- These glasses have built in prisms, which bend the light path by 90 degrees. So instead of looking ahead, you are looking down! Or, as the blurb says, if you are lying down in a horizontal position, on a sofa or on a bed, you will be looking towards your feet! You could use them to read a book or watch tv while lying down. So they can also be called Lazy Glasses!
The manufacturer advises against wearing these while walking or in motion generally, as you can become disorientated.
We were very impressed with the build quality of these glasses, which are very solidly made. Also the prisms appear to be made of glass, as far as we can tell.

It is said that only Tim can look at the clouds inside a room.
If you use a finger to track the text while reading, with your head looking straight rather than down, it will appear that you are reading by touch, lol.

They have a looking up version meant for rock climbing. Since someone has to be at the bottom of the cliff belaying the climber, they wear these to look up the wall instead of getting a kink in their neck looking straight up.
Very clever indeed.
There are versions of these that look straight up. They are popular amongst climbers as the person belaying doesn't have to tilt their head to keep looking up!

It seems like it be really uncomfortable to sit like that and read a book unless the text was quite large. When I read, I like to take my glasses off and put the book really close to my face. It's just more comfortable that way.
But I can definitely see these for the TV example that Tim was talking about.

I bought a larger pair of these to watch my computer when i am lying on my bed, does not work that well as they do not point straight down, also i need to wear glasses to see further than half a metre

there are actually ones produced pointed up. they are made for people belaying rock climbers so they dont have to strain their necks.

timmy41 depends on how prone you are to motion sickness, you get about the same effect when you "relocate" your eyes like that. if you aren't prone to motion sickness you could likely lay down with a book and these glasses for a pretty long time without a headache or nausea.
this would be great for dogs if they wore it upside down because dogs cant look up
