      indeed, very refreshing to see a third competitor already threatening the two giants with their lower tier products. interesting how most titles REBAR being on helps it quite a bit, meaning their memory channels are rather wide and are able to handle the extra bandwidth, but not memory starved as obviously it can be pretty steady for frame times. with the driver uplift that has happened i think we'll see Arc cards on this year's end steam survey somewhere in the center of the list, even more so the A750 even though the A770 is better than Nvidia's 3060 in price.

      ikr?
      Honestly I was starting to loose faith in Intel, but now I feel like Nvidia is definitely going to feel the hurt as Intel shows them up on the budget market and AMD takes them up on the high end.
      I also wonder if Nvidia's CPU launch is going to be just as shoddy as Intel's GPU launch.
      but one thing is for certain, the constant team red VS team green high end flexathon is finally dead as team blue will add too many variables for Nvidia and AMD to constantly one-up each other without getting caught out by Intel with GPU's, and the same will happen in the CPU market when Nvidia starts making their own CPU's.
      I also really like the idea of having R G B companies competing for R G B gamer attention, especially since we'll soon be able to make a pure AMD/Nvidia/Intel build and get rigs that are much more optimized, much less bottlenecked, and with much clearer pros and cons in various areas of computing be it raw gaming performance, raw production performance, or raw price-performance.

      I was seriously surprised at Metro Exodus RT performance. ARC could be a serious contender in the datacentre/workstation GPU compute space within the decade, which makes a ton of sense considering how much money there is in the datacentre accelerator space. However I'm not holding my breath for small businesses and independent creators considering Intel's history with segmenting workstation & server features like ECC & AVX512 behind Xeon. Yea, nothing here is going to hold a candle to Nvidia's top end cards anyway. Time to bite the bullet and realize that despite the high prices and the corporatism, Nvidia is still pretty much the way to go and it's good to stick with them.
      Quick response to the unoriginal and expected responses below: No, not everyone is going to buy the 4090 RTX or the bleeding top end card, which, like a Rolls Royce, sells for exponentially more than its objective performance value. On the other hand, gamers can invest in a product line with only the highest standards, and it is the standard bearer of bleeding edge top-of-line performance who sets precedent on the core product line that runs from the 4090 on down to the future 4070. Those who make that investment are placing stock in Nvidia to continue to deliver and push towards farther ends than mediocre, which is currently what AMD has on offer. If AMD's current CPU architecture and lineup are any sign whatsoever as to what portends for its GPU lineup, all I can say is: Best of luck with your rig and let's hope for some modicum of reliability in performance across the benchmarks.
      In the interim, if you actually want those prices to come down, your best bet as opposed to running around like a decapitated goose trying to find the best "alternative" is to double down on Nvidia and hedge towards their top end products rather than dilute performance by investing in second-tier equipment. If you're going to actually acknowledge inflation and the cost to develop such high-powered GPUs, you're doing a service to objective performance rather than caving to AMD's pleas to give them a try as they try literally anything they can to edge their way into Nvidia's territory outside of actually producing the best possible cards.

The GPUs clearly have more ability than they're currently seeing and that's the most exciting part. I'm glad Intel didn't put a stupid price tag on them because Im sure they'd have just gone "see, no one wants it", but if they wanted to sell these in a notable quantity they'd need to knock another $50 off the price. These would make a great budget build going into 2023, but $330 isn't exactly budget build money when you're getting sub-lowest-end-2-year-old-card performance. Who knows! These are doing an excellent job of punching in at the right spot for 1080p gaming.
    The only pain point I see is requiring resizable bar. That is going to hurt them a bit in market share as a lot of folks will need to buy a lot of new equipment to work with these cards that they technically won't need for the AMD (6000 series) or Nvidia cards (3000 series).
    It's not a problem and it's good to see that they are using new technology, but since a lot of folks are still in 7th and 8th gen Intel and 1st and 2nd gen Ryzen it's going to be a bit of a stretch to ask folks to buy into Intel if they also have to buy all new other parts.
    I think it's a strong competition and I'll likely grab a 770 even though I don't have anywhere for it to slot in yet just to have. Might chuck it into a PC for my nephew's to play some games. • @neh4pres
      @neh4pres ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The thing is, Intel is at a huge disadvantage, where game devs do not code support for these cards, and Intel has not had the time and experience tuning drivers for every game out there. So I'm thinking as install base increases, and devs start optimizing for Intel, these cards might age like fine wine.

    • @fictionalgaming912
      @fictionalgaming912 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@neh4pres Yes that is my thought; however, I feel like it won't be that long because I am sure that Intel doesn't want to be left behind. Maybe they have a system that is like plug-in for DEVs that will assist in getting optimization done faster. But i agree with your statement 100%.
