You have North Yemen which run by the Houthis and you have South Yemen run by the STC
South Yemen is rich will natural resources, it's just getting it up.

As a Yemeni, forget how nice Oman is, Omani people are the nicest people on earth. Funniest people I’ve ever seen, but also the kindest and purest. You won’t see Haitians say that about DR or Koreans about the north.
As for Yemen, you will see people blame other countries for our problems, but we have only ourselves to blame. Greed, backstabbing’s, ignorance, and hate towards each other. We made those countries interfere.
Omanis put their faith in one leader who repaid them, while we got greedy and wanted to divide the harvest before we even planted the seeds.

Hinduism Was The Largest Monotheistic Religion In Ancient Times, But When They Added The Trinity And Polytheism, The Religion Declined. The Holy Kaaba was recorded by the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus before Christ Era.
In John (4:21-24) Jesus Christ also told that woman that neither at Jerusalem nor in its mountain God will be worshipped, why?
CLEARLY, THE PLACE & DIRECTION OF WORSHIP WOULD BE CHANGED TO THE FINAL TEMPLE SINCE THE HOUR IS ABOUT TO COME!.

      96. The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka [Now Mecca]: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings:
      97. In it are Signs Manifest; (for example), the Station of Abraham; whoever enters it attains security; Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to God,- those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, God stands not in need of any of His creatures.
The Word Tefillin Derives From Tawaf, Circumambulation Around The Kaaba.

When my father was alive he was probably America's top expert on Oman. There were only two other competitors but he deserved it. He loved exploring their caves and took many photos of their mountains. He wrote a tour book, met the sultan one and a half times, had ambassadors call him with questions. He discovered a geologic formation akin to New Hampshire's late Old Man of the Mountain and dubbed it Old Man of Oman. He was in the process of giving tours to Hollywood set location scouts and he worked with the Omani government to promote tourism too. Then a thing happened about 20 something years ago and nobody wanted to go to the middle east on vacation, ruining my dad's dreams.
He said both on 9/10 and 9/12 the Omani didn't care to promote themselves. They were great. They knew they were great. They figured they didn't need to shout about how great they were. They thought people would just naturally want to come see their prosperous, happy, beautiful, peaceful nation.
Talking about Oman isn't like talking about most minor countries that nobody can seem to find on a map. When i told people my dad was an expert on Oman they didn't say "where's that." They would say " what's that." Oman is a country so obscure people don't even know it's a country.

Compared to the other GCC countries, Oman is still very slow and calm whereas other GCC countries like Qatar and UAE are miles ahead but still the peace and hospitality you will find in Oman is something you just cannot find in other GCC countries. His Majesty Sultan Qaboos was a legendary man. Under his reign, Oman boomed SO MUCH and he played a very important role in maintaining not just peace within the GCC but around the world.

Great video. Visited Oman recently, and was blown away how much they managed to preserve their culture, architecture and such while still modernising the country. As opposed to the UAE which has kind of lost it's charm and character in the rapid drive towards development. Oman is far more authentic, and there is a certain "joie de vivre" there that you will find nowhere else in the Gulf region. Loved it, and can't wait to visit again.

I have always lived my whole life outside of Yemen because my father decided to move abroad to secure a good future for his children, despite that, I have a big sense of belonging to my original country Yemen, I wish I could help this country in any sort of way but my father has always told me that it's impossible to have a good life there and that I should stop thinking about my career or any future potential in Yemen. It's truly heartbreaking to see what is happening there due to long-term of wrong leadership and stupid decisions made by the leaders.

my grandfather was one of the first foreigners to go to Oman right after Sultan Qaboos came into power. they had to bring all their own machinery and basically beached the enormous freighter and had to offload by hand, first small cranes then use those for bigger machinery etc. They had to build their own roads and compound before they could even start with any sort of oil industry. My father and our family got posted there in the late 90s and when my grandfather visited us he couldnt believe his eyes. The only things he recognized were the ancient walls around the port of Muscat.
i ended up growing up in Oman until the mid 2000s. It was an amazing place, super friendly people, beautiful landscapes etc
The Sultan was very popular, may he rest in peace. and his chosen successor seems to be doing a good job continuing the policies. The people have developed a culture of tolerance and neutrality. there are ofc still massive issues with the treatment of low skilled guest workers, but thats not unique to Oman

The late Sultan was definitely partially responsible, but the fact that Oman has been an ally to the West since the mid-1800's has also played a great part in their prosperity. Oman is an example of how Western secularism and Muslim fundamentalism can be balanced and used to bring progress to the region. The ideals and values espoused by Islam need not be at odds with secular life. Much of the region would do well to emulate Oman.

To say that a country needs to exist without external influences is like saying that a person needs to exist without being influenced by anyone else in the world. It's unrealistic. As long as there are people around you they'll always try to influence you one way or the other. Sometimes they do it to further their own agenda, sometimes they do it thinking it's for your own good, sometimes they do it because they feel their own survival depends on it. Either way, no country can be free of external influence because countries are ultimately made up of people. And people will always have an agenda. A country's success or failure depends on its ability to further its own agenda without getting derailed by those of others. That's also true of individuals.

My experience in Indonesia was markedly different than that of my white colleagues, with whom I was sharing the trip. The clashed between your people and the Yemenis in Indonesia may be due to cultural differences and the fact that Yemenis, like most Arabs, don't take kindly to being disrespected. There seems to be an inherent bias in many Asian nations, favoring people with light skin tones, whilst shunning those with darker complexions. I would hazard the guess that the dismissive treatment I received in Indonesia is not too dissimilar to how Yemenis are welcomed there.

True, but lots of countries have wars, and bounce back in a few years. The Saudis aren’t helping, but they are pretty far down the list of things that have hurt Yemen, with their own civil wars and long history of corrupt leaders interested in only their own wealth/power being by far the main factors.
There is something called the Fundamental Attribution Error, where we tend to blame external factors for when things go wrong for us, but attribute success to our own actions. But if things go wrong decade after decade after decade …..it’s usually us that are the main problem.
And there are likely 20 other factors not mentioned in the video: lack of women’s rights is almost always associated with impoverished countries (with few exceptions, such as Saudi Arabia relying on oil wealth), the effect of malnutrition in childhood, etc.

Oman is one of the most developing countries now, rich, stable government, clean roads, friendly people, the only reason Oman doesn’t look as the other gulf countries is because our government spends millions and billions on traditional things, the previous sultan was a simple man he did built the country but didn’t like tourism much, that’s why he didn’t build skyscrapers, advanced cities etc, to be honest he disliked skyscrapers, but now oman is developing so much, the current sultan “Haitham and his sons” are working on projects like sultan haitham city, railway from Muscat to Abu Dhabi, another project called khuwair downtown which includes 40+ skyscrapers, also Cristiano opened his hair transplant company ( Insparya ) in oman couple of days ago, donald trump is also opening his golf playground which is part of a project named “Al Aida” to host world championships, we’re also building stadiums like Qatar to host big matches, also building world’s biggest botanical garden park and many more projects can’t named all of them of course, eventually just wanna say we love our Yemeni brothers/sisters and i wish them all the best and hope all the conflicts end and their country become a peaceful & safe country.
