    Nice 👍👏 . My voice over not having depth. How can i change it in audacity.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depth comes from your voice obviously, your microphone and interface/mixer and your recording space.

      Try to eradicate steps 2 and 9 and those are the steps that will affect the quality of your audio.
      Check the channel out as there are videos specifically on making your recorded voice sound better which should help.

    Is is possible to add a custom voice filter in audacity. Like if I want to use a man's voice to my performance. To make the recorded voice a filter? I haven't found any info on if its a possibility. Would be cool.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you can create custom voice effects and filters in Audacity using the Change Pitch and Change Speed effects. Maybe even Vocoder would be interesting.

    this is great thanks. would reverb be the same as 'tracking vocal' effect that's in garageband?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm glad you found the video helpful! While reverb and the 'tracking vocal' effect share similarities in providing spatial depth to vocals, they are not the same as reverb adds a sense of space and ambiance while 'tracking vocal' effect emphasizes doubling or layering vocals.

    Hi, Mike!
    I'm new to audio recording and no matter what I tried in audacity, I still hear a hiss. I tried a Sony mic, a maono mic pm 421 I just got this, and a plextone as well. All of them give me hiss.
    I record using my laptop and I have an air conditioning unit on, around 2 meters away. I can get rid of the hiss using repeated noise reduction application in audacity, but it kinda kills some of my voice.
    What are your thoughts on this? I need to narrate some stuff, but can't get a really clean recording.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd recommend that the air conditioning needs to be off as a start. Second I'd look at your recording space, if it's acoustically treated then you could look at using a condenser mic with an interface or if not acoustically treated you'd be better with a dynamic mic through an interface but definitely turn off the air conditioning before recording.

      @@MikeRussell Ohhh... No way around that one I guess. Yeah the maono pm421 has pop filters and a shock mount too. I'll try your suggestions man. Thanks for getting back to me 🙂

    For a beginner which is easier to learn Audacity or Adobe Audition? Can either one make parts of a voice-over sound like they are coming from different directions?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Either can do what you ask

    How to make it sound as if it comes through a wall?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To make a sound seem like it's coming through a wall, you can cut high frequencies using EQ, boost some mid-range frequencies, add a touch of reverb and possibly lower the volume.
