing Hillsong is so good at... They bowed for the devil's plandemic plan and closed the doors of the church... Hillsong and you need the Holy Spirit in my opinion (we all do); the spirit of TRUTH!!! You hide behind being a victim... That is why people are sceptical. We don't see your real faith, that's why we are sceptical. Great that your family is fine and that you want to be good again. It's not about that!!! It's not about you! I pray you get what I mean and that you and your family may get to know the Holy Spirit more. God bless you!
Once again Christian’s will fall for this nonsense and scam. All glory to the therapist. So tired of Christians putting these people on the pedestal and looking at them for what only the Holy Spirit can give .. He is our council we get our wisdom from Him alone. No mention of the Holy Spirit. Sad Once again reminder these people are hungry for power and control.. they had too much of it and now they want it back. Please ask the Holy Spirt for discernment.. don’t fall for another scam.
My comments keep getting deleted.. they only want praise and worship for themselves so anyone giving anything negative is taken out. Please read all the comments it’s all glory to carl and laura. Once again they want to control the narrative.
I never liked Carl Lenz as a pastor/church leader. I could see through the front as many could. I'm loving the honesty and realness of these podcasts and can't believe I now like the man. You will reach more people as a fallen and restored child of God than you ever did as the man at the front. They are rarely what they are supposed to be and everybody knows. Laura is amazing and you are both blessed to have each other having come through the fire. God bless you both.
I agree, if he has a weakness in that area keep it humble, keep it low key for the kingdom and the sake of salvation. Be great in the kingdom forget about being famous on earth. I could see it coming a mile away the fall - with the six pack out & pants low - I knew it was only time.
Totally agree I pray God will use their lives to help others to know there is hope and restoration when we become surrender to Christ!! Alleluia for his unfailing love!!
Both Carl and Laura are gifted speakers, presenters and savvy media people. I am really missing Jesus Christ, Prayer, Scripture and that powerful work in their lives the past several years. Maybe they will talk about it in future episodes.
This is the best Christian content I've seen in decades. Please keep going. The church needs to rediscover how to be raw and authentically human again 🙏
Proverbs 6:16-19 [16] There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: [17] Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, [18] A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, [19] A false witness who utters lies, *And one who spreads strife among brothers.* Luke 18:9-14 [9] And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: [10] “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. [11] The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. [12] I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ [13] But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ [14] I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Romans 14:10-12 [10] But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. [11] For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God.” [12] So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God. Be well and be at peace.

I wish people were as supportive when we fall as much as they are for the comeback. Congrats Laura and Carl. Rooting for your marriage and you as individuals in your marriage.
Many pastors are watching this hoping they could have just a smidgen of this much freedom and transparency but are shackled due to pride amd titles. I really hope this inspires people to live freely for the sole purpose of Jesus Christ and His Glory. No frills and hidden agendas.
I have grown to love and respect you both so deeply through each of these episodes. This kind of authenticity, humility, and honesty is what the church so desperately needs. From the depth of my heart, thank you.
As someone who was also been in ministry for over two decades, I’m thrilled that this is happening. So awesome to see the both of you moving in this way of healing and looking forward to seeing how the ministry will grow. This is much needed now.
@@rylocblood33 I see two people and a family who was on the brink of destruction are now coming back and using their story to help others and reveal the saving power of Jesus .
I agree with this so much. satan is working hard to destroy marriage and the church sits by apathetic or affirming the destruction. Relying on Christ first is the most important.
@@KB-iu2jh So where is your support for that in scripture ? The Bible is full of faulty ministers who were restored by grace and Mercy to have successful ministry. David went through 15 years of development and process and still made major errors . I’m in no way condoning compromise and there needs to be strict discipline and restoration, but to say that they could never go back into ministry is just not biblical .
I have never seen such a raw, authentic podcast.Talking about their sex lives post infidelity! Nobody has done it.I didnt trust him,but I do now.The world needs this. His wife is an angel,a true Christian.Bravo to these two,God bless them and their family.
