    Thanks so much! I just bought a used Acadia and freaked out when all the chimes started up with Stabilitrack and traction control. $20 at O'Reillys and about 10 minutes later, no chimes. Most appreciated!

    Had issues with stabilitrack and traction control shutting off randomly. Said service both. Drove like shit when it did that and cruise control stopped workin. Break light would come on when not hitting breaks sometimes too. Saw this and pit one in, 25$ CAD from a dealership (only place I could get it right away). Fixed the problem after 10 minutes. Thanks for the vid! Worked like a charm on my 2016 acadia

    FIXED! My 2014 gmc acadia slt was showing traction control off and service stabilitrak after just a few mins of driving after about 35mph if I accelerated more than 1/3 throttle the truck would cut power in quick intervals making the drivetrain shake hard. So after finding that my brake switch sensor was always triggering the lights to be on and it had to do with the slack that built up over the years in my brake peddle... changing the sensor wouldn't fixed the problem... so I added a small piece of plastic to the sensor to fix the problem. I've been driving it alot over the last few weeks with zero problems! Hope this helps someone.

      You're on the right track, however it is not the switch itself, but a poor mechanical design by GMC of the "throw tolorence" or "actuation tolorence" or "position tolorence" of the switch
      when the pedal is released.
      [my terminology, pick one, all three work]
      The point is, that the switch needs another 1/8+ inch position movement (literally) to signal the brake is now off or now depressed.
      I figured it out when people were telling me I was riding my brakes. I lifted my pedal barely at all with my foot and my brake lights turned off.
      I removed the switch and added layers of tape to the inside of the "tuning fork arm" that now pushed the arm to the off position.
      It's tricky, but it worked.

    • @gapperformance
      @gapperformance  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I also had the brake stalling going on, but for me it was simple sensor swap out. There is a small possibility the replacement sensor could be faulty. I’ve purchased off brand sensors for my focus that “fit” and didn’t work. Once I obtained another sensor all my problems went away. I’d try one more. I never had to reset the battery I just erased the code off after swapping the sensor and it never came back.

      You can always try an Oem sensor from GM to see if maybe you got a dud. Other than that I don’t know a best option. It could be the wiring to the plug has a frayed wire or something as well. Or the plug is dirty and isn’t making a good connection.

    • @JPOwantstoknow65
      @JPOwantstoknow65 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's why...

      I’m sorry to hear that! It doesn’t work for everyone but definitely a cheap try vs believing the dealer diagnostic

And my back is better after a week or so.

      If you read the comments you’ll see that it helped a ton of people and some people had a truly bad transmission. To me it’s worth $20 here and there to try some sensors on the cheap. If they don’t solve the problem then you eat the big ticket and know you tried. Multiple sensors play into this system so it’s likely they are all accurate and no one is scamming you lol

    • @gapperformance
      @gapperformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Josh Witherwax yeah the limp mode made it so I couldn’t restart it right after I got home. The next morning it started and the warning lights came back on and it went back into limp mode. It’s definitely not a guarantee fix but a cheap check before the dealer charges you for a new transmission. Hope that helps!
