  • Between 1975 and 1988, Vern Enyedy (1942-2004) operated what was known as the Piano Keep, where he retuned and repaired antique pianos. Eventually, the former Neubrand family dairy barn in Glenbank above Nakusp was transformed into a museum, where Enyedy entertained visitors from around the world. By 1988, the Piano Keep had grown to such size and stature that Enyedy relocated to Revelstoke, where the Trans Canada Highway would be able to make the collection more accessible to tourists. The Piano Keep would then operate in Revelstoke’s Minto Manor mansion as a bed-and-breakfast/museum/piano shop until Enyedy’s passing.
This video shows dozens of Arrow Lakes residents attending a 1987 tour of the Piano Keep. Enyedy is introduced by Milt Parent before giving a grand tour of the various pieces in the collection.
Note: This has been transcoded from a second-generation copy of a long-play videocassette, and the sound quality is not terrific. Adjust volume accordingly.
