Theres so much thats goes into being accepted into a school like ur gpa, test scores, classes that u took, extracurriculars, community service, its a lot so if anyone is doubtful about anything they didnt do well in just apply u never know a school could want you because you excelled at something they were looking for
this made me feel a lot better watching someone get into nyu without outrageous stats (without making their own nonprofit, clubs, flying to rural mongolia to teach english to little kids, interning at nasa)
Omg Precious, I’m so proud of u! I totally relate to the first essay u talked about where you felt too black for the white kids, but too white for the black kids! Wish you the best 🩷
omg this video is so precious for me since i'm considering applying for nyu but feeling so struggled thank you so much for sharing with me your great experience
Omg this is a perfect video. i'm currently a freshman (ik it's a little too early) and it's my biggest dream to go to NYU. this video rlly helped me with what I should be aiming for. thank u so soo much for the tips
This video is actually so helpful! I'm a rising senior planning to apply ed to NYU Tisch and you've helped me ease off some nerves I had lol! Also it depends on which major in Tisch you need to have actual "talent" for, such as dancing or singing (also acting but im not sure about that one)! Once again, thank you so much and good luck!❤🙏
I am actually so stressed, im gonna be in uni in abt 2 yrs and I'm nervous. My dream school is NYU but I don't feel confident really and especially since I want to get into business major I'm afraid its gonna be hard generally to get a high GPA but also study that major, this video was really helpful thank you
Congratulations on your academics and your experiences from high school. You did a great job with your studies. That is very impressive. I really enjoyed your video. You have great content to the video. My name is Andres by the way. It is pleasure to meet you. Good luck with NYU. God bless you and your family. 🙏❤️
you should write abt whatever you feel you can get the most out of. so just pick whichever you feel like you can write a lot abt, but also something that reflects who you are. it’s not abt what you write, but how you write it!
Hi Precious, this video was very helpful for someone like me appling to NYU ED I. Just wanted to know that should i submit my SAT score?( I got SAT: 1450; R&W: 670; Math Section: 780) because i know its test optional. And i dont need to give eng prof test as i studied in English medium as an international student but do you think a good eng prof test score will compensate for my low R&W SAT score? Your answer would be very appreciated.
Hi! First thank you for all information! I have questions if that’s okay with you(since I am applying for NYU main campus in ED1, I need guidance from you); did you write an optional NYU essay (What personal experiences or challenges have shaped you as a bridge builder and 2 more questions) ? What about financial aid? Did you apply for need-based for financial aid? I am an international student(applying in test-optional), and can you give advice that you want me to consider in my application till 1st november (2024)? Thank you!
hiii! so yes i did write the optional essay but the essay prompt changes year to year, so i wrote mine about the quote that i mentioned in the video. and yes i did apply for need based financial aid! i honestly feel like i’m not qualified to give advice, but all i can say is just be honest within your application and try not to stress too much because everything works out the way it should :)
Thank u for this video cuz it’s prolly the most transparent version of these videos I’ve seen. I have one question tho. For the bathroom stall quote essay did you mention the story of how you discovered that quote (with the stall and everything) or did you just talk about the quote itself?
Hey im a freshmen and i always dreamed of getting into nyu but i just realized i didnt take any honors this year or even joined clubs or sports. I wanted to ask if thats a disadvantage. Im thinking of joining cheer next year and taking more ap classes will that help me more?
if you’re a freshman then that’s definitely not a disadvantage! i wasn’t even in any clubs during my freshman year! as long as you find something to do during the rest of high school then you’ll be fine!
congratss!! do you have any idea about how they evaluate a levels? we dont have gpa and ppl say its coursework is evaluated differently but I have no idea how. i want to know if i even stand a chance:( I applied last year in ed1 and didnt get in. i think one major reason was i was an international student completely new to everything and i didnt know what i was doing so my application wasnt as good as it could have been. i want to apply again this year at ed1 once again bc nyu is literally my dream. so i am trying to get any help i can. ur vdeo was helpful too thankyou
thank youuu! i’m not gonna lie, i don’t really know anything abt a levels or international tests, so i can’t really help with that. i suggest u watch more videos like this but from international students and maybe look for answers on reddit! all i can say is to trust your gut and everything will work out how it’s supposed to! good luck!! :)
I'm an international student. Can I apply to NYU before finishing high school by taking GED test? Even that'll be hard cuz we don't have a test center. Now what do I do? 😭
i wish i could answer that, but honestly i'm not too sure. all i know is that you have to have proof that you've finished high school/secondary school or are on track to finish before the semester you plan on enrolling for. i'm sure if you look on the nyu website you could find a more helpful answer 😭
@@preciousdennisdan Dw I looked it up and it says you can apply. Like GED is an option if you didn't finish high school. And as you said I don't have to show too many test scores so there's that. Alright then I'll see you at NYU in 2026 then! 💕
Hi, first congratulations and I hope you have fun in the fall!!! I was just wondering if you had a teacher write a letter of recommendation for you, thank you!
@@preciousdennisdan Thank you!! Also, did you have to write follow-up emails to the teacher who wrote the letter of recommendation? Sorry, I’m a rising senior and lowkey stressed about this process. :’)

I got a B during my sophomore year in ap gov for a whole semester and then a B in H chemistry for the first quarter (I was struggling through shit I swear I’m not making this up LMAO) and I’m scared they’re gonna reject me for that LOL 😂 (that’s the only B’s I’ve gotten in high school rn) 💀
well u need to remember that they don’t just judge based on grades! and as long as your gpa is still high then you shouldn’t stress! plus i personally think your junior and senior year grades matter the most bc it’s a reflection of your most recent self! :)

International Asian students are annoying asf trying to guilt trip accepted citizens and make them feel bad.
