my dad used to listen to it all the time when I was a kid. this song in particular was burned onto my brain, and I have no desire to get it out of my mind 😅
This song is the spiritual successor of "Come Undone." If it had existed in 1993 and been the third single from "The Wedding Album," I think it would have hit the top ten in the U.S. By 1997, pop radio had moved on from Duran Duran. Alas. It's a shame more people haven't heard this gem.
It worked really good as the "end titles" track for The Saint (1997) starring Val Kilmer and Elizabeth Shue. Cannot help thinking that with the way royalties work in entertainment biz, they are probably drawing the most money from this song and View to a Kill - like somehow the royalties are waaaaay more when movies get re-played, re-syndicated etc versus say regular streams/radio play etc. Oh and probably for Rock Band video game too - the licensing - unless of course that was part of that deal where they signed away their ownership to the Berrow's/record label whoever...
They've never made a bad single whatsoever!!! I absolutely adore them. Some album tracks are not as good, but these STUNNING guys are wonderful. I've met all 5 members, me. Manchester xx
I adore the whole Medazzaland album and its aesthetics, every song and especially Out of my mind. This music was a fresh air for me in 1997 and I will always love this song and album.
I totally agree with you, 1997 Medazzaland album was a new direction in sound for Duran Duran, it was a revamped style from their 1980's songs. I wish that the albums after this one somehow continued this new revamped style. But the others after were not in the same vein as this one. LONG LIVE MEDAZZALAND!!! GLORY BE TO MEDAZZALAND! Also with Barbarella, they actually in a way came back full circle because it was from the 1960's movie Barbarella that they got their name from!
Brilliant song and music composition that was way ahead of its time back then. Sounds just as fresh now as when it was first released. The best Saint soundtrack!
I think I am the only one from my country still listening to Duran Duran and I am proud. Because it's my favorite foreign band since my high school days aside from Bon Jovi.
The old-fashioned images in this video, as well as the song itself, really capture the feeling of a past love that still haunts your memory, even though it strictly belongs to the past and will never come back to life... When music meets psychology. 💘
Time to dive into the album that it's taken me about 25 years to get!. Better late than never eh?. Never seen the video for this one...Duran get spooky!.
John Taylor was involved with alot of the songs on Medazzaland in the studio but he took a sabbatical from the band before completing the album. He took an extended vaca for the promotion for this album & tour and for the following album Pop Trash.
Having gotten into clothing/fashion history over the past year or so, I am loving this 18th century inspired aesthetic! Delicious eye candy! Yes, I know this video has been around for years, but I haven't always had cable or internet access. (Re)discovery is sweet.
I second that! - so perfect for Duran Duran to have that member back who sells his member online: It doesn't get more Warhol-esque than that! Now anyone can own a piece of Duran Duran for a mere $50,-
Bellos como siempre Duran Duran, mi banda favorita; como siempre con sus vídeos únicos que los ha caracterizado desde que los conozco.....los amo a todos chicos...especialmente mi amor platónico ha sido Nick..
I love duran duran i used to have s crush on john the bass player. Now we're all getting old. It sucks but their music will never get old..... Love to duran duran, they have given me alot of good memories. Good old days when a person could actually enjoy themselves. Not anymore! The music of todays world has turn to shit! Dont mean to be ugly times are so different now it sucks
In whispering darkness, do you ever hear my name?...such genius beautiful lyrics!
The soundtrack to The Saint was one of the BEST ever! Great song! Good times! ❣️
As soon as I heard the theme by orbital I knew it to be true...
@@napoleonwilson6499 YES! I still I love that movie! ❣️

Nick has always been so fabulously Goth-adjacent

Fact. Duran have never made a bad record when wearing frilly shirts.
Amen to that! ❤️

This feels like a sequel to Arcadia.
Yes!!! I always thought so too!!! I guess that’s why this video has always been one of my absolute top Duran favorites!
Good point and Warren seen here with Simon and Nick does kind of look like Roger Taylor
💯%
Such a ridiculously good album. Still listen to it this day
It does have that vibe, doesn't it?
driving a volvo c 70 with this song on the route of the 7 lakes, patagonia, argentina!! a great duran duran song!!! greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷

Finally a higher quality version of this great song!
There are tons of remixes that are pretty cool.
Heard plenty of them back in my club daze
Love this song , it has a 007 vibe to it in the background . They truly are iconic
A hidden gem from the mid 90s on The Saint soundtrack.
Another masterpiece from Duran Duran.
No song is weak from the medazzaland album. But Out of my mind
is something special.
“Light a candle....lay flowers at the door. !!” Sets the mood!!! Love this song.
Out Of My Mind is magical like Arcadia's songs or The Seventh Stranger...
What a great Era of my life when songs meant something special. The malencoly of this song is beautiful
I love this band!!! Thank you for everything you’ve shared with us over the years.
Sooooo true their music will live on 4-ever.....
Best Band ever.

I love this. I believe that this song is the closest that Duran got to sounding like Arcadia.
Simon's voice ❤️
As a DD, DM and the Cure fan, I find this a work of art 😍

2023... And here I am. Love Duran-duran since I was still a kid.
I went to go see "The Saint" 3 times, just to hear this song in the ending credits.

A real classic! Love the video. It’s so “New Romantic “!
Seriously, Medazzaland is one of DD's best albums and this song is a great example.
how does Simon Lebon know what I am thinking or what I am going thru and put it to words Everytime Every song amazing stuff.
I think I am the only one from my country still listening to Duran Duran and I am proud. Because it's my favorite foreign band since my high school days aside from Bon Jovi.
Seriously need to get Warren back. Medazzaland was epic as was this song!
Exactly!
A Epic Track from Duran Duran

What a great song! "Out Of My Mind" and "Electric Barbarella" are vintage Duran Duran. Medazzaland is an underrated album.
i loved it ever since i heard it on new years eve one night when they played it on tv
Now bring the “Someone Else Not Me”video, the only one without an official release.

Always different and that is the power of them. Simply art.
When I die I want to go back to the 80's and watch Duran Duran take over the world all over again.
This song was epic in the ending of "The Saint" movie
The best of the movie xP

Better than 98% of the singles rereleased today. Sounds great. Quality music sounds so good.
Funny how you can hear a song a million times and it just takes the right life circumstances for it to finally click.

Temazo!! Muy Arcadia !! DD necesita urgente un guitarrista como Warren!!! Saludos desde Argentina!!
Sino Warren se junta con Crosses o con Richard Coleman
One of my faves of that era...love the video too! Byron is Simon and Dandy Nick is where it’s at!
One of the best bands ever!!!
Would be very cool to have Warren back. He paid his dues to be a true member!!!
The only PERFECT replacement for Andy Taylor. And that's very big shoes to fill.
Warren and Graham together or Warren and Dom (ignore the innuendo , we’re trying to clean Warren’s image)
Andy and Dom never played for Frank Zappa.
