Just love the new boat designs! Can you do a video showing certain typical maintenance access points on the new boats? Specifically access to the stuffing box!
Nice walkaround, and some ideas for me to remember tbh, though I won't be going with a generator, so full electric Galley is out, as are leecloth side berths instead of the Captain's chairs.Forward full size head and shower I like too, plus the hard dodger and Rear Arch for Solar and Davits. Losing Drinks and Tumbler storage for a TV, good idea for some, but for me, Pass. 😅 Loving your vodeos. One thing I've not yet seen, is how large is the Cockpit Table, as that'll be the most used room on the boat, at full size, can you sit three or four each side of it for when entertaining ? Best Wishes to All at Island Packet. Bob in Wales. ❤👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️
Dang! I bet you couldn't do that if you were working in Asia! :D Incredible specked boat. Beautiful throughout! Ps: Marketing! Take note of the options the people that have actually buildt the boats, and have observed every option available, have gone for! A bit shocking that it was the first boat without gas! Thats years behind other brands!
Beautiful big yacht, congratulations to IPY for building such stunning model. I like the induction stove option. I’m always scared of gas in my regular old boat. Is the stove gimballed? Obviously the best generator for such demand of electricity. I wonder why not electric furling for the main though…. Question, is this a cutter or solent? I like the idea of solent rig,it is better for downwind, less rolling and less worries with an accidental jibe. Great design!
I will add that to my list for the next video. I know we didn't spend much time on the deck this video, as we are planning to do another video this week that will focus more on that, once it is fully rigged up. Thank you for your comment!
We installed those genuine marine cabin lights on our IP last year and they provide a beautiful diffused light, however the chromed area around the switch deteriorates quickly with finger marks so wipe clean after each use.
I really like Island Packets. I think you guys build a well thought out well built boat. My one complaint would be the damn captains chairs in the salon. I know that's what these guys want but I will never understand it. I feel like if you have another settee you have more seating and more storage (something you never have enough of on any boat)
Nice video. I have a question though. Can all of that equipment in the maintenance locker be removed if it breaks or needs service without taking apart furniture? It just looks like if a belt breaks on the washer/dryer, or a freezer breaks or the genset needs replacement none of it will fit through that doorway or the companion way either.
Great question! Our production and engineering team has worked extra hard to make sure all appliances in the utility room will fit thru the doorway and companionway in the event they ever have to be removed from the boat for repair or replacement. The utility room doorway is 2" wider than the rest of the doorways on the boat in order to accomplish this. The door itself will need to be removed, but it is designed to fit thru without needing to do any major work removing furniture, trim, or bulkheads.
They do have the 2 solar panels option on the arch, but they are using the AGM house batteries. As with anything in life, choices are compromises. It can get a little stuffy in the galley/salon if you aren't running the A/C.
After looking at sailing yachts on TH-cam for 18 months, I finally get the appeal of these Island Packets. The only think I don’t like is you have to be outside in the elements while making passage and on watch. It’s design in that sense is not lot an Amel or Deck Saloon yacht where you’re practically inside steering boat.
Thanks for watching and commenting Andre! We definitely understand your concerns, and we have some options for you! We don't really ever show it on our videos as they are always shot in beautiful sunny Florida in blue sky conditions, but we do have enclosure options for our cockpit. Depending on how much of an enclosure you want, you can go from fully open cockpit, a canvas dodger/bimini/ss arch, and a frp dodger/arch with canvas bimini. We have connector panels that can fully close the roof from dodger to Bimini to arch, and we sell a custom made Iverson Designs Strataglass Enclosure to completely encapsulate the cockpit, keeping you out of the weather. We also have 2 more models that will be coming out in the next 2 years, one of which will actually feature a pilot house(the 42 MS), and the other will be a center cockpit/helm with enclosure options(the 525).
I love the light maple color/style but sadly I think it will be a trend where all boats have the "same" color scheme. Kinda like homes with taupe/light beige evereything
We are giving our owners their gelcoat colors of choice in off-white, Graystone, ivory, and camel tan for all parts of the boat. We have one coming out soon that is graystone/Off-White exterior, ivory/camel tan interior. I doubt you will find 2 Next Generation Island Packets that will look exactly the same. Between your gelcoat colors, boot stripe and bottom paint colors, interior wood choices, counter tops, ultraleather, cockpit cushions, salon configurations, arches, dodgers, there are a lot of choices to make it YOUR Island Packet. There is no such thing as the "same" scheme anymore when it comes to the Next Generation of Island Packet!
What an awesome thing! Long time employee gets their boat ready for a new chapter in life. Super cool and super special! Congrats to all.
It truly is incredible!!!
Gorgeous! I’m sold. It’s my 5 year plan to get about this size IP yacht.

Absolutely! I will get it on the list of things to shoot next time I see the boat. Thank you for the comment!
Maintenance access is a great idea for a video! The good the bad and the ugly… whatcha gotta do to keep it all running well and happy.

I would like to see more of the exterior/ deck in these presentations…

Thanks for the info! I will make sure to spread the word and make sure our design team is aware of this issue!

@@IslandPacketYachts Very Nice!
Beautiful color scheme. Are they planning solar/lithium? Also, any concerns with ventilation with the window decision? Looks great!

PIZZA!!!!!
Time for a pizza party on board 439-08!
