In the 80's Duran Duran was often dismissed as a teenager's pin up band. They weren't taken for the serious musicians and artists they clearly are. As a long time fan I can say they have just gotten better and better. Saw them live again over summer and it was even better than the shows I'd seen previously. They aren't up there just going through the motions. They truly love performing for fans and playing great music with one another. There is true love within the band. It's a friendship and partnership and artistry that as withstood the test of time. I can't wait for the new album, this single is exceptional. What a fun song and video!
The popularity of Duran Duran as a teenybop band was a deliberate move on the band's part. They wanted to break in America and decided the best way to do that was to appeal to the tween set, so that's how they aimed their publicity, appearing in Tiger Beat and Teen Beat etc. It worked - they were HUGE in America and #1 in the WORLD at the time of Live Aid - but when the tweenagers inevitably aged out of liking them they found themselves in a world where teens were more into New Kids on the Block and the adults didn't take them seriously because, well, they were a teenybop band. It took them a long time to regain their status as a serious band. I'm glad they stuck around!
@@SarahB1863Your opinion on they lost a lot of fans who didn't take them serious, is very pointed, just my opinion. Just saw this post- I'm 49 and have been into BLACK metal for over 25 years, but my passion for Duran Duran has never died. They were my first favorite band; I'm estimating that was a few years before 85 because I remember freaking out when I heard Simon almost died in the yacht race incident! I'm so proud of them. My passion has been rekindled once again; I saw them live this past November and I'll be traveling to catch them several times in 2025! If you would have told me in 1981 this band would still be making music in 2024 I would have told you were crazy. This band is a huge testament of time. Keep rocking Duran Duran
Duran Duran has surpassed all expectations and limits - what a band. How can Duran Duran, this late in career --- be this productive, vital , fresh, and catchy ?
How? Because they've been honing their craft for decades and are incredibly talented. Careers aren't over by an abitrary decade. They go until they don't any more. True for one hit wonders, true for musicians who have decades long experience and are legends of music- i.e. Duran Duran
I bought the new Duran Duran album danse macabre DeLuxe today. A really great album. All the tracks are just great. The fact that Andy Taylor is on it makes it even more perfect. All tracks whether from Duran Duran or cover tracks are masterful.

@joaobarbosa150 No it won't, my sister and I went to see them at the Hydro in Glasgow early this year and it was packed with fans, and the band are in the video with their faces turned into creepy masks with motion capture. We still like their music, regardless of the tools they are using to make their video's. DD are practically the only band from the 1980's that has survived beyond that decade, because they kept up with "times" and trends that every decade after had to offer and "reinvented" themselves along with it.
I like heavy metal, but in the 80's Duran Duran was one of my favorite bands I have their albums and although unfortunately I have not been able to see them live, they will never come to my country if I have seen several of their concerts on TH-cam, they continue being very good and it seems that they are reinventing themselves
I had to watch, now this song will be going through my head for days!!! EXCELLENT video! The graphics, artistry... everything is gorgeous. Seeinng the guys as corpses is glorious. The Danse Macabre is well represented here.
Wow! You know....when I was 12 and fell in love with Duran I didn't really know the amazing ride they'd take me on for another 40 years. Thank you for not only bringing me tons of great moments and memories....but for setting the bar on my choices in music and entertainment.
Creepy and cool!! Just in time for Halloween!! I agree with other fans here. At 13, I didn't realize just how talented they were, and at 53, I can appreciate them even more. This is why they deserved to be in hall of fame years ago!
Love the sound of the bell on that ride cymbal. Cuts thru like nobody's business. Always thought Roger was underrated as a drummer. Always really liked his drumming in "So Red The Rose" or Arcadia for those who haven't heard them. I know all Duranies know who that is but maybe somewhere in the world someone doesn't lol.
I was lucky enough to see them perform this, for the first time, at Blossom Music Center this past weekend. I swear they are like a fine wine that just keeps getting better with age.
I came here looking for the classical piece by Camille Saint-Saens and found something... different. I'll admit that the first time I heard this, I didn't much care for it as I was looking for the aformentioned classical La Danse Macabre, thinking this was a cover of it done by an 80's band I've never really listened to. Fast forward a few days and I find myself back here listening to it again. Guess I'm just kinda here now and loving every second of it.
DURAN DURAN R THE MASTERS OF MUSIC AND ART...THIS GROUP OF ARTISTS NEVER STOP BEING INNOVATORS....SIMPLY AMAZING..SOME OF THE ARTISTS WE HAVE ON THE MUSIC SCENE CANT HOLD..SHALL WE SAY...A CANDLE 2 THEM...
Awe it’s epic and so good to finally have Warren back in the fold! Reminds me a little of Arcadia days. Class. Sheer class! Edgy, new, love it thanks DD!
Having Andy on the mend and knowing that his guitar will be on the upcoming tracks is such a gift to the fans. The guys have to know that Andy is the special sauce that is missing and no matter what, the sound doesn't feel full unless he's with them. Hopeful that forgiveness is in the cards and that they continue to make records together knowing how short life is.

