You’re 100% right on needing an Angie’s list for customers we’ve got a guy right now that messed up building himself a race car and brought it in at 5 o’clock on a Friday for an alignment and now it’s taking us to small claims court because we couldn’t put it to factory specifications yeah go figure that one! I work for an employee owned company. We bent over backwards last Summer to help a young man get HVAC equipment for "side jobs" giving him pretty deep discounts along the way. All of a sudden he stops coming in. Then we find out his last check bounced! It wasn't a small amount, either. After multiple phone calls and empty promises, he ghosts us. Hey Eric, thought of doing some type of paid subscription for the dyno mule testing etc. You have got $10 on your book over costs and I'm not telling you what to charge but if you had 500 at $10 for the content that's $5k might improve the revenue and you get paid for the ideas and the testing👍 Donations only no charge backs👌 Thanks for the great content🙂
I do repairs on vintage pinball and arcade games. There are very few people in my area that do this kind of work, and we all know each other. The minute someone screws any of us we put out an apb on the customer. And nobody ever works on their stuff ever again.
There should be a ups rep for your area. You should call him or her and talk to them about pricing. Ups will always beat fed ex pricing. I ship multiple products a day. I could ship a product that cost that much and goes in that size box thru ups, and insure it for half that shipping cost. Ups is usually really good about working with you on price if you ship regularly.
I wish I knew the reps number so I can get lower rates but I have called customer service three times and nobody calls back. They are missing out on thousands.
When the heads get milled down to 54cc the cutter goes across the aluminum and the steel in the seat insert causing it to scuff. It doesn’t affect sealing. Afr has a lifetime warranty.
In my 12 years of business i have never had so many chargebacks as i have this year. I had a woman do a chargeback when the delivery did not arrive because SHE entered her shipping address wrong. I got the package back from usps automatically as shown in the tracking. she know what was going on the whole time but refused to take responsibility for her mistake,. I see this particular situation alot. The problem is; the more chargebacks i get in the trailing 12 months the more the fee's are on each chargeback,. They need to start charging these cusotmers when they file these neglegent and ignorant chargebacks when the vendor wins or proves fault . IM SICK OF THIS!
I feel the pain myself. Had a terrible week but a fellers looking forward to a cold beer 🍺, ☀️ ⛅️ and a bbq steak. Yum, although my heads a little injured and hurts that still sounds good.
Welcome to the performance business.... I've had shops as well as individuals do this to us. You're very lucky on this one but it usually doesn't work out in favor of the business most times.

Hey !!! Things can get worse ! Your water heater can fail overnight like mine did last week ! Go right now and inspect your water heater. Even if it looks fine if it’s 5+ years old think about preemptively replacing it soon. Splashing around in you living room is not cool :(
Have Customers sign a credit card authorization form. They can email or fax back. I have experienced the same thing multiple times. We were scammed for 5K once because we didn't have a signature.
We had an ECU stolen that way when I worked at a dealership. Charge back from a stolen credit card actually. Guy is a scamming thief. Glad you were able to get your hands back on those heads. I wish I knew a way to prevent that myself. Could always find out if Karl Ellwein wants those heads. LT1s are his bread and butter.
Well hopefully next week will be better. If you deal with the public long enough you will get caught up in something like that. Glad you got the heads back.
Why not require a monetary deposit for anything out of the ordinary? The customer has to ultimately pay for everything and if they want your product, get some up front money. I doubt it will affect the profits and it will give you a little more room to breathe. I have been in business a couple times and dealing with the public can be a nightmare and it only takes one person to give you a permanent attitude. This customer you described is nothing but a fraud. He probably changed his mind due to money and new fickle desires. Another way out is to require the customer to get the castings and then he can ship them to you for work. I don't know if AFR would sell them to joe blow but I would imagine they would. Money talks.
Charge Backs Uggggg... one of our biggest customers ( with multiple locations across the country ) had sent a Debit Memo to our company but they were suppossed to send back the product to us for a credit and it wasnt recieved. We ended up putting the entire company on Credit Hold so nothing shipped to any of their locations until it got resolved. Surprisingly, it still took 3-4 days. Being that your a one man show, this has to be incredibly stressfull. thank God you were atleast able to get those heads turned around. You really got lucky. People suck simetimes
He should be happy to have gotten them that quick , I purchased Brodix dragon slayer 320 bare took 18 weeks but never once called to see where they were , I’m in customer service as a service manager in a auto dealership, people have no idea how annoying it is to be called over and over when your trying to do the job correctly and this impatient ass is trying to rush you
Mr. W..... So sorry to hear that you have to deal with idiots like this I can tell you from the few emails i had with you, despite having a pontiac, you took time to respond to me a few times My wife and i watched this video and she was like can you use those parts, i sad sadly... no talk about a great deal, i hope someone helps you out with this but i can say if i decide to convert to a SBC/BBC i would be going through you someone like, and many others, deserve our support, because.... well... you support/educate us i am grateful to be able to gain some general knowledge, even at my age, from watching your videos they are very interesting i've used the CC dispute maybe 3 times in my life, and EXACTLY as you said 1- work with vendor 2- try to resolved, and communicate, and try as much as you can, as you never know what might be going on in someones life, put the shoe on the other foot 3- if no other alternative, then dispute I would have thought something like this, would fall under non-refundable custom products???????????? Isn't that in your original ordered paperwork? i know we are all facing extremely tough economic times, but man..... when one man agrees to something with another man, man-to-man.... honor the deal, put yourself in their shoes... i just don't get society anymore..... and thankfully at my age, not much longer for me to go to understand i grew up in GREAT times.... Honor, integrity, and word had/have REAL value.... I can see why some businesses i have dealt with lately only take US postal checks, or cash....... Try buying a car on CC.... i tried and i got a total run-around.... now i see why as it open headaches for vendors All the best, and please keep posting and inspiring us, folks like you, Vizzard, etc... are so greatly appreciated
Hi Eric, big fan of your channel. What a mess on these heads. Question, what are the "bands" on the head surface. I can see 3 going across the the Intake valve locations. Is that a surface grinding situation? I'm probably adding salt to the wound on this thing.