Mad respect for you both. What the devil ment for destruction, God has turned into good. God cannot be beat. Blessings to you, Carl and Laura as you write new chapters in this journey of life and faith.
I got divorced 15 years ago after 16 years of marriage. Because my husband cheated. Our marriage didn't make it. I have so much respect for Laura. I know better than anyone what it feels like to be cheated on. But she persevered. It's wonderful how honest you are about this. That helps a lot. There is not always understanding, especially among Christians. Thank you for your honesty. And Carl, it is so special what you went through. That is not self-evident. You chose to go this way. Respect! God bless you guys.
Damn give it up for his wife ✨💯Actual angel. Clearly super humble to stay married to him. Many women would have walked from the humiliation alone. I hope her action bring a life long humbleness to him. He really hit jack pot marring such a beautiful women inside & out. It’s grace alone why she’s still there. Adultery these days are not seen to be as appalling as what it is, because the world does it. It’s HUGE! She doesn’t owe the man anything after that act, it’s pure utter grace. If you don’t agree - go argue with the bible
Amidst cancel culture and the hopeless narratives floating around that say people can’t change, restoration / healing can’t happen… this is immensely helpful and will shine like a bright light of hope in our world today!
I came to the first episode expecting the classic watered down cheap grace discourse, and I’m praising God to be absolutely mistaken!! These are ✨GOLDEN✨ and I’m in love with the Lentz family now. Truth heals! No shortcuts.
OK, I’m on the bandwagon now. I was keeping my distance, but, now I’m on. I am so grateful that God could trust you two with this. Thank you. Y’all were made for this. First time I saw Carl Lentz at another church’s event and he prayed, I looked across and said, that’s my pastor. The first person that ever made me feel like I could belong in the body of Christ. And I left everything behind to move to New York for him to be my pastor. Carl, what made you great before this whole thing happened is what makes you great for this. What makes you qualified to carry this to God’s kids. There was no one else that could do this. No other duo. What made y’all great before is what made y’all capable now. And I don’t just mean the favor and the grace of God and His wonderworking power, because that’s stopped without our faith in agreement. I mean your quirks, your personalities, your tendencies, your authentic yes, your brokenness, your everything. You give Him everything. This is so healing. Thank you. And thank you for giving her the spotlight too.
Always in tears after every episode. Your transparency is like a gift! As a pastor's daughter who's had my own battles with sin + shame, I'm SO grateful for you both. Keep going!
Laura is the strongest and most loving Christian! What a model for the rest of us! What a hope for this broken world, staying and fighting for her family and restoring her marriage. I have never been a Carl fan and I have viewed each episode skeptically, thinking that he now exploiting his wife and children to relaunch his career. Carl, you got to me on this episode. I am believing in you, so please don’t let us down. Please be that model for us guys. Cheering you all on. May God continue to bless you all. He is faithful, even when we are not.
If you want it FIGHT FOR IT. This is an extremely powerful moving conversation between 2 strong people. Not leaving their family unit behind and moving on from controversy and willing to fight for the relationship. SO INSPIRING
Thats very humble and gracious of Karl to take the responsibility for those relationships being lost for Laura, but man its also on her friends. As a woman there is no way I would bail on my sisters if their husband was cheating on them, even if he was my pastor, in face especially if he was my pastor! So good for Karl for taking the responsibility but man her friends really let her down, God bless her.
People in ministry especially can learn from this. I have never seen anyone who has fallen REALLY take responsibility. It's never been this honest. Yes we need to be better friends. This is something I am going to keep in mind. Thank you for your vulnerability. God bless you abundantly.
I am only 19:26 minutes into this podcast...and I am reminded the sin we do is NOT for ourselves alone. It is to also guide others in Christ not to make the same mistakes while also highlighting lessons learned and having transparency. I LOVE that and I love this honest talk. Glory to God!
