I’m at a 3.5/4.0 GPA with but I’ve taken 6 college courses so far in H.S. and I’m taking 4 this semester over at my local community college. I’m also involved with a lot in the community. I’m ambassador for a fund in my town and I work alongside the mayor in helping pan handlers find the right help. I work as a cashier, I sing in a choir, I’m the captain of my Varsity Basketball team, I play the drums, etc. I didn’t provide any test scores, but I applied EOP for Early Decision which was binding. I also have and had family members attend NYU and I live in state.

So my current unweighted gpa is a 3.8, however my SAT Score is very bad and I want to apply to NYU and Berekly as well as cornell but I just have a really bad overall weighted gpa, it's only a 4.14, honors classes and dual enrollment classes aren't weighted, I've taken all honors and dual enrollment and have never taken a single off period ever, even though it cna increase your gpa, I still never took one. I've also written five books, launched my own campagin, changed legislation, and also repersent a thousand students as a TSA State Committee Head while also making fairy tales that I've been making money from. Should I still apply to school such as Stanford, Berekly, Cornell, and NYU or am I too dumb to apply? I plan to go test-optional but still feel I'm dumb and stupid.
congrats on your acceptance to nyu and other colleges! i’m currently an ib student from florida too, i was wondering if being an ib student for out of state colleges has any benefits? or does the florida’s bright futures scholarships helps you at nyu?
Thank you!!! I will say that being an IB student will give you an advantage in its own when it comes to college applications. You can possibly receive some credits if you score high on IB exams just like on AP exams (depending on the institution; some schools like NYU want you get to have a 6-7 HL score and will not accept SL), but being an IB diploma candidate (with good grades lol) will check off the “rigor” box and demonstrate to colleges that you can handle the college workload. Some schools do offer an IB specific scholarship, but i do not think the school’s I applied to did. Ultimately, the bright futures scholarship did not help me because it is only applied to students attending Florida colleges/universities, rather than out of state schools. I hope I was helpful!
