      Its even weirder because objectively your character achieves nothing in the city besides stoping some missiles and making sure the city stays in a state of survival of the fittest.
      I personally dont understand how thats the good ending even with the nudging that they do. With the PKs you get a cleared city and a implied amount of rations given to you (with shortages but its the apocalypse watcha gonna do) along with a actual organized front against the infected. If they are unable to take more territory out side the walls (im sure they could) they could at least keep the infected out.
      I always go PK because survivors are going to either remain a stable part of the infected food chain or they will just slowly be picked off to extinction like everywhere else. The simple fact that they cant clear the city is a big dealer breaker for me. The amount of doors a cleared out city opens for humanity is to many for us to just throw it away

      @@G8oo8N8 Well, those 6 dead were thieves and Renegades. I feel sorry for some of the thieves out of those 6 because they're not total thieves, they're just surviving, they haven't really adapted to having PK rule the entire city. Basically PK is like North Korea, self-sufficient, but I think a dictatorship like PK will be better than Survivor when PK helps to keep the society peaceful and orderly. especially in the chaotic post-apocalyptic period, Survivor helps people to be free, but because of that, it will make it even harder for us to return to the society before the zombie outbreak. Of course, it will not be as dictatorial and sick as Renegades, Renegades is like the dark Middle Ages, the people are poor, but the nobles still have fun. Choose PK, although people are not very free, but basically they still have human rights, as long as they don't steal or do anything that affects society. PK will distribute food and water to people, make sure they work and keep society in order, they can even provide good education. PK soldiers are very good at killing Zom, they can free the whole city and rebuild. Remember that guns still exist in the DL2 universe, it's just that the army has taken all the weapons out of the city. If there are still Pilgrims like Aiden visiting the city, then surely PK will get the guns back, they can even build it.

Also notice how in both renegade and pk ending. Despite them being portrayed bad options... tell me, what're they on the streets unlike the survivor ending? That's right. Even the junkies combined with the "bright peacekeepers" could clean out the streets enough that traveling on ground level is acceptable and notice how a lot of characters are in doors not covered in UV light. Survivors look good only because they pushed problems under the rug. They look like a utopia purely because they burn resources. Every other ending rationing is needed but magically the survivor ending is full of supplies? I think PK are actually right with water tower. You see, the water tower have limited water supplies, so, PK are rationing them and distribute it to people in appropriate numbers so that the supplies do not run out quickly. The same is done by the renegades. The survivors on the other hand, give away and trade as much water as they can, and probably after a few months their supplies would run out. The PK have also more experience in combat than the survivors, and if we support them and give them radio tower, they also become the strongest. In my opinion, they make much more sense, it's a pity that Techland presented them this way, and made the renegades the canonical ending (but as far as i know, now it's player choice which one is the canon one, so i think that PK would be it).

