We tried out Hawaiian food today! There's a new spot in St Marys called the Big Big Aloha. They started off as a food truck in Parklea Markets, and now they have their own shop! They do Hawaiian BBQ, delicious salmon poke (done the traditional way), Hawaiian style breakfast, loco moco, spam musubi, some amazing fried chicken - just everything you can possibly imagine on a Hawaiian diner's menu!

AS A NATIVE HAWAIIAN BORN AND RAISED FROM HAWAI'I I RESPECTFULLY DECLINE. THIS IS MIX PLATES IN HAWAII NOT HAWAIIAN FOOD AT ALL. THIS IS FOOD YOU WILL FIND AT LIKE AN L&L NOT AT A PLACE LIKE HIGHWAY INN WHERE THERE IS REAL AUTHENTIC HAWAIIAN FOOD !! & A LOCO MOCO IS $10 AT THE MOST NOT NO FUCKING $19 Y'ALL GETTING RIP OFF!! SAD HOW PEOPLE REPRESENTING HAWAII AND HAWAIIAN CULTURE AND NOT EVEN NOR KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!!! SAD VIDEO

@@Coolwow437 excuse ur 2 cents but where was the hate? For telling the truth? This is not Hawaiian food and anyone Born & Raised in Hawaii would agree. I never said anything a out his food being shitty or anything I just simply pin pointed the obvious and if you we're Hawaiian from the island you would understand that he is living a dream based off of my heritage, my culture and he doesnt even know the food. The food he serves is not authentic Hawaiian food.

Wow! Everything looks so ‘ono! We normally call these foods “Local Food.” When people from a bunch of different countries came to work in Hawai’i back in the late 1800’s, obviously their amazing recipes came with them. So local food is a combination of all the different food that was introduced to Hawai’i. And then we have Hawaiian food like, Laulau, Kalua Pig, Poi…things like that. So cool to see the cuisine of Hawaii stick with people so much they take it with them and do great things with it!

They're Samoan - not Hawaiian but STILL Polynesian that run this joint. So whats your point??? I'd rather a Sa or any Poly do Hawaiian. Hawaiian food can either be the modernised mish mash of cultures that came to Hawaii like Japanese, Portuguese, Korean and anyone else...then Authentic Hawaiian from the original Native cuisine from the original peoples not some pinoy tryin to pass as one - Poke (the real poke), Poi, lau lau etc which are standard fare any polynesian cuisine has a version.

fillipino food had little influence on hawaiian food. I don't think there is even a handful of fillipino restaurants on honolulu island. Now there is a distinction between hawaii food and hawaiian food (poi, lomi lomi salmon, haupia, lau lau). Marcus probably doesn't call 'luau pork,' kalua pork, because he wants to be politically correct or accurate but it's not necessary in this situation. Takes too much time and effort to cook kalua pork in the imu (buried pit), but since just about every restaurant does it in the oven replete with liquid smoke, it's alright for marcus to call luau pork, 'kalua pork.' He won't offend anybody. Nobody calls it 'luau pork' in the entire islands, never heard it until today.

    • @SydneyFoodBoy

@@SydneyFoodBoy btw, kalua pork should be instead 'kalua pig.' You might get away with 'kalua pork', but if you said 'luau pork,' you'd get an odd look back from the person you're talking too, and a ceremonial "where you from?", lol.

Dear God💗❤️♥️💖💕💕💖💕❤️💞🙏in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the , life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in the bible that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as my Lord. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Amen.

SAD VIDEO

Not sure if you know we are in Australia not Hawaii. $19 for a Loco Moco is actually not bad considering the only other way to get it is buy a plane ticket to Hawaii $500 and then a taxi to Highway $25 Inn and then buy a loco moco $10…. So you can get ours for $19 or get a REAL one for $535…I think our community would respectfully decline.

Well done brother - you've officially gone from unbiased food reviews on TH-cam to a biased influencer lured by the temptation of a free meal. Sad. Of course you're gonna say everything was amazing when the meal was free and you've interviewed the owner. Influencer life.

Hey there B. Actually I had a budget to work with to support a small business (a collaboration I was doing for another social media platform), so I decided to support The Big Big Aloha with it and take the opportunity to film a TH-cam video too! I interview the owners when I can because it makes me happy to give them a platform to share their story. I want to use my channel to support and help others, and I'm trying my very best.
I've never been a food critic. I just love food and hope to share that joy with others. Clearly my channel is just not the right fit for you!
