Great explanation! I've been using a combo of C4D and After Effects for years. Having this workflow explained so simply really helps me to understand the procedural process of doing this in Fusion. Definitely subscribing. Keep it up!
Great video and introduction to 3D text/reflections. Gong to watch your 3D basics video now. I have been wanting to try out some 3D work in resolve.. Thanks!
William Justice being able to work in 3d inside fusion is cool, but it’s also frustrating. 3d crashes Resolve more than anything else for me. Save often.
Take reflection input picture from a previous 3d text animation and run a text with alpha over the main text and have other letters reflect off each other in 3d space. That would allow objects 2 collided with each other as they pass by a light source and its reflections to actually show on each surface. I was looking for a way to animate shadows and reflections but only thought light reflections (simple ones were possible. But with this tutorial you can take the scene shot and input 3d previous text in 2d image and have that play and make it look like its 2 separate 3d texts passing each other. The reflections would sell the effect to the viewer
How do I make it so I can actually see it in my video? When I view the Merge1 I can see my image, just as you could. But it's just black when I view MediaOut1, which I noticed you never showed in your video. So, it's just a black screen on my video too
If you put something in the foreground input, it should be viewable in the media out. Try swapping your inputs, sounds like it may be in the background input.
Need a 3 button mouse for that. The regular MAC one is OK for most things, but editing is much easier with a 3 button. You can probably also emulate the third button, but its been so long since ive done that, not sure what the hot button combo would be.
Just subscribed nice video. I own studio version and have a TH-cam channel on here with over 5million views. Always looking for ways to improve my fusion work.
Most underrated tutorial ever.
This is true, i forgot I even made this one.
Great tutorial. I am working on a new logo that needs to be metallic/reflective and this was just the ticket.
Perfect!

Thanks Justin, i used to use a combo of Maya and AE, but Blender and Fusion works pretty well too as a free alternative.

CB Super thanks so much for your quick reply. Much appreciated!!! Hopefully I can learn much more from your other videos
Is it possible to get the image you used for making the chrome affect?
Unfortunately, I dont have it any more.
@@CBSuper oh okay
Hi, nice tutorial. I wonder if you have a tutorial n how to make a media, say a jpg media, 3D or give some bevel depth to it? Thanks
I dont have one. I did play around with 3d creation in DaVinci but its very limited. If your on Studio, you can check out the Krokodov tools.
@@CBSuper 🙏 Thanks buddy for advice
Good stuff I subbed
Thanks!
This is what I was looking for. Thanx!
perfect!
what do you mean by middle mouse button I have a mac as well?

@@CBSuper Thx

Welcome!
Can I do this same procedure but replacing the Text3D node with just a PNG file? As you can not connect a mediaIn node to a Merge3D node.
Not sure, i'll have to look into it.
Great tutorial!!! I try to put a 3d text on a cylinder to appear curved in z-axis ..but i found no way to do that. Have anyone a idea, how to do?
Hmm, I'll look into it. Fusion isnt the best at 3d, but It may be able to do that. It can camera project and add materials to 3d objects.
You can use 3D-Bender node to curve the 3D text and simply 3D transform it next to the cylinder
i cant change the material to chome when i put it in the replace material node it doesnt apply to the text
I’ll look into it. May have changed.
@@CBSuper nevermind, its fixed sorry for the trouble😅
