I have been replacing my underwear and bras with prettier versions and I love to see them, draped on my dresser, waiting for me. I also replaced most of my sleep wear with more lingerie type sleepwear. What a confidence booster! I am very visual, so it has increased my happiness.
One thing I wish lingerie companies could understand is that not all smaller cupped women prefer thin/stringy bands. I'm a B cup, but I prefer thick bands because they provide better support and promote better posture. Unfortunately most brands assume women who wear smaller cups mean they have no back fat.
Yes, I noticed that! When I was researching the topic, I did notice that there are definitely certain “molds”, such as tiny straps for small cup bras and giant - not pretty - ones for supper supportive bras! Also I have read that some cup sizes are the same and just the band size changes in some brands! As a whole the industry should improve and evolve .... but didn’t seem to move at all in all these years!
I'm between a 32-34 in band size. I know that there are bras out there where the 34 would have 3 hooks at the back, but the size 32 would only have 2. It's like why?!?! I have a large cup size, and it's so much more comfortable if a bra has three to four hooks to distribute the tension better.
When I was very young and somewhat of a newlywed, I was vacuuming our home in the nude. My husband was outside and the postman needed to use our phone ( decades before cell phones). About the accidents part, my mom always made me wear a pair of shorts underneath a dress or skirt for this reason. They can also help with smoothing the lines of the garments and reduce the chance of the latter riding up.
We do, it's true! Usually, one of our breasts is (at least) slightly larger/smaller than the other one. There are so many different shapes of breasts, too.
I was the fitting specialist at my local Victoria Secret and I really enjoyed my job because I was able to get women fitted properly and some of them got teary-eyed and then I started to tear up. I miss working there..
I was a 'bra barista' at La Vie en Rose for a couple years. Some wonderful (and sad) experiences. The actual shape of the cup is often the biggest stumbling block for ladies. You would think with all those women working together there would be squabbles, but no, it was the most supportive working environment ever. :)
I think to add to the point about getting fitted annually; it's important to get fitted by someone who genuinely wants to help you find your size, instead of simply trying to sell you products from their brands. I'm an unusual size where I'm from, and I've literally been fitted by people who could clearly see that the size they've suggested gave me quad boobs, doesn't even SIT properly on me, with the back band riding up before I even walk around the changing room. & Yet they had the gall to say, 'yep, that fits fine'. All because their brands don't carry my actual sizes (you can only 'sister-size' up so much before the fit becomes horrible in general). So ladies, when you try on a bra, and it doesn't immediately feel 1) comfortable and 2) supportive, put it back no matter how pretty it looks or what the fitter says. There'll be others.
Great advice! I am a bit blunt in these cases, and I literally call them out, I ask them “so you would wear this although this, that and that are not fitting correctly?” If there is one thing that infuriates me is someone try to just do a sale without and care for you, your hard earned money, nor trying to genuinely help you or provide great customer service, they just see the dollar sign! ... oh don’t get me started 😂😂❤️.
A sales lady at Victoria's Secret did that to me when I was younger. When I tried to fit into stuff from them, I'd fall out on both the top and the bottom. I'm grateful for brands like Pour Moi, Fantasie, and Parfait among others that actually manufacture bras above size DDD.

Hello Annalisa! I am American. I took your advice and within a budget, I replaced all my underwear (except some which I keep for exercising) with beautiful and quality lingerie. I have to tell you that it has increased my confidence greatly as I find pleasure in pretty things. My seasonal color pallette is Dark Autumn, and I wanted some fun yet mature colors for me, so I keep only navy and maroon sets from a good store. My fiance and I are very happy. You gave me that extra push to want to get something nice and worth it!