That is where the mill cuts across the seat. It leaves a scuff. This only happens when heads are milled and hit the seat. To this day I have yet to have them not seal. However AFR has a lifetime warranty on the heads so if it ever was a problem they would take care of it.
@@WeingartnerRacing Thanks for the comeback Eric. I did assume there probably wasn't an issue otherwise you would have pointed it out and done something about it. Just hate to see something like that given the fine work you do on the rest of the headwork. Thanks again bring forward your work, experience and knowledge.
Just so everyone else is aware, even if you accept a check for a product or service you can still get screwed. The guy that writes the check can call his bank and cancel the check during the next 10 banking days. Even if the check was deposited, they can claw back the money out of your account and give it back to the scammer.
It took me damn near 2 months for my LT4 AFR heads. Everyone knew the wait time back then especially in the LT1 Facebook groups. That customer was a prick!
Hey Eric on those afr 265 heads you ported what intake gasket did you open it up to I have mine on my 439 and I have a Victor Jr intake if I build a 496 I might have you port them and see what you can do with them I talked to a guy online and he had someone port his and he said they made them rectangular port I don't know how true this is I told him that his motor would make alot more power with bigger heads or if his were ported because he was making 40 less horse power then my motor with a much bigger cam . Have you ever done anything like that before ? or is this guy blowing smoke up my ass.?v
the Wife is an EBay seller , we can attest to the increasing number of people who steal from you by charge backs, disputes and any other way they can dream up to get the product for free, the seller has no recorse except to demand the "broken or damaged merchandise" be returned , which shipping costs are often more than the items value.... what i'm trying to say is we feel your pain !
On more than one occasion I've had to go and Sawzall equipment off of "customers" houses. Absolutely hated doing that and luckily it was only a handful of times but sometimes it just has to happen. You try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I'm not letting someone take me for a 20k+ ride. And just to add, I willingly am waiting 6+ months for a step nose custom grind SBC step nose cam because those are on backorder apparently too.

I have been told more than once about people doing charge offs saying they never received product lieing about then getting them to ship replacement to make them happy they sell the stolen product
Brother, I don't know who started the if their a customer you have to be polite no matter what. That's BS!!!! If someone screws you over or tries to lay on them. The ones that day that have never had a business of their own. That's for sure. They don't know what it takes. I don't have my business anymore. I closed it for personal reasons. But I remember people tryin to screw me over when ever they got the chance. You did right. I'm sorry that happened to you. It's not like it was a bigmac. There's alot of money sitting there. Someone will buy them. It's just when that is scary. Have a good one brother.
What are the huge marks on the head? Would that effect the sealing surface?
Fiscal sense in business and personal life is always a smart move.
Hey Eric, thought of doing some type of paid subscription for the dyno mule testing etc.
You have got $10 on your book over costs and I'm not telling you what to charge but if you had 500 at $10 for the content that's $5k might improve the revenue and you get paid for the ideas and the testing👍
Donations only no charge backs👌
Thanks for the great content🙂
Love the Angies list for customers idea. Brilliant lol. People seem to be de-evolving these days
I wish someone would do it. Maybe I can go on shark tank.
What are those odd machine marks over the intake valves for? Genuinely curious.
Could you tell me what and where did you get the alternator setup on the big block engine?
I can’t remember but I had to alter it to fit.
Unfortunately customers today are becoming more and more like that. Glad you got the heads back.
Welcome to the performance business.... I've had shops as well as individuals do this to us. You're very lucky on this one but it usually doesn't work out in favor of the business most times.
Man that Sucks that just makes it harder for the real people wanting to do business with u and be Real with u I would love to have you port some sbc alum heads just they r pretty old so not sure if that would be something u would really want to do or not lol but love the content u share with u Thanks for that
Dealing with real people is really hard business by itself let along shipping. You have to be ready for everything all the time...
To hell with that thief. Take care of your family and much appreciate everything you do
stupid question but would this head work on to a Vortec 350?
