I find when im depressed or anxious or distressed or just mentally unwell in anyway it helps if a friend can just let me follow them around and hang out with them as they go about their day. Have me run errands with them or sit with them at their workplace if thats possible. Just let me shadow them. I dont need interaction. I just need to be outside my house and with someone who feels safe to me.
Someone safe indeed! Someone patient and not judgmental. I had someone who took me along on their day but made some snide comment at the end of the day how I had no initiative of my own. That was like a kick in an already bruised body part.
I wholeheartedly agree with this strategy. Above all this is what I want most when I'm upset and lonely. I just want to be present, you don't even have to talk to me! It's so hard to get my friends on board with it though...
@@evadebruijnI'm sorry to hear that, that's horrible! Some people hardly can show compassion and understanding. It's like you were punished for trying to do the right thing!
@@Bloated_Tony_Danza Yeah some people have scarily low EQ sometimes. The most painful bit of this story is that it was not just any person but my own mother ✌️
Hi there. I disagree in the sense that Depression, and anxiety is accepted through campaigns. I have severe Depression, anxiety and Complex PTSD. Trust me it's Not that accepted. Sure Schizoaffective Disorder is harder to understand and accept. Be well ❤️🩹
@@kavitadeva I disagree. Depression and anxiety are now socially accepted and even glamorised in the media- both mainstream and social. Severe mental illness like schizophrenia and to a certain extent bipolar are still well outside most people's understanding

This, once again, goes deep on peoples actual lived experience and truly helpful suggestions of support, boundaries etc. As a Genuine empath, being surrounded by people, I actually love to be alone. I feel for people more extroverted who feel they need more social interaction. Opening one's heart to find one's connection with the Divine and SPENDING TIME IN NATURE help us realise we are not truly alone. Both Your channels will definitely add to anyone's life experiencing a sense of loneliness, experiencing stigma or misunderstanding. Thank You for your FABULOUS podcasts on both channels.💐🎉

Some people will, but some people won't. Like if I'm a full time carer for my partner, studying part time and have three kids it might be hard for me to add new people into my life. Others have a lot more free time. Each person is unique. It's not necessarily a reflection of you, but more what the other person's also going through.
To tell someone you have schizophrenia is very personal and needs a lot of trust. Only you can know if that person should be trusted with this information. I had a few bad experiences but I also have meaningful relationsships with wonderful people in my life so I would encourage you to give it a try, whilst listening to your gut as to who can be trusted.
Hey I thank you for this podcast I was diagnosed with psychosis 7 years ago and it was a journey to go thorough it the good and the bad but recently I been struggling with a thought where I think that my brother who has psychosis is doing small aggressions toward me and like cracking his knuckles toward me or getting annoyed towards me or close the door by the time I get there i don't know what's going on so can anyone please help me thank you

What do you recommend me to do? Thank you for that you get people aware of this subject it is so important. 🙏♥️
You didn't ask me this question, however as someone who deals with Mental Illnesses PLEASE, PLEASE do get help. Make sure you find a Psychiatrist you feel good about. A good match. Don't self medicate, in the end it equals more symptoms. Take good care of yourself.
As for me seeking help and connection has helped tremendously. I know it' s not the same for everyone but I personally benefit from talking about my voices. Though I know it is a touchy subject and not everyone will react to this in a good way. Anyway I wish you all the best for your journey. As an encouragement, some of my most treasured and special life experiences came after I started to hear voices. There are still so many things ahead even as a person who is hearibg voices.

Good idea.
It took my family 30 years to even believe I was schizoaffective. Their denial of my illness made me feel exceedingly lonely.
Loneliness causes severe pain, extremely severe and the longer you are left alone the harder it is to get friends anymore 😔
and it becomes addiction 😢

With me having schizophrenia I find it hard to make friends because might get scared of me because of schizophrenia