Once I realised what shapes of bra actually fit my body and stopped wearing bras with underwires my relationship whith bras actually changed! I feel so much more confortable now

And from my short time there, I can say you really nailed the key, important information!!! Fittings are very important!!! I could honestly sleep in every bra I own. And I wear wire bra's. I could even not wear it but I would feel like something is missing. I also like wearing my completino (if have an accident 😅) because to me lingerie is like an accessory. Absolutely necessary. I mind to wear smooth bra under t-shirts but I like wearing a black lace bra under a white shirt. 💕
I’m American and consider my lingerie to include all my bras, panties, camis, slips, petticoats and (rarely worn) shape wear. My two main priorities for lingerie are comfort and not showing through my clothes, so I favor simpler styles. I love those sexy, lacy bras and undies, but always have problems with show-through in them. I don’t buy sets, because I might wear a bra twice before washing it, so I wouldn’t have enough bras to match the undies I need. I only wear bras in public, so it’s only for an hour or two each wearing, nowadays. I buy silk undies and slips when I can, and high-end, mostly t-shirt, bras. I can’t stand thong panties, so I wear bikinis, briefs or boyshorts, whichever works best with my skirt, dress, or trousers. I try to buy only nude and black, but sometimes get stuck with colors, when I buy a multi-pack. I have to admit, my lingerie is on the utilitarian, rather than the sexy, side.
I don't get a new bra every year, but I don't think I have to because I own quite the collection 😅 I have about 6 bras for daily use which I alternate between and also a couple lacey ones for more special occasions...
I am currently in the process of renewing my lingerie drawer. This time around, I thought I would order from a few new brands. Everything is being returned tomorrow. ( I bought it online) The only brands I can wear and be comfortable with are Empreinte and Prima Donna. Annalisa, Great advice, I’ve never been professionally fitted for a bra. My breast size was 34C since I gained weight my breast size is 34DD, plus as we age our breasts do fall. I was one who always wore a bra no matter what because I thought it would keep my breast from falling so untrue. I noticed since I’ve been losing weight I am now 34D which accounts for my breast falling due to my age, gravity is taking over. Now on the side of my breasts, I’ve to notice extra skin so now I have to be cautious about what bras I need to purchase to cover that up…. it’s a vicious circle. This video is such an eye-opener, and it is such a pleasure to listen to your advice, tips and tricks not only on lingerie, but on style in general as well. I am 32 and still discovering what my style is, what fabrics and shapes fit my body (I spent the first 30 years wearing only pants/jeans due to body insecurity - cellulite and stronger hips - that was instilled in me by my family, friends, boyfriends, but also social media) and it is only now that I gained some confidence and started discovering dresses and skirts, but never before have I paid so much attention to the choice of lingerie. Lots of good info ! My mother had me believing that I would wear the same size bra as her . It was such an improvement when I went for a bigger cup size . Here in N America I believe we equate 'lingerie' with itchy uncomfortable lace - something to avoid .

I agree except for this: no matchy-matchy lingerie for me. The first style&etiquette expert I learned from gave me the idea that matching sets is for people who can't match things on their own. So like bra+panties set, winter hat+scarf+gloves set, purse+shoes set, I just don't like. I prefer mix and match, because it shows more personality. I see more attention to detail in someone who got for example a hat and scarf that are not the same set, but have a thing in common, maybe a texture or a color.

In the last year i've started investing time and money into buying quality lingerie and it is so worth it! Wearing nice undergarments not only makes you feel so much better and more put together on the inside, but also on the outside. A proper fitting bra can improve your posture and help with back pain. Doing your research and investing in great underwear is the best use of time and money. And a lot of the time, well made garments are very comparable in price to the trendy, big name brands that aren't as well made.

I used to get frustrated not being able to use those beautiful bras that have a bit of lace on the top because for my daily use I always go for totally plain cups as I dont want them to be noticed, however, I have reacently realized that I can wear those femenine and delicate ones in winter since I wear layers and tick wollen jumpers with patterns/texture :)

