Nissan GT-R LM20: better with 800hp? | PistonHeads

- Litchfield is known for building R35 Nissan GT-Rs with well over 1,000hp, which is why the 675hp for the original LM20 seemed a bit tame. How does it cope with 800hp? And is this the car the LM20 should have been all along?
A huge thank you to the seller of this LM20 for allowing us to film their car.

So basically its a FBO kit with probably the Nismo Turbos the PureTurbo 850kit would be my selection 🎉🎉🎉 they safe up to 900hp as long as you keep the torque down, after that you need to do gearbox and Rods then you good to push big grunt
Great video, good work on presenting clearly and concisely!
Thanks very much! Wasn’t easy in those conditions 😅
The beauty of the R35 is the fact you can take a 2008 model & the 2024 front will win fit straight on it. Also it’s an utterly amazing car.
So you cant or can to take th 2008 and fit the newver front end?

Great review. Always wanted one of these but like most things missed the boat.
Thanks! And you know, it is up for auction... www.pistonheads.com/buy/auction/16717181
This has been my favorite car since I first laid eyes on it many years ago, it's timeless.
Absolutely 💯 percent agreed one seriously beautiful machine 💪
I wonder what the maximum power upgrade would be with the stock exhaust? I don’t really care for the loud exhaust systems that people typically install on the Nissan GTR’s. That dull trombone/flatulence sound is a bit unremarkable to my ears. Seems like all of the modern Nissan V6 engines sound like this when fitted with a sports exhaust.
Just leave the stock cat back or get a quieter one
He’s not buying one anyway just a comment expert 🤣
The vq35 from the 350z had this original trumpet sound from its exhaust
What you don't hear on videos, is the air getting "pushed" out, it sounds way better irl than on videos.
Litchfield do a triple silenced 102mm system which is pretty quiet in comparison to a lot of aftermarket versions.
Love it. Thanks for the content.
Thanks for watching! 🙌
Nice day for a drive
“Really unlucky with the weather”
First time it’s rained in England???
The best GTR tuner in the UK is JM Imports (Fact) Litchfield still very good though. This car definitely Not worth 80k! But still a good car though.
The price is comparable to the age and mods I'd say. EBAs start around 70k.
Matter of opinion... Many would disagree. Depends on what you want from a modified GTR, a straight-line drag weapon or something to withstand a day on track. Litchfield tend not to bother with huge power straight line drag cars. But they do a huge amount of R&D for track based cars.
The Godzilla😮💨
Great car - but also don't see anything special about this being an "lm20"
Strikes me more as a marketing gimmick than a worthwhile tuning package.
If it ain't 1000+, we don’t care.😅
Wasn’t this car on a giveaway page???
1:56 that ppf installation is horrible
Bro are you out of that hoody youre wearing? I want one, Not on the website.
You can get yours here pistonheads.shop/product/pistonheads-embroidered-logo-hoodie/
Has it got 800 horse power? He didn't mention it
So it wasn't just me then.... :)
Me too. Oh hang on…
Try watching it again.
Could be 750bhp. No real way of knowing.
I thought he mentioned it @ 4:45, 5:13 and @ the end!
They maxxed out the gtr r35 on everything. They should just release the r36
Yeah they should make it a 4cyl hybrid SUV with a cvt
Considering stock blocks are making over 1000hp...I'd say there's still plenty of room for the current platform to grow. Quite honestly, there's really no need to improve it. It's an AMAZING car. Stock boost levels do feel a little slow after a while, but I just turn mine up and fall in love with it all over again. Mine only makes 550whp, and that is PLENTY for the street.
neat
Litchfield do not know what they're doing. They're not proper tuners
You sure about that comment?
Ok man. Wanna elaborate on that?

how old are you? 7?

Don’t see the point of cars like this anymore, an average electric family car would leave it for dead
I have couple of EVs and an R35 GT-R, and it's horses for courses. The Tesla and my Note Nismo are brilliant daily cars, but for fun driving the R35 is definitely superior, it has far more interactivity and feedback and it is much more exciting. The GT-R feels wasted in city driving though, and that's where an EV is by far a better choice.
Are u mental?
This gtr would most likely be low 10s in the quartermile. No way an "average electric family car" would have a chance against it.
Most average evs are around the mid 11s. High performance versions like the Plaid definitely would beat it but that's a top spec performance ev.
Electric cars are like microwave steaks, yes they work but who on earth would want a microwaved steak.

They are like lab grown meat cooked in a microwave 😂