As some one who has been in the church my whole and got married and divorced in church due to my husband sexual sin, which then lead to a criminal record, that lead to broken family with two traumatised teenage children which I then I had to raise alone, your story and its honesty about the church life and how they do you when something goes wrong as been totally healing for me. Thank you, thank you, for sharing and opening up your lives and being so real and honest. Thank you for letting Christians know we all need therapy, its the only thing that stopped me from losing my mind when my marriage came crashing to ground and following the collateral damage that one person's sin can have on a family, the church and the world. I took a break from therapy but I need to go back now because I am having to deal with my children's fall out from the marriage down and the manner in which it broke down. If my ex had been honest about his childhood SA, our marriage could have survived and we could have gotten help but he hide it from me and never ever told be about it, until it blew up our marriage and brought shame to us all. I am so happy that your whole family has had time to heal and you are ready to help others. Love you all and keep ministering.
Your transparency and honesty are so refreshing and appreciated. I’m inspired to allow the Lord to help me process shame I’ve walked in for over 20 years. Blessings to you both and your kids!
Jesús is barely spoken about yet Jesus is completely evident in every second of your podcasts. I love you guys so much. I am grateful for your lives. And I am so happy to see your ashes turning into the most beautiful crowns. ❤
The intentionality of taking years to heal and process (on both sides) things before coming out to the public is a top tier move. It’s so more incredible to be able to tell your story when you are healed/healing rather than while you’re hurt/hurting. 🙏🏾
You have no idea how much this helps me. I left a toxic marriage, but I can give language to what I was feeling. Laura you are such an inspiration to me,Carl a lot of men can learn from you.Thank you for your transparency and allowing many of us,to heal through this.
THANK YOU for sharing and speaking the TRUTH in LOVE. Thank you for embracing the light of Christ (Jh 8:12; 1 Jh 1:5). We are so PROUD of each member of the Lentz family. Thank you Jesus ✡✝🕎. Much love from South Africa xxx
Man I just want to say I am so proud of these 2 people. When I heard what happened to them I prayed and hoped they would get through it and punch the devil in the face and they did !!!! Glory to Jesus This is such an amazing testimony and it’s being used for the better of humanity God bless you both
"Where Christianity gets murky is the legislation of conviction." This is absolutely right. I appreciate this series and the unmasking of religion! Faith is more than practicing religion, it is also works, pursuing the heart of the father which is in all aspects reconciliation!
carl, many people took issue with you before due to your arrogance. it is so refreshing to see the unmistakable grace and humility in your life. laura, your grace and character is on full display. praying the lord blesses both of you immensely and opens new doors to share the healing power of our forgiveness in christ. may he be glorified in your story!
I cried rivers at the end! Love the rawness of the conversation! Praise Him’ proud of what He is doing in u 2 and that u are willing to go through in obedience. True Christianity finally!
Don't know you both but as someone who was at Hillsong many many years ago with Carl as pastor to seeing you both now, God is so Faithful, He is so Kind, He is so Gracious, and biggest love to you both. What a testament to the true heart of God.
25:00 Two problems: 1. Going into ministry young and untested because of talent and 2. Not dealing with the pursuit of fame, money, and a decadent lifestyle. Well, 3. Not fearing God and pursuing holiness and sanctification.
I love this woman, and I love how she made the choice to stay for her and not the kids. I want this podcast to break chains because this is one of the best redemption stories for a pastor I have heard. Yes, Carl, I would attend your church because this is true church. I will continue to listen and follow. Here is your flowers🎉.
I didn’t ever think I would see myself in your story, but now here I am. The things that you talk about are so intimately similar to the way my life is going right now that is so hard, but so necessary at the same time. Thank you for the honesty and vulnerability. I pray that this podcast gets to the people that need to hear it, like myself.