My bra size has changed so much while I had and nursed 8 children. Now that I'm almost out of that phase of life, I'm trying to construct a good lingerie wardrobe. Some of these brand I know, I have liked Adore Me also, anyone else try them?
I always question the statistic about how many women wear the "wrong size." I have been sized by professionals who tried to put me in bras that incredibly uncomfortable on more than one occasion. I think women are the best judges of what the "right size" is, especially since it can change based on the brand, style of bra, etc. Love the Italian attitude toward 'lingerie'! Makes so much more sense to buy lingerie that is cute and comfortable so you can wear it every day.
I thought I was the right judge of fit of bras as teen grabbing 34 b's . I was incredibly wrong and when I got fitted got a 32b . For 17 years of my life even getting fitted at VS I learned I wore the wrong style of bra the whole time because the US doesn't cater to small band sizes plus as my boobs got a bit bigger but my band did not. Now as a grown woman I found a bra after getting fitted at a higher end boutique I've been wearing the wrong "sistersize" 32 B because they don't have my bra band after one exasperated sales women told me to "go somewhere else we don't carry your size" which is actually a 30C. I finally found a boutique that sells European cut lingerie got me a nice 30C nude everyday after trying on 30 bras and ordering it in the color I wanted and its been a game changer! No more plucking adjusting etc .

In US sizes I'm a 38M (or a 38J in UK sizing) so honestly I'll take whatever I can get. Bras in sizes like that have to be ordered online and are quite expensive. Since I can only afford two wire bras (light pink and black) I do choose lacy, unlined bras, but it's not like I have much variety. Because of this, I buy underwear in the same colors so I can usually coordinate and I can try more styles on the bottom

Absolutely wonderful post. I already do this so I am good - I am always tempted by the pattern bras - leopard print, hearts, polka dots, but have never purchased one - because what if there an accident. What would they think hearts leopard print and polka dots. Unfortunately we- especially women- are judged by appearance. We garner respect by how we look. It’s unfortunate but until it changes just work with it. And who doesn’t want to be pretty all over?
I have just found your channel, I really enjoyed your video, informative and respectful, very nice. One thing I would like to add, that worked well for me at 47, is to do exercises for the breasts, it took me a couple of weeks to strengthen the muscles that support the breasts and I love the way I look and feel and the bras fit much better. The exercises may take less than five minutes and the results are noticeable, a friend noticed the change in me. There are many TH-cam channels that show exercises for the breasts. Years ago I got "fitted" professionally for bras, It was one of the best investments I had ever made. I have not be able to find a professional within a 2 hour range of me in a couple years so a group of us are scheduled to all go to Chicago and make a girls road trip. It will be an event!

Usually handwash hang dry will help your lingerie last longer . Don't wring molded cups or you damage the foam its made of. I wear the same bra over a chemise for 3 days and wash when it smells bad. The chemise gets changed daily. Usually 2 -3 bras per week for me 2 everyday and 1 workout bra
Truly, my son was in a car crash and his clothing- and underwear- had to be cut off. He was wearing Calvin Klein trunks, he was very fussy about his clothes. :) Every time I leave the house I am very aware that I may not come back so everything is always left very neat and tidy. It would be courting disaster to go out with dishes in the sink and not so nice undies :)

Thank you for this informative and ❤️ beautifully put together video. A proper fitting bra, and lingerie in general, is truly the basis for any outfit. I’ve come to realize that I avoid wearing some bras because of the uncomfortable fit. I’ve set these aside when I did a much needed de clutter. I refuse to continue wearing bras and underwear that are uncomfortable. Now my search begins for some new bras and I’ll have to be patient for the stores to fully open in the Netherlands.

There are a number of labels catering specifically to small busts showing up now! Pepper, Lulalu, and AIKYOU are a few.
I wish they understood enormous cupped women like pretty bras too. They're never as cute. And 4 clasps are a must.

A sales lady at Victoria's Secret did that to me when I was younger. When I tried to fit into stuff from them, I'd fall out on both the top and the bottom. I'm grateful for brands like Pour Moi, Fantasie, and Parfait among others that actually manufacture bras above size DDD.

Hello Annalisa! I am American. I took your advice and within a budget, I replaced all my underwear (except some which I keep for exercising) with beautiful and quality lingerie. I have to tell you that it has increased my confidence greatly as I find pleasure in pretty things. My seasonal color pallette is Dark Autumn, and I wanted some fun yet mature colors for me, so I keep only navy and maroon sets from a good store. My fiance and I are very happy. You gave me that extra push to want to get something nice and worth it!