DD are practically the only band from the 1980's that has survived beyond that decade, because they kept up with "times" and trends that every decade after had to offer and "reinvented" themselves along with it.
Same! It's endlessly catchy!
Omg..this is great. They still got it.
This is brilliant...and you can hear that they are doing this for the music not money.
Danse Macabre is a world-class music choice! Bravo, good sir!!!
wAAAAAA....I hope see them In México some day. They are so magnifique!!
I only came across this about ten minutes ago, and to be honest I've never seen it before.
AND I LOVE IT! 😃
Everything about it is SUPERB!
Love Duran Duran but NEVER been so excited for an album. "halloween" + Duran Duran.... just take my money....
BOTH SONG AND VIDEO ARE AMAZING, THIS COULD GET TO NUMBER ONE METHINKS, NOT THAT CHART POSITIONS MATTER.
I so totally agree Amy!!!
LOVE IT... just another example of Duran Duran not being just a pop band. The dark side fit you well. WELL DONE Boys!!!!!!!
A new DD tune in a Tim Burton style video, I adore !! DD still innovative ! Thanks a lot for being there for us in 2023 !
I was lucky enough to see them perform this, for the first time, at Blossom Music Center this past weekend. I swear they are like a fine wine that just keeps getting better with age.
Wow, This is something you ll Never Forget. I m Searching the TH-cam now, I know some ppl uploaded stuff From that gig ❤
They didn't perform this at Blossom. Last night in DC was the debut.
I always loved Duran Duran but it was when I heard the title "tiger tiger" that I knew they were exceptional musicians. The proof is here. Bravo !
Guess I'm just kinda here now and loving every second of it.
i REALLY wish Arcadia would put out a new album♥ What an amazing project that was! This reminds me a wee bit of Arcadia in its dark moodiness innit?
Recently I had an Arcadia revival. I jogged for months with their remix album on my headphones.

Not sure STILL why this is not all over the radio! My god this is a good song.
Been a fan since 1981. The Duranies are still here! Still loving this music 🎵🎶🎉.
Awe it’s epic and so good to finally have Warren back in the fold! Reminds me a little of Arcadia days. Class. Sheer class! Edgy, new, love it thanks DD!
Great band, great sound always in whatever occasion. One of the best band ever. Simon's voice improving with age... Incredibile ❤
Wow thank you for being there for all of us real music lovers!! This song is simply MAGNIFIQUE!!! We love you
Forty-two years later and you are still top of your game. Been with you every step of the way and enjoyed every second. Can't wait for the new album!
Another masterpiece of this legendary band
Absolutely phenomenal.. gave me goosebumps. It’s so damn good.! The song, the video …everything!
Yesssssssss!!! This album makes me so happy!!!
I’ve listened to this song over and over. I just heard the Paper Gods sound. So, lovely and eerie at the same time.
What the hell? Are Duran Duran allowed to be heavy? This is good stuff.
I have to say I'm surprised this is not getting more comments/Likes. I'm loving it more every time it spins through my playlist.
Probably wait until closer to the release date for that. I hope it gets more air time in the media too.
@@jamessolly3030Yeah, I only just stumbled across it on TH-cam yesterday. I haven't heard it on the radio at all.
I agree with you about Andy. Warren is credited on this track.
Well said. I totally agree. Having Andy Taylor play guitar on their songs is the icing on the cake for DD.
Warren is better... just saying
I never missed Andy! It would be nice for them to perform together again.
They never rip you off do they. both on album and for what i witnessed this year at the concert i was at, they dont do that platinum ticket nonsence. 2 albums in 18 months, and this one with every Duran member. Astoundingly Phenomenal. Theyre the last of a dying breed.
Ridiculous!!!! How many more legendary bangers can the boys put out!!!...... Lucky indeed Deathtank lucky indeed
