For me, I'm taking a wait and see attitude about Sinwar's appointment, I'm torn as far as what this could mean for the Palestinian people. Another factor that isn't mentioned in this interview is the changes that are happening in the US. Even with Biden still in the White House, we are seeing a change in rhetoric from Harris. It could just be a political stunt in order to be elected, but from what she has said in so many words to the Israeli authorities is enough is enough. While being in an israeli prison for years and years he learned hebrew, read books from all the Shin Bet leaders (and former leaders) and other important books from people in the army, security agencies, forner presidents, prime ministers and ministers, politicians in general. For me, I'm taking a wait and see attitude about Sinwar's appointment, I'm torn as far as what this could mean for the Palestinian people. Another factor that isn't mentioned in this interview is the changes that are happening in the US. Even with Biden still in the White House, we are seeing a change in rhetoric from Harris. It could just be a political stunt in order to be elected, but from what she has said in so many words to the Israeli authorities is enough is enough. We can't turn our back on the Palestinian people in Gaza. We can't turn a blind eye to the suffering of innocent children. We need a ceasefire deal and we need it now. No matter who the top players are, the US is right in the thick of it and as far as I know, our government doesn't want a regional war.