I went to a soma store they have nice things but if you have a small band size like I do 30C.. they don't have it.
Once I realised what shapes of bra actually fit my body and stopped wearing bras with underwires my relationship whith bras actually changed! I feel so much more confortable now

And from my short time there, I can say you really nailed the key, important information!!! Fittings are very important!!! I could honestly sleep in every bra I own. And I wear wire bra's. I could even not wear it but I would feel like something is missing. I also like wearing my completino (if have an accident 😅) because to me lingerie is like an accessory. Absolutely necessary. I mind to wear smooth bra under t-shirts but I like wearing a black lace bra under a white shirt. 💕

I’m American and consider my lingerie to include all my bras, panties, camis, slips, petticoats and (rarely worn) shape wear. My two main priorities for lingerie are comfort and not showing through my clothes, so I favor simpler styles. I love those sexy, lacy bras and undies, but always have problems with show-through in them. I don’t buy sets, because I might wear a bra twice before washing it, so I wouldn’t have enough bras to match the undies I need. I only wear bras in public, so it’s only for an hour or two each wearing, nowadays. I buy silk undies and slips when I can, and high-end, mostly t-shirt, bras. I can’t stand thong panties, so I wear bikinis, briefs or boyshorts, whichever works best with my skirt, dress, or trousers. I try to buy only nude and black, but sometimes get stuck with colors, when I buy a multi-pack. I have to admit, my lingerie is on the utilitarian, rather than the sexy, side.
I don't get a new bra every year, but I don't think I have to because I own quite the collection 😅 I have about 6 bras for daily use which I alternate between and also a couple lacey ones for more special occasions...

I am currently in the process of renewing my lingerie drawer. This time around, I thought I would order from a few new brands. Everything is being returned tomorrow. ( I bought it online) The only brands I can wear and be comfortable with are Empreinte and Prima Donna. I can wear them all day and into the evening without feeling the need to take them off as soon as I am home. Thank you for yet another enjoyable/informative video. Have a lovely week ahead.

Great advice, I’ve never been professionally fitted for a bra. My breast size was 34C since I gained weight my breast size is 34DD, plus as we age our breasts do fall. I was one who always wore a bra no matter what because I thought it would keep my breast from falling so untrue. I noticed since I’ve been losing weight I am now 34D which accounts for my breast falling due to my age, gravity is taking over. Now on the side of my breasts, I’ve to notice extra skin so now I have to be cautious about what bras I need to purchase to cover that up…. it’s a vicious circle. This video is such an eye-opener, and it is such a pleasure to listen to your advice, tips and tricks not only on lingerie, but on style in general as well. I am 32 and still discovering what my style is, what fabrics and shapes fit my body (I spent the first 30 years wearing only pants/jeans due to body insecurity - cellulite and stronger hips - that was instilled in me by my family, friends, boyfriends, but also social media) and it is only now that I gained some confidence and started discovering dresses and skirts, but never before have I paid so much attention to the choice of lingerie. I will definitely appreciate more this aspect of clothing in the future, and I guess my present partner (who is Italian btw) will appreciate it as well. :) Thank you Annalisa!

Lots of good info ! My mother had me believing that I would wear the same size bra as her . It was such an improvement when I went for a bigger cup size . Here in N America I believe we equate 'lingerie' with itchy uncomfortable lace - something to avoid .
Ha ha one of my friend said the same about itchy lace (she is also American)! I had to take her shopping and she was mind blown when trying something comfortable and pretty for the first time 😂❤️

I agree except for this: no matchy-matchy lingerie for me. The first style&etiquette expert I learned from gave me the idea that matching sets is for people who can't match things on their own. So like bra+panties set, winter hat+scarf+gloves set, purse+shoes set, I just don't like. I prefer mix and match, because it shows more personality. I see more attention to detail in someone who got for example a hat and scarf that are not the same set, but have a thing in common, maybe a texture or a color.

In the last year i've started investing time and money into buying quality lingerie and it is so worth it! Wearing nice undergarments not only makes you feel so much better and more put together on the inside, but also on the outside. A proper fitting bra can improve your posture and help with back pain. Doing your research and investing in great underwear is the best use of time and money. And a lot of the time, well made garments are very comparable in price to the trendy, big name brands that aren't as well made.