Just WOW. I was meeting with my pastor this afternoon and we had a long talk about infidelity and what that means. It was wild to see both of you guys each individually touch, verbatim on things that we had discussed from how it happens, how it makes you feel, what drives you in the middle of the action (and I literally said adrenaline also), what defines infidelity from the top to the bottom and how pornography affects a relationship. This was just amazing and I’m so grateful that I got to see this. I will absolutely continue to watch your podcast. This was an absolutely joy to witness! So touching.
So beautifully said. Laura, you are amazing. Wouldn't it be incredible if church leadership took that young 20 year old BEFORE giving him a platform and asked some hard questions... so much respect for all the hard-work you've both done and for being so vulnerable. Isaiah 61:3-10 xx
You may not see this comment, but Carl, you're one of the most strongest people I have come to know. You are massive man! You're a warrior and sharing this opens a lot up. Thank you for being brave enough to share this. Proud of you Man of God!
Thank you for your hard work, your trust and sharing with such raw honesty. I cried when I heard you say “I earned her doubt, so I needed to earn her trust” and “It is my honor to regain her trust”. Thank you also for speaking up so strongly for and sharing the example of doing what’s required for healthiness. I have found bits of release and freedom here. Continued strength and courage to your family!
This is the most vulnerable thing I've ever watched. Wow! I pray that this is a catalyst for Christians everywhere to peel back the layers and heal for real.
So beautiful to actually see a man do the work and not be defensive nor blaming or giving the excuse that he is a guy. So thankful for your transparency. Beautiful to see your strength Laura. Thank you for seeing hope. My hope is to one day be restored from this devastation.....I see that it definitely makes a difference when both are willing to work. I'm sure it's not easy to do what you're doing but thank you!!!
Hey everyone deserves forgiveness... so happy God restored your marriage...ppl that think in the flesh can't believe this.. but people that love the Lord love to see this!! Good for u 2...God strengthens and restores!! God bless you both.. cling to God not to celebrity or the things of this world!! Prayers out to you both!!❤❤❤
I dont know how this woman has this level of grace. Nowadays ppl drop relationships for tiny things let alone this level of betrayal. I know its God's grace, but still wow!
I wish I had heard you guys 20 years ago. My husband (also in the ministry) met a chick online and ended up throwing away our 20-year marriage. And because he left without much communication about "why" I'm left with all the feelings of inadequacy and wondering what "she" had that I didn't. I know, in my head, it was his problem and he had deep-seated issues he's had since childhood but rather than stay and working on it, he ran. I felt like he threw me out like the garbage and yet he was saying that I was a great wife, a good mother and our marriage was not in trouble. It's been 20 years and I still think about it almost daily. Thank you for being so vulnerable and honest in this podcast. It's so helpful.
This was a brilliant podcast, transparent and vulnerable. But I thought that before about Carl and he was still out here. But only God knows his heart. But what I do know is His wife’s heart is huge! He’s blessed to have her because a lot of people would have packed their bags and signed on the line
I really wasn’t a Carl enthusiast. Actually I remember watching one of his first sermons and I thought “man this guy is crazy and cocky, hope he doesn’t do anything stupid”, and he did😅 But! Man! He looks like a total different man! Wow! Definitely God used everything for good. And also I want to add that, there are MAAAANY leaders doing what he did, and the only difference is that they haven’t been caught or they are not famous. Being vulnerable to the public makes him brave a brave man. Congratulations Carl! You have a new fan!
Already read so many amazing comments that expressed my heartfelt gratitude for what you two are doing by facing this struggle head on and transparently. I know our Father is rejoicing at the healing you will bring to others broken by infidelity and addiction. My own very similar situation didn't resolve as theirs did, but I have extreme respect for those compassionate friends and counselors who instead of walking away in fear, understood the deep distress and pain and stood by them giving amazing hope, encouragement, and a solid path to reconciliation. Unless you've lived it, you would never know the pain, and you would truly understand that careless assumptions and judgements are not in anyway expressing the love of Christ. Beautiful sharing. God bless you both on your journey of healing.