    I actually, genuinely hated the PK ending of the game; I preferred the PK faction all throughout my first (full) playthrough. In old Villedor, Aitor and the PKs not only seemed genuinely interested in my wellbeing, but they were damn near civilised most of the time. But the Bazaar? They try to hang you when you first meet, their initial leader is a pious moron and their second leader, should you side with them, is too aggressive, hotheaded and overall too angry for the position. A good leader sits in the middle of the two extremes presented by Carl and Sophie, and that's where I always saw Aitor. And when you break into their compound, an action that can reasonably be seen as a threat, Anderson tries to coerce information out of you, but they never actually harm you. Whereas, putting aside the fact that Sophie's brother is an absolute psychopath regardless of what side you choose, if you do try and help them, they attack you simply for suspecting you of being a PK spy... with little to no evidence.
    The PKs only truely show themselves to be bad in the same circumstances that the survivors show themselves to be bad; when you screw them over, or when they succumb to desperation. All throughout my time after leaving Old Villador, I sided with the PKs out of principle: I give them the first substation because that's what Aiden agreed to do when he meets the PKs there. I give them the VNC radio because so many genuinely good soldiers, who Aiden counted amongst his friends, died to help get him there. How could I let them die in vain? And for what? So some drunk asshole living in a dive bar can get his own personal radio station? In return for... suggesting that there may be a grappling hook nearby? Assuming you don't have the foresight of having already played the game - ergo, if you were in Aiden's position - it always seems like the most reasonable decisions are to side with the PKs, at least from my standpoint. Don't get me wrong, I would align myself with socialist ideals... in a world in which I am safe! But if it's between rooftop huts or military outposts in a world otherwise run by infected freaks and Renegades, it's a no brainer to me. The PKs also create food, they also provide education - I'd wager a much high education - and they also house people. Sure, your lot is much better if you actually join the PKs, but it's not like the survivors are freely providing for people outside their communities either.
    I feel no obligation to help the 'free people' over the PKs; if you work with the PKs you quickly see that they are not much fewer in number than the survivors themselves. And I'd rather the PKs have control than... 'the people'? The people meaning either psycho Sophie and drunk Frankie or nobody at all; anarchy.
    Provided that you side with the PKs, the faction is in the moral blue at the best of times and in the dark grey at worst. But then, after all that, once Jack Matt dies and Meyers takes over, all that ambiguity is thrown away to make them basic tyrants. I mean, I'd rather law with harsh punishments over lawlessness, but Meyers never seemed so unreasonable when we knew her in game. Though in saying that, when the Bazaar was tough on water they dropped a windmill on top of a PK outpost and left potentially hundreds of soldiers to die in the main base at Old Villedor.
    Now, granted, I haven't got far enough yet in my (second attempt at a) Survivor faction playthrough to really experience the PKs as a potentially antagonistic faction, so I may well come back one day having seen the other side of the coin and revoke some statements, but at the moment I'm fairly certain that I won't.
    Edit: So I just finished my Survivor playthrough and my opinions haven't changed all that much. It was nice to see Frank get back on his feet and - having spared Hakon - I got to see the Survivor cast get their happy endings... but honestly, I still don't see what kind of a chance this new world has.
    Seeing Jack Matt lose his shit at the end of the story didn't surprise me; the man was dying of cancer and watching all his hopes, dreams and aspirations go down the drain because of Aiden and Frank; if anything, it's a testament to the PK soldiers present that they saw what he'd become and relieved him of command. Still, what remains of the PK under Juan's leadership isn't really the PK anymore.
    With all that in mind, I still believe that the Peacekeepers offer a safer and overall better Villedor than the Survivor factions do; especially in a world with rapidly mutating infected.
    And for reasons I can't really articulate, running around Villedor feels a fair bit safer with towering blue outposts all over the place and Peacekeeper soldier all around to battle infected, as opposed to ramshackle farms and roaming scavengers.
    And even as far as practical rewards go, I think the PKs offer a better deal. Survivor rewards offer parkor shortcuts which become obsolete as you upgrade your nightrunner parkor tools and get all your parkor skills, whereas PK rewards offer fun traps on the ground that have genuinely helped me in a pinch at night, and are fun to play around with during the day.
    Not to mention, of course, the blessed PK crossbow.

      I think I made a mistake in giving the VNC tower to Frank. My reasoning was that I recently discovered that Jack Matt was responsible for not evacuating Villadore during the chemical bombings and so Williams was innocent (to a degree) and was wrongfully called "the Butcher". So I looked it up and saw that you could avoid killing Williams and also give the tower to Frank which would thus replace Jack Matt with Meyers. I did this in order to shortcut Jack Matt's sociopathism. However, apparently the game endings are utter shit and don't accurately represent the power dynamic left from these choices, so because of my choices (keep in mind the map is almost blue), I will probably get the terrible Survivor ending. Also it seems to me like there is a massive bias in favour of the Survivors faction in all things. I mean, why would the Nightrunners represent the Survivors when they were the middle way between PKs and the people back in the day and they also collaborated with the PKs? It seems like the developers are trying their hardest to make the Survivors a viable, fun and morally upright faction but it just doesn't work.

He is the best option for finding Mia, from an RP perspective.

    I wish the survivors took a more active approach with the zombies, but there's definitely something people forget. The PK's are objectively bad, its not like they were ever supposed to be saviors. They are military men for the most part, and even try to sabotage every faction. On the other hand, the survivors enlist a more democratic approach. I imagine that, because they have more of the everyday people AND the nightrunners, they are able to clean out small and important areas. I imagine this could lead to water treatment plants and solar energy farms after years. Theres also rain and well water that they could have! Its kinda funny to assume that the survivors dont have these very important everyday workers, which is more important that just pure force and military.

    • @tefky7964
      @tefky7964 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, they completely cleared streets and they are rationing, but there are probably two options. Either Peacekeepers have for some reason less water than Survivors in their ending, which seems like a bias against PKs, but if we expect that in their respective endings both Peacekeepers and Survivors have same amount of water and PKs still chose rations while Survivors just give everyone whatever they need even if everyone is honest and doesn´t act selfishly (which isn´t probable...) it still means that Survivors will run out of those supplies, especially water, pretty soon, while PKs will have it for long time thanks to considering their limited supply of it and rationing it from the start, which would make them in this ending much smarter than Survivors.
      Unless we take Survivors as some geniuses who somehow magically and very drastically improved their situation and solved all their problems they are probably quite screwed no matter how utopian does that ending seems to make them look.

    The Survivors felt more like people who just didn’t like how restrictions (protective or otherwise) to their lives were put in place and went against The Peacekeepers, while the peacekeepers feel a bit too totalitarian and bureaucratic to be trusted with owning the entirety of Villedor. In the end I chose The Renegades, under the leadership of Juan Rainer, as they seemed to be the most neutral faction that knew what most was necessary for Villedor’s survival, even if they were the most morally ambiguous.