I used to get frustrated not being able to use those beautiful bras that have a bit of lace on the top because for my daily use I always go for totally plain cups as I dont want them to be noticed, however, I have reacently realized that I can wear those femenine and delicate ones in winter since I wear layers and tick wollen jumpers with patterns/texture :)

I always question the statistic about how many women wear the "wrong size." I have been sized by professionals who tried to put me in bras that incredibly uncomfortable on more than one occasion. I think women are the best judges of what the "right size" is, especially since it can change based on the brand, style of bra, etc.
Love the Italian attitude toward 'lingerie'! Makes so much more sense to buy lingerie that is cute and comfortable so you can wear it every day.
I thought I was the right judge of fit of bras as teen grabbing 34 b's . I was incredibly wrong and when I got fitted got a 32b . For 17 years of my life even getting fitted at VS I learned I wore the wrong style of bra the whole time because the US doesn't cater to small band sizes plus as my boobs got a bit bigger but my band did not. Now as a grown woman I found a bra after getting fitted at a higher end boutique I've been wearing the wrong "sistersize" 32 B because they don't have my bra band after one exasperated sales women told me to "go somewhere else we don't carry your size" which is actually a 30C. I finally found a boutique that sells European cut lingerie got me a nice 30C nude everyday after trying on 30 bras and ordering it in the color I wanted and its been a game changer! No more plucking adjusting etc .
@@HosCreates That's great! It has not been my experience haha. I once got a "professionally fitted" bra that rubbed the skin off my ribs. Now I make the final call about whether or not it "fits."

In US sizes I'm a 38M (or a 38J in UK sizing) so honestly I'll take whatever I can get. Bras in sizes like that have to be ordered online and are quite expensive. Since I can only afford two wire bras (light pink and black) I do choose lacy, unlined bras, but it's not like I have much variety. Because of this, I buy underwear in the same colors so I can usually coordinate and I can try more styles on the bottom

Unfortunately we- especially women- are judged by appearance. We garner respect by how we look. It’s unfortunate but until it changes just work with it. And who doesn’t want to be pretty all over?

I have just found your channel, I really enjoyed your video, informative and respectful, very nice. One thing I would like to add, that worked well for me at 47, is to do exercises for the breasts, it took me a couple of weeks to strengthen the muscles that support the breasts and I love the way I look and feel and the bras fit much better. The exercises may take less than five minutes and the results are noticeable, a friend noticed the change in me. There are many TH-cam channels that show exercises for the breasts. I hope it is useful. Thanks a lot for the video!

Years ago I got "fitted" professionally for bras, It was one of the best investments I had ever made. I have not be able to find a professional within a 2 hour range of me in a couple years so a group of us are scheduled to all go to Chicago and make a girls road trip. It will be an event!

I would like to explain How does take care of the langerie ? And Is it possible to use the same bra for more days ? Also I like to explain How does fix the bras? And When is it need to change?
Usually handwash hang dry will help your lingerie last longer . Don't wring molded cups or you damage the foam its made of. I wear the same bra over a chemise for 3 days and wash when it smells bad. The chemise gets changed daily. Usually 2 -3 bras per week for me 2 everyday and 1 workout bra

Truly, my son was in a car crash and his clothing- and underwear- had to be cut off. He was wearing Calvin Klein trunks, he was very fussy about his clothes. :)
Every time I leave the house I am very aware that I may not come back so everything is always left very neat and tidy. It would be courting disaster to go out with dishes in the sink and not so nice undies :)

Thank you for this informative and ❤️ beautifully put together video. A proper fitting bra, and lingerie in general, is truly the basis for any outfit. I’ve come to realize that I avoid wearing some bras because of the uncomfortable fit. I’ve set these aside when I did a much needed de clutter. I refuse to continue wearing bras and underwear that are uncomfortable. Now my search begins for some new bras and I’ll have to be patient for the stores to fully open in the Netherlands.