The story of the woman at the well is that of love, truth, redemption and acceptance Stay on your healing journey Carl, praying for your family that it shall be well with you all in Jesus name amen
When talking about shame I was reminded of the passage in 2 Corinthians 7 that Godly sorrow leads to repentance but worldly sorrow leads to death. Praise God for His redemption
I actually did like him as a preacher & could still see through the rock star front. Glad they’re doing the work of recovery. You may not always do this podcast-but you’ll always be in recovery.
Such needed content in this day and age where we only see the side of the fall and moral failure.. even though the Gospel promises redemption and healing for ALL! Especially the families of the leaders that fell… love this hopeful story
Stumbled upon this. I have followed Hillsong Church for about 10 years. So much has happened. Have wondered what happened. Haven’t agreed with how what happened was handled based only on what little I know. Followed Brian and Bobbie. Love Bobbie’s teaching. I know they are out of the church. Followed you Carl and and Joel, when you were in New York. Know nothing of what has happened there. Followed Ben and Lucille. I know nothing. More than anything, I’m thrilled your marriage is intact and you are growing as a couple. That is truly Christ! True love and forgiveness.
You guys are truly encouraging. When I listen to your story it causes a lot of fear in me, in a good way. When I listen to your story I try and imagine how I would feel and what it would be like if I committed the same sin against my wife and the damage it would do to her and to our marriage. Honestly, just the thought of it is too much for me to emotionally bear or think about. It's scaring me enough that I'm determined to stay even more accountable to my friends and family, my church and my wife of 3 years. Thank you guys for telling your story.
I just like hearing people talk about the recovery from infidelity openly. They’re treating it with the seriousness it deserves. “I earned your doubt. Now I’m going to earn your trust.” This attitude is so healing. Wow.
The Lord is so faithful and merciful! Thank you, Carl and Laura, for staying strong in the Lord, and your story is a testimony of God's unchanging hand!!
This right here. I’m so so blessed by this. Thank you for your vulnerability and love to share your honest and raw journey. Real talk. Real love. Rooting for you both.
The freedom to be able to trust and have that free space in your head, your heart settled, is such a gift! That is what i work for, that’s what i pray for. This is a God send, thank you for sharing your struggles and heart ache. It’s good to know you’re not alone, and what you struggle with seems normal!
I didnt expect to be balling my eyes out at the end of this pod. When you decide to leave because there was abuse on top of everything, and literally lose everything, open your eyes to 0 support, its so much harder to even get up again. Im exhausted after trying to fight for some kind of life after almost three years of losing it all because I had to choose myself. The agony of the constant things going on in my head when I have to try and focus just to stay housed after it all is the worst part. I wish that conversations like this were available years ago.
By each episode I just grow to love Laura more and more. She's just pure beauty. What a woman! I hope she realizes it, she's the prize. Carl is a blessed guy. This is all God, the strength that this woman has. I love that we hear more from her now, I didn't know anything about her before when they where in Hillsong, I'm glad she's on the podcast and that she's found her voice. I'm more interested to hear what she has to say, honestly.
Wow this episode really changed my heart towards you too, at the beginning I was a bit reluctant and thought this was potentially just attention seeking but the rawness and vulnerability and accountability you two have shared is so incredibly inspiring. As someone who grew up with a father who was constantly cheating I definitely now realize I’ve been carrying that betrayal trauma and it sometimes pours out into my own marriage, just seeing that it’s possible to get through this kind of pain in a marriage is so encouraging and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this journey of yours it gives me so much hope really knowing that people can change.
My sister told me about the podcast so because of her I'm here, and I really wish you both Victory on this, that your story be used by God to know restoration is possible, healing and a new beginning.