    Well, those 6 dead were thieves and Renegades.

  • @anthonysanchez5651
    @anthonysanchez5651 ปีที่แล้ว

    I support the Survivors from beginning to end. They believe in community and freedom. Freedom from oppression, totalitarianism, manipulation, neglect, abuse, and greed. They believed in human rights. They also believed in rules and retribution, but not through control, dominance, or hierarchy.
    Concerning what Aitor said about being an equal and a leader is false, he had it wrong. A true leader is one who upholds and teaches those values to be an example without asking anything more in return. Unlike a ruler or a boss.
    The PK call themselves “righteous protectors.” But if they were, why did they leave the Bazzar suffering at the hands of Jack and Joe? Why didn’t they extend a helping hand to convince the Bazzarians they were the good guys? Why did they take too much from the people while leaving them with too little? Why did they judge the Bazzarians as a whole at the beginning over the actions of one man (Hakon)?
    Also, the audio tapes from the GRE, VNC News, and the Renegades confirm that like the Army before them, the PKs (and Renegades) are collectively a bunch of grunts who follow orders no matter what. This led to events like Black Monday. And lastly, they are controlled by someone who is power hungry or with agendas that can change for the worse if they wanted to.
    I hope some can see this too after they played this game many times. Also, the Survivors’ rewards are much more helpful when avoiding the Volatiles during a chase in Hard Mode, navigating the city, and avoiding crowds of infected and Special Infected when low on health.

    Pretty terrible writing in terms of the ending:
    1. The Survivors faction was awful right from the get go but their ending supposedly shows a good outcome? That whole things makes no sense. I didn't see anything indicating that for example they'd build soup kitchens (also making people reliable on handouts...)
    2. The Peacekeepers were reasonable from the start and had only a few idiots in it (Jack Matt). How you get from that to "we kill your family as well if you break the law" is beyond me. Also punishing confirmed thieves is good. The ending shown here is not consistent with what is experiences while playing the game...
    3. The pure idea that siding with Juan is siding with the Renegades also makes no sense. I would never hand over the keys to the city to a bunch of thugs that run around with masks constantly attacking and killing people. Up to the point where you meet Williams there wasn't a single Renegade that you could even properly talk to and that wasn't a generic crazy a-hole. There were two side quests with supposedly "new" renegade members but what they said made no sense and was not consistent with the behavior of the generic renegade enemies seen.

      Juan made it clear he was on the Colonels side the entire game. The PK were always strict like that hell they even hang Juan in front of everyone. The survivors ending is weird tho. The streets are filled with infected but since they have soup kitchens and community everything is good? Makes no sense. For my fifth playthrough after getting all the other endings, I'm giving all facilities but one to PK to make city as secure as possible but give tower to Frank. The survivors would be dead without the PK. Period. They're always helping them also but the survivors are dicks to everyone and can't even kill infected. They just run

      I agree on the PK one. Why kill a whole family if one of the family member break one of the PK's law? It doesn't make any sense. Human population is at the brink of extinction. If one too many break the law. Eventually they're going to run out of civilians, which civilians is important in any civilization as they help bring in the productivity.

      @@MinhNguyen-hz2zn You're right. Too much power in the head causes them to be blindly delusional brutal/complete tyrant with no real logic and rational thinking.

    What ending will I get if I give the tower to Matt, save Mia and there is no one left to take over villedor? If Matt is dead there is no peace keeper ending, if frank is dead there is no survivor ending and if Juan is dead there is no renegade ending but if I let Lawan detonate the bombs what ending do I get?

    • @29SEBA
      @29SEBA ปีที่แล้ว

      The ending depends of whoever takes control of the radio tower, If you give it to Matt and let Lawan detonate the missiles, you'll get the PK ending.

    surivors: somewhat good ending true but they life in fear of zombies and just don't wipe out the zombies witch means more deaths
    peacekeeprs: i say they more of a nautral ending true some people died but they died bc they did something bad like water trieff and other stuff the innocent are safe and PK wipes out the zombies in the city effectivly saveing more people from zombies
    renegades: we can all say it's a bad ending they treat people like trash berly gives any water and are bad
    destroyed: worst ending nothing to say more if u like it u are a sadist (i kinda like it bc i am one to)
    in my opinion PK are the best ending true they somewhat are tyrans and set stirct rules but they eventually make city the last city standing safer by killing all zombies in it also strict rules are needed when apocalypse happens i mean survivors are also one way but people are still dying they life in shadows and wait for god knows if u help PK they set a lot of traps for zombies that are we can say effective while survivors help is giveing u new ways of transport and not going to ground so i stay with PK
