Thanks. SImple and effective - you have cured some problems for me. In return, I find right clicking the middle menu bar (between nodes and viewers) brings up options to switch off High Quality and Motion Blur which can save on resources during editing. Rendering quality is preserved.

@@agusdahar3761 my old computer was a 2015 macbook pro laptop with 16gb ram. It crashed often. My new pc is an AMD 3900x, 128gb RAM, and an Nvidia rtx 3090.
Nice one, CB. I wonder why DR is crashing your MBP? DR is in a very stable release right now (16). Are you using Blender on it too? Does Blender crash your laptop?
Saad Shah I believe 90% of all my crashes come from DR running out of RAM. The 3d stuff chews through it pretty quickly. I run Blender, Maya and Nuke pretty smoothly. I have had several crashes on Zbrush though, so could be a similar issue.
@@CBSuper ah gotcha. I am running DR on a budget pc and recently upgraded Ram to 32, so no complaints here. Of course, ideally I should have 64 gb of ram to do heavy 3D work.
Brillant ! Thanks a lot. One maybe silly question : you mention Blender, why not crafting the sphere and everything from scratch in Blender and why would you use it only to edit the "convergence" ?
I prefer to use Blender for anything 3d related. I have a different video on using Blender, but this was just using DaVinci for 3d. DaVinci is pretty blah for 3d work. Its ok for composite work (fusion page works similar to Nuke) but actually creating objects in resolve is tough. This video exists because somebody asked me how to do it in Resolve (otherwise this would definitely not be my software of choice). Is it possible, yes, but much better off using an actual 3d program for creating and animating the scene. Then bring it into resolve to either work the composite or integrate it into your video.
No easy ways ofcourse. If you are on Studio, you can try Krokodov tools. If on free, you can try creating a text font from your logo shape file. Easiest way is to simply use Blender to build your logo in 3d, then bring it into DaVinci.
@@CBSuper In a similar vein, is it possible, in the 3D workspace, to create shapes that have thickness? For example, if we would use an ellipse mask to create a circle or ellipse in 2D, is it possible to create that in 3D space where the circle or ellipse has thickness? @neilbtw's question was about importing a logo and giving it thickness, and you said that was not possible. But I wonder, if something is built in Fusion (rather than imported) how would we build 3D shapes that have thickness?
Hi CB Super thanks for your videos! Do you have a tutorial/tips for importing the graphics from Adobe Illustrator and bringing into fusion and animate them in a 3D world?
Congratulations Kevin, you've found my least favorite thing about Fusion! I'll try to get around to making a video doing just this since the workaround is kinda annoying. Essentially, you'll need to save out a .SVG file and import that into the Fusion tab. Need to go up to Fusion, Import, then select either Shapes or SVG. It will bring it in as vector polygons attached to a background. Now to animate it in 3d (2.5 really since there will be no extrusion), you can use the DVE or Transform node.
Kevin, made this video to show how to bring import and animate .SVG vector graphics. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/p4xfM7HvHxM/w-d-xo.html Also, as of now, Fusion doesn't have a 3d generator like Element 3d (unless you use the Studio version and Krokodov toolset), but there some very difficult workarounds. I'm still working on doing a 3d integration with Blender and Fusion, but that is a few weeks out.
Hi , can we create a similar 3d background to look like Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj scenario? use video and images with curves, i will stay in the right side and i wanna have videos and images in the left but curve and not straight like the tonight show.
HOW DO YOU MAKE A NEW FUSION COMPOSITION IN THE NEW DAVINCI RESOLVE 16? I can't find the option of fusion composition in the effects menu?!!! looking for hours here!!
If you have poor performance in fusion 3D it's probably because you render on the CPU. To render on the GPU instead, click on your Renderer3D node -> under "Reporting", Render Type -> select other option than "Software Renderer" like in my case "OpenGL Renderer". My computer loves me again now.
If you have a 3d mesh of it already, its easy. Just import it. If you need to build it, do that in Blender first. Unless your on the Studio version, building custom 3d logos is not an easy task.
Club Brick oh yeah. You can do that. Not sure it will look right, but depending on your 2d texture, just plug it directly into a shaded or your object.
Most of my earlier videos were all on the free version. I did get the studio version last year, but most of the functionality is the same. A few added features on the studio version, but free is definitely usable for 99% of all projects.
The fact that you can't use your own hotkeys to pan, zoom and rotate in 3D is a big problem because having to do two mouse buttons simultaneously to rotate is super clunky and annoying and RSI inducing ... but help is at hand, get yourself a little programmable X-Keys keyboard from P.I. Engineering and you can program one key to do both middle & right mouse click, so you can navigate around with the same way as you do in Blender, 3D max or whatever your favorite 3D program is. You're welcome!
I’m not sure how you can describe this as “basic”. I didn’t get any of your “basic tutorial” and definitely not looking at what would it be “advanced”. Sorry.
