  • I’ve been teaching in Korea for nearly 7 years (do i look a bit tired in the thumbnail? 😅) Teaching abroad can be a valuable experience, but PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
To my fellow teachers already in Korea, or those looking for their first job: Here are my dos and don’ts when applying to schools.
Did I miss anything or is there something you disagree with? Comment your thoughts and experiences!
Do you think it's even worth teaching in Korea in 2024? 🤔

    |˶˙ᵕ˙ )ノ゙Hey!
I'm Shannon. I'm a twenty-something-year-old who has spent the last seven-something years in Korea. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and put myself in front of a camera to document my last year here before I make the jump back to the States, as well as my travels.

Back in the day when I worked in Korea if you had a masters or higher in any subject you could work at a university. Full time was 16 hours a week plus 4 office hours you had to keep.
    Best job ever!
They provided housing and two months paid vacation.
    I stayed five years!
I’m sure times have changed but that was my experience.
Thank you for the video and cooking lesson.. 👍🏼

That's unheard of 😭 Staying in the same job for 5 years says a lot. Thank you for sharing! Did you live in Seoul?
University jobs seem to be losing popularity, I know some teachers who are working towards getting their masters so they can apply to international schools. Seems to be the best place to be if you are going to work in Korea nowadays.
