I worked really, really hard this past month on the latest episode in Modern Conflicts dealing with the terrible civil war in Yemen. It also marks the 20th episode I have published in this series, with more than 7 hours of additional combined content on other 21st-century conflicts. The best way to watch them is through the CuriosityStream/Nebula bundle deal, and they're currently running an amazing holiday sale that makes it just $11.59 for the entire year to both sites here: curiositystream.com/?coupon=reallifelore

I enjoyed the video too but I am disappointed he mentioned the newspaper that said 6500 people died in construction. It has been confirmed, that number is the total number of worker deaths, which means due to the virus, health issues, etc. The actual number of work related deaths is around 450. Which is 450 too many. But I get angry seeing media lie about things like this and then everyone believes them straight away.

If what you're saying is true, that is indeed a shame. I'm guessing (hoping) any such errors were made because they themselves got bad information and there was nothing malicious or intentional behind it. I wonder what the possibilities are for correcting any such errors after the video has been published.

I lived in Qatar for about 18 months and loved it. Some good things and bad things as with any country. I noticed they catered more to the British versus the US. My title had Analyst in it and since I wasn't an engineer, I could not get a driver's license, which was old, since I had a Kuwaiti driver's license and could drive in Bahrain Dubai. The traffic was horrible, but then again, so was Bahrain, Kuwait, Dubai and most places I've been. They have been getting ready for the world cup for years and have been adding highways and a new (well not new now) airport, which I thought was state of the art. Dubai did the same, their airports make our airport look like a ghetto, just my opinion. Just another word, both Qatar and Dubai have a good Iranian and Russian population. I never had any issues but it is always good to know.

I lived there during the 80s and early 90s (Until the first Gulf War), I was around 14yrs old. There were no skyscrapers then. The tallest building was the National Bank (4-6 stories, I honestly can't remember), the only Supermarket was aptly named "The Center" and it was pretty modern even then. The kiosk in the car park served the best lamb kebabs that I have ever had in my life, (I can still taste them if I close my eyes). The Falcon Club was just over the road from where I lived, and it's where I spent most of my time. It's all gone now, and replaced by sky scrapers and sports stadiums. Even as a Brit, they were some of the best times of my life. My friend (who had a wooden miniramp in his front garden) and I must have been the only skateboarders in the whole country, or so we thought until we bumped into a bunch of Norwegian kids one day who had built their own quarter pipe in their school yard. Good times.

Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. They that believeth and are baptized (with the Holy Spirit) shall be saved; but they that believeth not shall be damned. Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness.
*God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.*
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.

      @Call_Upon_YAH ปีที่แล้ว

When you trust in God and cast your cares (worries, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts) upon him, they will be NO MORE!
Know that there is power in the name Jesus Christ! His name casts out demons and heals!
The world is wicked, evil, and of the devil.
I too, was a wicked sinner of the world before I opened my heart to God. I am living proof of God's work and fruitfulness! He is an active God who hears the prayers of his! God's children are set apart (holy) and righteous. The devil is a liar that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy; that includes your relationship with God!
Open your heart to God, repent of your sins (he will forgive you), and let him direct your path. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands and purify your heart, lest you walk with the devil and follow him to hell.

It would be too reductive to call it sinophobic or anti russian... But I would certainly say it is ADAMANTLY anti multi polarity.
It's not the only channel that I've noticed this from... Johnny harris who's videos I enjoy also had the same slant but I chalked it up to his previous employment at NATO but it turns out the WEF was funding his videos.
Most news sources usually have a political or national bias (BBC, AL JAZEERA, CNN, FOX ECT) but these TH-cam channels operate across borders and different political realities so what slant could be present? A global one.
Just write China on TH-cam, or Turkey... And you'll see several videos denigrating those govts, foreign policy ect all uploaded within weeks of eachother nothing by these channels on Moldova, Bolivia or other diplomatically inert nations.
I'm not saying theyre given scripts ect but wendover, real-life lore, Simon's whistler ect have several channels which they upload twice a week on each... That's like 2 TV shows a week... Editing, script writing, research and filming across multiple topics for a global audience... That requires funding and funders expect a certain standard.
Just watch out! Even TLDR which is a channel I really love held an EU line of not criticising Frances Africa policy.... They instead focused on the Italian prime minister being a racist.
We know the Italian pm is a facist but she broke EU protocol and publicly stated Frances neocolonial practises in Africa were enriching France but causing misery in Africa and nations like Italy to take on thousands of economic migrants.

@@skp8748 i think i get the jist of it
IMO its not necessary for him to focus too much on the supranational actors in the world because #1 there's already a TON of channels that do this, and people in general are fairly suspicious of organizations like the WTO and IMF, and #2 it quickly devolves into guesswork and witch hunting because of the many unknowns, and strong feelings many have for these institutions. The UN, WHO and the likes have also been shown to be either ineffective or corrupted in its mission by ill meaning members (think China during the covid outbreak, or Russia during most conflicts happening near its border, like Syria or now Ukraine). My point being this isn't necessarily the most productive target for RLL (and the team) to place their crosshair on.
These guys are also producing an entire series on Nebula, so without explaining away the economic question entirely you could see this youtube channel as a part of a larger whole, which in turn allows them polish and research topics a lot more effectively than if it was just a small, one-man channel on youtube.
You actually see these nebula commercials on a lot of tubers, so there might be some common resources they all pull on as a part of the deal.
Considering RLL always finish of with his 'nebula bait' in the end, I'd this makes little sense for propaganda reasons, the more who watches it, the more will buy our narrative! However it makes more sense from a money perspective.

It was such a surreal feeling, going from straight deserted areas to downtown Doha where they had all these expensive buildings with little to no tenants. Even back then I remember hearing about all of the heat casualties dying from being overworked outside. The temperatures out there were no joke, 115-120 degrees wasn't uncommon during the summer months. I could go on about my experiences there forever.

Would be cool to explore this concept with genuinely tiny countries - those having only a few thousand inhabitants, rather than a few million. Monaco and the Cayman Islands for instance have only around 30,000 people and yet both have a huge impact on the world by being semi-legal banks for the powerful.
Tokelau, a tiny nation of only hundreds of people in the Pacific that literally no one has heard of, manages to own more internet domain names than the ENTIRE country of China.
Gibraltar has even less but is the only 'country' that can fit its entire population in underground cave networks to survive years of siege, and nowhere in the world has endured even half as many sieges as Gibraltar - especially considering that not a single siege actually managed to take it since it was properly founded by the UK.
While Caymans and Gibraltar are technically colonies, they are self-governing and have unique cultural identities and so it is not much of a stretch. In fact doing a series on colonies would be awesome to see too!
