Honestly... putting Dream in that prison was the worst thing they could've done. Because they gave him the one thing that he needed at that moment: Time. Time to recooup and plan. Time to come up with a whole new scheme. Time to figure out exactly how he'll come back. And that time, is gonna lead to a hell of a storm.
It also sort of made him more powerful, if you think about it. He escaped the inescapable prison, and as he told Sam in his recent stream, “you’ll be a living example of not to fuck with me”, it may scare people even more.

Honestly though, the lyrics: "I hold the power to decide, who lives, Who Suffers, and who dies" is amazing, because it acknowledges that he can and will absolutely (already having threatened a child with it -_-) use that power to make a person suffer by reviving and killing them in an endless cycle, or/and perhaps make them helpless as everyone they love is stripped away, leaving only them alive no matter what they try to do to escape said reality. Now that's a fate worse than death to me right there. This is a great song and I love that as soon as Dream went into prison you started writing going "nope, the green blobs definitely just getting out and I'm already writing a song about it." I guess we all knew he eventually had to, but still XD.
Oh my god, this song's got the same ticking beat as Puppet on a String and Friend I Used To Know- I absolutely love the usage of the castanets to enhance the feeling of dread and goosebumps, considering I used to do flamenco dancing and haven't heard a Dream SMP use castanets in their music before. The unique instruments and applying of actual memories from the event itself helps to carry the piece and give the listener a sense of worry and fear, even without understanding the context. The moment that alarm goes off... any person knows that this song has a dark persona behind the vocals (c!Dream, in this case). Oh god, the prison alarm. That was absolutely terrifying. As soon as I saw the flashing light in the animated portion and heard that beeping, I felt this pit settle in my stomach: he's out. He's really out. And that alarm was never stopped with a feeling of the problem being solved. They're going to suffer for what they did to him. Wonderful job, PJ! I'm sorry I couldn't make the premiere due to schooling, but live or not, this song is scarily good! Literally, it scared me. Both the meaning behind it and the vocals. You scare me. You're an amazing singer and have this ability to make your voice sound very spooky, such as in Identity, which fits this song so well. Incredible.
The castanet use is actually a callback to Kanaya’s I’ll Let It Burn! I liked how they used it in there so I thought of using it as well huehue and thank you! I really wanted the video to feel as eerie as possible :D

What I love is that with Puppet on a String, Friend I Used to Know and this song, the music is all tied together. The ticking stays through all three, in the first two there is the words “The Eyes of the lord are everywhere” and in Puppet on a String that is translated into Latin I think. And the harmonic(?) voices in the background always stay in the songs, ITS SO COOL

They put Dream in prison, but that’s exactly what he wanted. Because know everyone thinks punz hates Dream when in reality there basically best friends. As they say, Punz is Dreams spy and/or imposter in his enemy’s lines. I also love Dreams character on the one fact that he has a goal to help the server, I won’t tell you what it is but it would be good for the server. But his means of getting the goal are that the ends justify the means, which isn’t necessarily evil. I mean like Wilbur has always wanted freedom from anyone or anything that may hold him down. He created l’manburg to not need to be controlled by the Greater Dream SMP. He made Phil kill him so he’d escape other people’s hatred of him, only to learn limbo was a much more freedom taking place then anywhere else.

This is a masterpiece!! The lyrics are masterfully written, so clearly expressing dreams character and his intentions (as vague as we can see them anyway) And the music!! I absolutely adore the callbacks to Puppet on a string! It’s more audible towards the end but there are moments towards the beginning that are more subtle. OH MY GOSH!!! The fact that it is SO in point even though you wrote it WAY before anything happened is so cool and shows how much effort you put into this! It totally paid off, I really like how it also sounds a bit like "puppet on a string" and connects his character's songs to show that he is really the same, he is just "adapting" to the situations HE plans in the first place

It totally paid off, I really like how it also sounds a bit like "puppet on a string" and connects his character's songs to show that he is really the same, he is just "adapting" to the situations HE plans in the first place

i'm a bit late because i couldn't catch the premiere but may i just say this entire song is just a literal masterpiece? it's really well thought out and i love the layers to the song and how well it's timed to the clock ticking in the background along with the alarm. and the vocals?? chills. literal chills. they fit really well with the music but they also stand out in a way that I really can't describe, not to mention that you're just good at singing in general. deffo one of my favorite songs ever. absolutely banger, well done.
I really love this song, just like all your others, PJA! And yes, I have followed all the rules you mentioned during the Premiere, especially the, “Be spooked,” one- I mean, it's practically impossible to not be spooked by such amazing music, vocals and animation based on a Minecraft roleplay character notorious for making reality look like an illusion, and the universe look like a hologram! Props to Captain Sealant for such brilliant art! Also, the first paragraph of sorts kinda sounded like Melanie Martinez, I don't know why. Okay, Ima go listen it to on loop-