This is so good! Finally people talking real genuine truth about how hard relationships are, how much work marriage is and that there is no such thing as perfect. I love the realness and rawness of the conversations you are both having. It is so needed in a time where all we see is people's highlight reels and not a lot of truth. To see how you both navigated the lies in your marriage and how truth has truly set you both free just shows how good God is and how he can restore the brokeness in anyone. There is hope for all of us.
you guys are more humble, relatable and authentic more than ever before and I find myself really loving you guys now 😅 thank you for sharing your journey … God bless you and your marriage … you have both shown such strength and resilience with your hard work … I love how Carl has taken accountability and the grace Laura has shown is clearly of God … just wow 😭😭
I love the transparency in this. It’s beautiful. I’m so glad you’re doing this. The level of forgiveness, support, grace, love and so much more… exemplifies Christ all over this relationship. The both of you. I commend you both. What a blessing and a message of so much hope. My husband and I have been through this… both ways! It is NOT easy. It’s been 10 years. And it is STILL difficult for us to get through certain things. It has gotten better for sure. But still difficult. Especially that he does not easily forgive. I am so glad we stayed in it and I continue to pray for healing in our marriage in more ways than one. And I am so glad YOU stayed in it. Thank you for your displayed vulnerability.
Man, such a healing and eye opening episode. I hope yall heart my teary eyed heart when I genuinely say Thank you for this one. All of these really. Thank you!
This is just amazing! Thank you faithful Father God and thank you both for being so bold and vulnerable. People need to hear real and authentic. This is going to help so many people! God bless you both!
Love you Carl. Love you Laura, you had the tough part, what a phenomenal woman you are. What a testimony of redemption and reconciliation and the POWER in free will, the power to choose! You individually chose SO WELL. My heart is smiling SO big to watch you both healed and healing, TOGETHER!!!
What God has joined together, let no one separate! I'm so thankful that you two are surviving and thriving and for the few people who stuck around. This makes me reevaluate myself as a friend. Thank you for sharing ❤️
Thank you for being vulnerable and so raw. I am going through a tough season of separation and though only God knows my outcome without me knowing it, this has truly helped me. I pray that God provides me with the right people as I’ve been on a very lonely journey but seeing this gives me hope to know that my life won’t be over regardless of what’s to come my way. Honesty is key and I hope to live by that and have strength to be honest and surrender it all before God. It’s been great to see from a women’s perspective on how a healing journey may look like. Feeling betrayal and alone but yet having compassion for your spouse. Just as God has loves us and ensures all our failures. It’s amazing to see it in real life with a couple. Thank you for sharing.
She’s an awesome woman and enjoy listening to her. Carl, all your answers are in the Word and the presence of the Lord. Pride comes before the fall and it doesn’t happen overnight but inch by inch. Humility is the only answer. Shame should care only what God thinks and should bring humility and you hang on with everything.
Thank you to you both for choosing to be people of influence. I'm standing and applauding you, Carl and Laura! I wish I could be one of those friends to listen, hug, make you a coffee and pray for you and the kids - gosh, I'm stunned by their wisdom and insight in life - shows how great they've been raised! You're great people Carl and Laura. Keep the focus just for today. Much respect to you both, x
Carl, you have the most amazing wife I’ve ever seen!! I understand it took these many years, but to be honest, I don’t think I could stay since it was multiple affairs! I pray you will become worthy of the woman you married!! 🙏🙏
I followed the story of your tragic fall from grace. As many in the BOC, I was angry and hurt for the people who trusted you in the position you held. As a former pastor and current marriage and family counselor, I can see that the two of you have done some really deep work to recover your marriage. I sit in space with couples recovering from betrayal. Those who do the hard work and remain invested in each other have transformed relationships. What I hear in your candid interview is a couple committed to an authentic relationship. I want you to know that I will pray that this work will continue and that you will be instrumental in giving hope to couples in similar circumstances. I saved this podcast and will share it with couples I know will benefit from what you shared.
