I used to collect Janoskis. Wound up skating in all of them except my 420 ones from 2012. I still have those but have been wanting some new ones but haven't liked the colorways so far. Definitely wanna go skate now😂

I like the Janoski's, the aesthetic continues to stand the test of time. When the Shane O'Neill's came out I ended up liking those a bit more, since they also have a clean and classic look, feel pretty similar to me, and have ghillie lacing which helped protect shoe laces.

It'll stand the test of time because it resembles a boat shoe, like a Sperry, without the moccasin stitching. Classics exist because they can stand the test of time.

I hope they also return the Shane's. Couldn't buy a Janoski or Shane for a year now, so I bought 2 pairs of the OG+ when it came out 😅

My favourite shoes are the decon gorge green dunk. Love those going for the city of style janowski. My first.

Janoskis are the bombbbbb. I'm a big fan of the emerica wino slip cups, actually... been skating a lot of those lately. Didn't think I would be into slip ons, but they are decent and been holding up well! Managed to find both the Janoskis and the Wino slip cups (2 pairs of the slip ons, 1 pair of Nikes) for $20 each, so thar definitely helps 👌 Awesome review, my man!

I would like to see a skated review of these. I want to know if the new release of the Janoskis are worth the money and how long the last being skated.

lol the only thing I can think of is that they made them like how the originals were intended to be from the get go? Like the first couple years of OG janoskis were kinda hard to get your hands on through a skateshop I remember begging our Nike 6.0 rep for a pair of the Black/White/Mint janoskis and those were my favourite ones.
Over the years- as they grew in popularity and Nike ditched the SB/6.0 separate lines so they could basically sell all there shoes in mass quantities to sports stores and corporate footwear stores. Suddenly skate shops if they wanted to carry a Nike SB shoe they would need to order $50K in preorders to solidify carrying the brand and being considered a legitimate account by Nike.
All that being said- they made it more difficult for skate shops to carry their shoes, but then also made the shoe extremely worse and worse quality as the years went on. They went from premium materials, leather laces, herringbone tread that would take forever to rub away, to shitty cotton laces, cheap weak suede and soles that would wear through in less then a month.
Really, fuck Nike. But these shoes are definitely nostalgic. I’m curious to see if they’re anything like the originals when it comes to quality, or if they’re just another mass produced money grab-
I must add- as weird as it is the leather insides of these shoes make them some of the comfiest shoes ever to wear barefoot. I never really understood why I’d see Janoski skating in them without socks (risky business) but holy hell is it ever comfortable

Have you tried them yet? I’m over Nike’s bullshit quality control and human rights violations, but I am considering getting the green suede ones on sale at my local shop. I figure it would be a nice final Nike SB product to buy.

@@ianturnbow7011 I did actually get the pink ones and man… thanks for commenting so I can follow up here.. THEY FUCKING SUCK NOW???
The sole is not neaaarly as grippy as they used to be!!! The toe they have made a little bit longer so instead of feeling like they hug my feet it feels like I’m more squeezing my feet into a narrow hallway. I have a pair of OG janoskis from 2013 that I only wear occasionally and compared to the new ones they almost look like completely different shoes. The toe is shorter and more round on the original, where these knew ones have more of a dress shoe toe.
The rubber or material they use on the bottom sole isn’t grippy at all… like that was the thing with janoskis wasn’t it? I remember being barely able to do flip tricks on day one with the originals because the grip was so intense but then it would take months before I would actually start to see wear… the new sole that they’re doing is good to go right out the box, sounds nice and all, but for a shoe that’s over a hundred dollars I want it to last a bit… these new ones I had rubbed down on day one… I learned a new trick on a ledge and when I finally landed it my shoes looked like I had been skating them for a week… and I don’t skate nearly as hard as I used to. WILD
Like you, I pretty much just bought them out of nostalgia as when I was a teenager I really loved skating them. Kinda sad they couldn’t just make the same damn shoe again

@@producedproductions Nike will continue to cut corners. Newer fans of the brand don’t realize how much better the old shoes were. Hell, companies like Nike and Adidas practically forced core skate brands to step up quality. Lakai was one of them.
Still, I had the first re-stock of the black/white/gum suede Janoski around January/February 2010. The soles lasted forever. Never blew them out.

@@NamasteBean I'm not sure. It seems like they stop making a lot of shoes to come out with new ones. So either Nike didn't think they were making enough money on the Shane and switched back to the Janoski or they're planning on a Shane 2. I guess we'll see.

@@NamasteBean Some say that the Shane should replace the Janoski but didn't even get close to the sales of Janoski's so they get back to made Janoski's instead of Shanes. Its no secret Nike did a bad Deal with Janoski (but of course a very good one gor himself)most people don't even know he was a Pro or even who he is. The Shoe has more fame then the Person.

this is why i hate resellers, WTF do you guys not leave anything alone, like skaters arent always sneakerheads, why the hell did a shoe that most of us skaters have been been wearing for decades now first sell out as soon as a shoe seller has them in stock and then you see them on stockX for £155, a £35-£60 shoe, legit you guys need to stop inflating shoe prices, I'm no pissed as this is that one shoe that rain or shine is in my closet I've had a pair of these for every moment in my life can you resellers stop making shoes unacesible for us skaters like common don't you guys have some jordan 1s to buy and store away.
