Everything seems to be getting Cummins swapped recently. I just love the grumble of the good old v8.
That is fair, but it’s hard to compete with a diesel for truck related tasks

Those square bodies were the first Chevy & GMC pickups to have an optional bigger cab which was the crew cab that was introduced in 1973. 1973 was also the first year for those square body models too. All of the models except for the regular cab pickups were produced up through 1991. Back to the regular cab pickups, the half tons & three quarter tons were discontinued in 1987, & the one tons were discontinued in 1989. Rewind to 1980 which was the first year for square shaped headlamps & the last year for round shaped headlamps. The square shaped headlamps came standard on models with the Silverado & Sierra Classic trim levels, & optional on models with the other trim levels. 1980 was also the last year for outside hood release.

Those 81 - 82 square bodies with the single headlamps are super rare nowadays.
I still cant believe how fast you got the service truck done, also, the fact that the dooly came with all of those hats is the coolest thing about it, reminds me of that scene in kill bill with the sheriff driving his cop car with a collection of aviators on his dash 😆

Love what you guys have done with the Dually but the service truck is hands down one of my favorite trucks out there. I’ve gotta make some time to road trip down south again and try to have it around one of these shows.

I have a 1984 k20 6.2 diesel with 70k original miles. My dad bought it in 89 for ranch. Replaced service body with a flatbed. Runs strong . Considering putting a service body back on it. Yours looks great. Thanks for yor video

the original owner of the c30 my uncle used to own a body and paint shop which is why the paint looks so good on it. I loved that old boat glad to see its in good hands!
My grandfathers truck like this was white with those exact candy stripes this company must have done several for dealers around the country.

I am not a fan of LS or Cummins swaps, they have been over done imo. Now a 6V53 would be sweet, always wanted to swap one into a square body and follow it with a 10spd
Please don't change anything on the outside of your awesome Dooley. I love everything about it. Go ahead and put a Cummins in it but please don't slam it and change the wheels.
Realistically it’s low on the list of priorities so it’ll stay this way for a long time haha

Those old Chevrolet crew cabs are rare
If anything, keep the same design and give it a fresh repaint

Absolutely love that damn dually lol. Call me crazy though, but does it have a miss? I've noticed it since the first episode with the truck, but maybe it's just the way the exhaust sounds on camera.
Doesn't seem to be missing, since we fix the exhaust leak and changed the plug wires.

Man, that grey early 60s custom mod was the 🏆 for me. I've had a square body and a late 60s C10, but I still think the best look trucks ever to come out of Deetroit were the early 60s Chevy and the mid-50s Ford. To this day they are unmatched for me in styling. And agreed, your duelie will thank you once you transplant a Cummins in her.
Everyone does Cummins swaps….Duramax will stand out in the crowd
I don't why everybody lowers these trucks and puts low profile tires on them you just took the truck out of truck when you do this, an engine swap is alright but I prefer the engine that came with the truck
PLEASE FIND & BUY A 1973 DODGE DART SPORT & SWAP IN A 5.7L HEMI FROM A 2005 OR SO CHALLENGER!!!

Cummins swap is what everyone does put a duramax in it
Put a big super charger on the dually sticking up through where the cowl induction is. Be different cause that truck deserves to stand out in a crowd
Definitely go Cummins just for the reliability and fuel economy.
That overhead THING / KITCHEN CABINET needs to go, it's awful,it will beat your head in if you ( god forbid)have an accident.

Take the camper off and leave it stock ride height but with 20” Alcoa’s
Instead of a Cummins swap drop a Duramax in it