BUT GOD!! Thank you for going on the journey you’ve gone through together, & rebuilding on our solid rock. You both sharing your POV is refreshing & reflects the mercy & grace of God! May He continue to work in & through you together & individually 🤎
As a devout Catholic (married 28 years, 8 children), it crushes me to hear about your women friends ~ your sisterhood ~ abandoning you in your hour of greatest need. I am so sorry that happened and don't even understand how anyone could do that. Prayers for you still!
Laura is an incredible woman. Her surrender to the Lord Jesus is the strength we see here. She reminds me of a true Prov 31 woman. I’m thankful to hear about all the work both of you have been doing to heal and be renewed by the Lord. I’m very thankful that if for nothing else you have stayed together and are working through all of this because your kids desperately need you to. A hundred years ago I was that kid whose parents had a similar situation and they terminated the marriage. I have suffered for it and will for the rest of my life in tremendous ways. And I’m definitely not alone in that scenario. I’m thankful in the Lord that you guys are fighting to stay together and heal. Your words here are strength from the Lord to help others heal. Laura I know the Lord is blessed by how you have chosen to deal with all of this. Both of you keep trusting and growing in your relationship with the Lord and with each other. Your story is still being written, and I have faith in the Lord that it will be a fantastic life lived when complete. Then we will have all of heaven to celebrate the Goodness of our God!
Although the person I was with may never forgive me and we may never reconcile. This has been encouraging to helping me deal with the internal battles, and making progress towards being the person God wants me to be. I won’t ever stop working towards that!
I've listened to your first 4 podcasts and I'm so thankful for you and your family. I just believe that God is and will take so many people through this kind of trauma because of the honesty of these podcasts. This is the best way to walk out of brokenness and be a walking testimony. We went through something similar many years ago and we made it, because a few wonderful people and a committed God took us through. Proud of you all. Thank you!❤
Wow! have been watching this podcast since the first episode. I have been through infidelity and these pods have helped me to process some things and revisit within myself. Praise to God that our marriage is restored and better than ever but hearing these have helped even now. Thank you.
Thank you for joining us for episode 4. Let us know how this portion of the story speaks to you.

Sad
Once again reminder these people are hungry for power and control.. they had too much of it and now they want it back.
Why are you taking down my comments?
HEAR!! HEAR!!! So good!!!
Totally agree I pray God will use their lives to help others to know there is hope and restoration when we become surrender to Christ!! Alleluia for his unfailing love!!
amen!!
Amen! ❤
There is nothing Christian about having an affair and then doing a podcast about it afterwards
They need to learn how to repent.

Standing ovation to Laura for her courage, resilience, humility and forgiving heart. Only God!
Whooo- that moment when he says "I sometimes forget that its you that I cheated on because youve been so good to me. That was a real moment. Grace.
I don’t think people realize how important their vulnerability is. Y’all are helping so many people.❤️
Vulnerability is a pop psychology, Brene Brown term, not a biblical value. It's TMI and self-promotion.

Proverbs 6:16-19
[16] There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: [17] Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, [18] A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, [19] A false witness who utters lies,
*And one who spreads strife among brothers.*
Luke 18:9-14
[9] And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
[10] “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. [11] The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. [12] I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ [13] But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
[14] I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Romans 14:10-12
[10] But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. [11] For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God.”

I wish people were as supportive when we fall as much as they are for the comeback. Congrats Laura and Carl. Rooting for your marriage and you as individuals in your marriage.
This!
Many pastors are watching this hoping they could have just a smidgen of this much freedom and transparency but are shackled due to pride amd titles. I really hope this inspires people to live freely for the sole purpose of Jesus Christ and His Glory. No frills and hidden agendas.
Don’t forget their money is tied to it too!

@@dearencourager my word, so true. 😶
Well said. I agree
HEAR! HEAR!
I agree with this so much. satan is working hard to destroy marriage and the church sits by apathetic or affirming the destruction. Relying on Christ first is the most important.
Pastors can be forgiven but they shouldn't be restored to ministry.
