    This is the most useful video I've found demonstrating this technique. The fact that it's a jogless cast on is what sealed the deal for me. Any time I need a tutorial, I look at several videos, and time and time again, it's Suzanne Bryan for the win.

    Thank you for this helpul video! It took me five (very frustrating) tries, but now I've got a lovely edge for my hat :)
    What I found most difficult was to not create wide gaps where the two circular needles meet on each side, so that it will become a neat round.

    • @SuzanneBryan
      @SuzanneBryan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those usually go away after a couple of rounds. It is also helpful if you snug up (not too tightly) the first and second stitch after you change needles. Happy Holidays.

  • @nch1646
    @nch1646 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The easiest version of the cast-on I’ve seen! It does require that the knitting is quite tidy, I have so far been getting a rather loose edge whereas with the version where you fold and join two edges makes a very tidy edge but a lot more fiddly!

    • @SuzanneBryan
      @SuzanneBryan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some people find that if they go down a needle size or two for the cast on and double knitting rows, then go up to the preferred size after that, that their ribbing is tidier.

    Wonderful tutorial! Two techniques in one, I have always struggled with provisional cast on with a crochet hook, thank you for this.

      I just finished little toe-up socks with this method (just 2 rows of preparation because they are very small, it's a birth size), it's just perfect!
      Thank you very much for the great lesson!

    I’ve always wanted to learn the kitchener cast on method before I knew what the technical name for it was. A few years ago I bought a nice knitting book to improve
    my skills and I did learn a lot from it but the illustrations and descriptions for Kitchener rib was too confusing and I always gave up. I’ve recently watched a few tutorials but this one is easy to follow and I’m so excited to make a new knit beanie with a beautiful professional looking rib. Thank you!!! This could be called Kitchener rib for dummies..and this dummy is so very grateful..lol!!!
