As a UX designer for many years, watching Joshua, Blunty and Ghost fumble around the Velocidrone UI was painful and a clear demonstration how some simple tweaks to the interface and nomenclature could lift the user experience so much for a novice user. I love Velocidrone and play it daily - it’s clearly the best sim for racing and multiplayer. I enjoy Uncrashed too and it’s a solid effort for a one man development team and we can expect exciting things to come in the future.
Same. I just switched to Velocidrone from DRL and while the controls imo are so much better the UI/UX in velocidrone is horrible 🥹nlg after seeing the UI for the first time I was tempted to request a refund lol 😂
Just started and got 5 Sims (Velocidrone, Tryp, Liftoff, UnCrashed, DRL) - Velocidrone is the one that I have to force myself to play to because the UI/UX is so all over the place. Got to be in flight to change rates, but got to leave to change graphics. Reset often doesn't work for me at all and even things like setting up the controller was much less intuitive than in others. Also the track selection doesn't really give any kind of preview so it's a hit and miss. It was also the last i bought because it wasn't available on Steam so the others were much more an instant purchase. Physics are nice in it, but i think in other areas they've so much room to improve.
1:14:40 "[...] convinced me that the physics are doing a good job [...]" as the car flew straight up :D perfect timing. I know you meant drone physics, but wow..timing.
Uncrashed is quickly becoming my favorite flight SIM. Lots of new map updates the graphics are amazing. And if you spend some time experimenting with the settings you can make the throne drone fly just as your real one.
They really need to add Actual freestyle mode, unlimited lap and time attack mode to Uncrashed like you said, also 100% agree with the motor sound its so distracting! Actually giving people a couple options on motor sound would be great
There are some definite benefits to Uncrashed. It has the best graphics by far, it also has some huge levels and I think the levels are more detailed and realistic than the other games. It also has moving cars for you to chase which some of the other games don’t have. The main disadvantage is that it doesn’t have multiplayer, otherwise it would easily be my most played sim.
I enjoy these streams. I would also enjoy a stream with one of the games Devs. Don't you recommend people build their quad vs buying a prebuilt? I feel like the same goes for a PC. Building a PC is far easier than a miniquad.
Hello, there's been a bunch of friends in playstation and xbox interested in flying in simulation. So, will you ever suggest to a company to make a drone simulation for gamers? Derfla
You can't use RC transmitters on console, and using a xbox/playstation controller for sims is absolutely horrible. So unless someone made custom console controllers that are like RC transmitters, it would be a bad idea to put a drone sim on console. If someone picked it up and could only use a console controller, it would put a bad taste in their mouth because flying is horrendous on consome controllers
I think the default settings for a 5" racer like the Switchback Pro are very good. Back in the day, there were big tutorials about how to make the sim feel realistic, but today I think a lot of people fly the default. For example, if you get into a Velocidrone competition, everybody will be flying the same physics.
I know that's true in the sense that Gamers Nexus would tear them apart, but I have bought one and I know another person who bought one and obht of them are still happily using them 2+ years later. If you want to just spend a basic amount of money to buy a pre built off Amazon, there is a value proposition there.
@@JoshuaBardwell for me I feel he's way over the top when it comes to breaking them down like he does. He makes valid points but they are built for consumers that have zero knowledge of computers and are looking for a quick turn around for a computer. Companies like doghouse systems and other smaller sellers tend to put actual off the self parts I to their rigs where cyberpower etc have "special" built parts that work but provide almost zero ability to upgrade in the future. I have built my own PC's for roughly 15years and never have considered a pre built....well in these times I suppose I can see the appeal

Love uncrashed. Put countless hours on liftoff and Velocidrone. Prefer uncrashed. I do love bando city and Bardwells house on Liftoff though

Given that I have liftoff, velocidrone, and DRL simulator, what is the specific value that Uncrashws has that would cause me to get it?
I'm not really here to sell you on any particular sim. In the short time that I played, I was impressed by Uncrashed's levels.

i dont know if most people know this but there is a gas station to fly around in the office park map its actually pretty fun to fly around
I didnt like it at first but I changed some things in the settings and it's the closet I've felt to real but it could still use some work.

Acer Nitro 5 with i5-11300h, 1650 4gb gpu and 8gb ram runs Uncrashed and Lift Off on high settings at 1080p no problem at all.
Joshua, can you share recommended settings for velocidrone so you can have the most close to a real quad

I returned my VD license ... to complex (and not what I was looking for) .... maybe in the future ... I prefer DRL's big maps for free flying! ¶ ;-)

I prefer to deflect the yaw stick less so I feel like I have better throttle control.