This woman is absolutely amazing. I am stunned by her strength. I am praying this helps people who are wrestling with the trauma of betrayal.
The cheating was not why you left
Well news flash. Most men cheat. Good luck

@fles ❤️
Yess well said.. pure utter grace on her part 🥹🫶
@angel ❤️💕
No shortcuts.
me too!
He is faithful, even when we are not.
amen!
“Your consistency is what helped me heal.” That’s beautiful
I LOVE LAURA!!! I LOVE HER AUTHENTICITY AND RAW HONESTY! She communicates in such a real way and it’s refreshing to see in this world.
Just like in the book of Esther.
Glory to Jesus
This is such an amazing testimony and it’s being used for the better of humanity
God bless you both
God bless you for your heart 🎉
"Where Christianity gets murky is the legislation of conviction." This is absolutely right. I appreciate this series and the unmasking of religion! Faith is more than practicing religion, it is also works, pursuing the heart of the father which is in all aspects reconciliation!
carl, many people took issue with you before due to your arrogance. it is so refreshing to see the unmistakable grace and humility in your life. laura, your grace and character is on full display. praying the lord blesses both of you immensely and opens new doors to share the healing power of our forgiveness in christ. may he be glorified in your story!
I know it's great to see Carl with his shields and attitude down and humbled without any bad attitudes moving forward
Thank you Carl & Laura for sharing your story. It is a blessing to many. More grace to you. God bless you. #LoveWins
These conversations are life changing, thank you …. sincerely. 🖤🖤🖤
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you! You’re authenticity, vulnerability & transparency will bring so much healing!!! ❤️
These podcasts feel like therapy. Thanks for being so vulnerable. I’m learning so much from you two.
Prayers out to you both!!❤❤❤
Laura is such a virtuous Woman ! Respect to her❤❤
What a testimony. You 2 are truly real children of God and representatives of the Kingdom!
The story of the woman at the well is that of love, truth, redemption and acceptance
Stay on your healing journey Carl, praying for your family that it shall be well with you all in Jesus name amen
When talking about shame I was reminded of the passage in 2 Corinthians 7 that Godly sorrow leads to repentance but worldly sorrow leads to death. Praise God for His redemption
Thank you guys for being willing to speak out. Thanks for shining a light on this issue. Love you Carl!
This is a really beautiful sentiment
I just like hearing people talk about the recovery from infidelity openly. They’re treating it with the seriousness it deserves.
“I earned your doubt. Now I’m going to earn your trust.”
This attitude is so healing. Wow.
The Lord is so faithful and merciful! Thank you, Carl and Laura, for staying strong in the Lord, and your story is a testimony of God's unchanging hand!!
Not easy to put yourself out there after infidelity. Thank you for your rawness. May God continue to protect and lead your marriage
This couple will save thousands of marriage. Also, Laura is so fine 🥰
Carl, I’m very proud of you for trying so hard. Lots of men wouldn’t. I’m 62. Most men wouldn’t go through the work.
🙏🏾
"Laura is amazing and you are both blessed to have each other having come through the fire. God bless you both". Amen! I agree 💯!
What God has joined together, let no one separate! I'm so thankful that you two are surviving and thriving and for the few people who stuck around. This makes me reevaluate myself as a friend. Thank you for sharing ❤️
The podcasts are so freeing, healing, and refreshing
wow❤...thank you for choosing to be vulnerable and real and helping the church ( us). im praying for your family. i love you guys.
Why do you ask?
As a devout Catholic (married 28 years, 8 children), it crushes me to hear about your women friends ~ your sisterhood ~ abandoning you in your hour of greatest need. I am so sorry that happened and don't even understand how anyone could do that. Prayers for you still!
Wow. Amazing journey. Thanks for letting listen in on it.
Pray for me, I’m in a valley of feeling broken, and trying to recover myself.
Awe what a good woman, what she went through must’ve been living hell, this beautiful woman was a virgin when she got married, her heart was broke!
Thank you.