(the one with the plastic intake & the spider injection)
Who does your carb work? I only ask because I've got a new 1250cfm Dominator I want to get done before this summer. Thank you in advance.
Hey !!! Things can get worse ! Your water heater can fail overnight like mine did last week ! Go right now and inspect your water heater. Even if it looks fine if it’s 5+ years old think about preemptively replacing it soon. Splashing around in you living room is not cool :(
Thanks Eric, great job !!
Have Customers sign a credit card authorization form. They can email or fax back.
I have experienced the same thing multiple times. We were scammed for 5K once because we didn't have a signature.
How much for an electronic copy of the Dyno mule stuff?
$15 assuming I can figure out how to send it.
Where can i find info on what services you offer.
Looking for a valve job and porting on some ls3
Off shore heads. Thanks
My website is www.wengines.com but I haven’t updated it in two years.
@@chrisreynolds6520 Good grief I did not mean that response for you. I am sorry and will delete the comment.
Love the videos keep them coming.
Great info for only 38.00, thank you.
He should be happy to have gotten them that quick , I purchased Brodix dragon slayer 320 bare took 18 weeks but never once called to see where they were , I’m in customer service as a service manager in a auto dealership, people have no idea how annoying it is to be called over and over when your trying to do the job correctly and this impatient ass is trying to rush you
Mr. W.....
So sorry to hear that you have to deal with idiots like this
I can tell you from the few emails i had with you, despite having a pontiac, you took time to respond to me a few times
My wife and i watched this video and she was like can you use those parts, i sad sadly... no
talk about a great deal, i hope someone helps you out with this
but i can say if i decide to convert to a SBC/BBC i would be going through you
someone like, and many others, deserve our support, because.... well... you support/educate us
i am grateful to be able to gain some general knowledge, even at my age, from watching your videos
they are very interesting
i've used the CC dispute maybe 3 times in my life, and EXACTLY as you said
1- work with vendor
2- try to resolved, and communicate, and try as much as you can, as you never know what might be going on in someones life, put the shoe on the other foot
3- if no other alternative, then dispute
I would have thought something like this, would fall under non-refundable custom products????????????
Isn't that in your original ordered paperwork?
i know we are all facing extremely tough economic times, but man..... when one man agrees to something with another man, man-to-man.... honor the deal, put yourself in their shoes...
i just don't get society anymore..... and thankfully at my age, not much longer for me to go to understand
i grew up in GREAT times.... Honor, integrity, and word had/have REAL value....
I can see why some businesses i have dealt with lately only take US postal checks, or cash.......
Try buying a car on CC.... i tried and i got a total run-around.... now i see why as it open headaches for vendors
All the best, and please keep posting and inspiring us, folks like you, Vizzard, etc... are so greatly appreciated
hey curious what that wilson profiler sbc manifold flowed after you ported it? thanks yo!
Wow. Im in the logistics business and thats a scam all day. Pay first then deliver. Its tough i have shiped heavy eauipment and hope the pay the bill.
I hate thief and scammers. And it's happening more and more. Sucks to deal with this CRAP. GODSPEED
I am sorry that happened to you. Wish I was in the position to take it off your hands. Does that LT head fit on the 6.2 C8?
They were sold.
When you get the brodix BR3 heads, will you be porting them?
Yes
@@WeingartnerRacing Badass! What bore size will they be going on?
Is that a cadillac head to the right of the tool cart?
Yes
Can you do a flow test on the AFR LT1 heads?
Yes
And your rite about the customer should be put on a list and held responsible for froud, all the best to you
Thank you for your knowledge 💪🏽 USA 🇺🇸 USA 🇺🇸
Bob is on the phone with his buddy tryn to get his buddy to order them for him at cost.
Only if they were a set of 210 LT heads.. they’d have been sold.
That version requires an LT1 intake and I prefer dabbling in the LT4 goodies.
Been there prospect is what you call a window shopper and a thief takes possession without paying
What a great idea for Angie's list for customers
Post those heads over on the Corvette Forum or Third Gen. Somebody will snap them up. I waited over four months for 195s direct from AFR last year.
Luckily they were sold.
Dang dude sorry to what happened to you all week hopefully everything works out for you.
I’m with ya on the Angie’s list for customers
Hey Eric on those afr 265 heads you ported what intake gasket did you open it up to I have mine on my 439 and I have a Victor Jr intake if I build a 496 I might have you port them and see what you can do with them I talked to a guy online and he had someone port his and he said they made them rectangular port I don't know how true this is I told him that his motor would make alot more power with bigger heads or if his were ported because he was making 40 less horse power then my motor with a much bigger cam . Have you ever done anything like that before ? or is this guy blowing smoke up my ass.?v
try shipping with the post office using media mail, should be a lot cheaper to send printed or digital media than FedEx or UPS
the Wife is an EBay seller , we can attest to the increasing number of people who steal from you by charge backs, disputes and any other way they can dream up to get the product for free, the seller has no recorse except to demand the "broken or damaged merchandise" be returned , which shipping costs are often more than the items value.... what i'm trying to say is we feel your pain !
