- We're going technicolor with Ral Partha's Fearless Frost Dragon. More of a fearless fantasy dragon now. Plenty of bright colors helps to put the fantasy into this dragon.

This is probably my favorite of all of the dragons you've painted. I love this scheme on this specific model so much... well done, sir.
That color scheme worked really well with that dragon model. You captured a fantastical fantasy look. Good job doctor!
In my opinion one of the nicest dragon sculpts of all time, great video!
I remember this Model in my LGS when I was a child, I always wanted to own one. Thanks for painting this and taking me back to my early teenage years.
Great video. Just was gifted this model today and randomly saw this in my suggested feed - serendipity!
An amazing colour scheme and final result. Very inspirational.
Love Ral Partha sculpts, and the way the paint job lools like a fairy dragon or a pseudodragon
Ender Panda I’ve got a few myself. Like many fantastic figures from that time period they are just more creative than now a days. However many of the independent artists on patron are making some very creative resin sculpts.
Absolutely beautiful, you managed to tie together many colors into a cohesive look. The wing technique is simple but really effective!
Probably the best rendition of this dragon I've ever seen !
Well done Doc ........This is a fantastic coulour sceme . the only change I would make would have been the horns which I would have left as a bone colour ,...it leaves that thought of dragons being possible in the mind of a viewer. But it doesn't matter what i think lol .....It's your dragon ,...and it's important to have it the way you want ,....after all your the one that's going to see it the most lol . Love your work Doc . Cheers
beautiful painting on a beautiful model
Your music has changed 😱 great mini, as always
your attention to details is incredible! it came out amazing and gives me a big feywild vibe in all the right ways
Love this! This is 100% a dragon your party will run into in the Feywild, maybe a member of the Court of Spring?
One word: wonderful ✨😍
Another beautiful piece!
Amazing as always
Absolute Amazing oh and I love Dragon Models too
Really beautiful job here.
Always nice to see these old school Partha sculpts get some love! Thanks Doc!
MOST Excellent!
BEAUTIFUL!
Very cool! Quite the blast from the past and it can still be purchased over at *Iron Wind Metals* website!! 😃
CRAZY BEAUTIFUL. I was going to say Absolutely Beautiful until I noticed the guy before me said the same thing... LOL
Awesome work Doc. I really admire your blends esp. the horn. Beautiful.
Ironwind Metals/Ral Partha part number 10-461
Oh, man, if this is the same dragon you've shown off in your backlog videos, I've been wondering when you'd get to it for a while now. It's really great to get to see you working on it after all that time.
You know, other than the shapes of the wings, you've now got a pretty good fairy dragon look...
Great video, Doc. I really enjoyed this one. My favorite videos are the ones like this where you paint a D&D style model and you talk through the process you went through to develop the finished model. For example, the variety of colors in this project.
Looks awesome !
It looks so amazing! You should rename it “Spectrum Dragon”.
Love this - such an interesting palette - makes the dragon come alive
I have this one since the 90s, small but pretty dragon! I actually did not know what brand it was
I think this might be my favorite model you have painted. Very cool, well done.
This end up awesome! That's one o my favorites
looking good thare like em post will see more
I really like the colour scheme concept. I will definitely put it one off my next projects. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Came together in an amazing way!
Wow, this looks fantastic
absolutely gorgeous work.
I really enjoy the sculpt on this thing and your paint job is magnificent! I'm adding one or two of these to my eBay list, now, for sure.
looks great, I just finished a young silver dragon I've had for years. I had painted on it like 3 times trying to figure it out. I finished it a day ago with a 50/50 purple and silver mix, then dry brushed the wings and edge highlighted the body with a electric blue.
Looks fantastic. What do you do with all the random miniatures you paint? Do you have a big display cabinet somewhere? Would love to see that someday.
Cool - and nice to see something that bright for once - I'm not brave enough to go that high in the color spectrum.
That said, one thing I think is quite fun is if I have the opportunity, I divide colors in primaries (including white and black) and secondaries, and then see what I can get away with - a red wizard (primary) with a magical effect in a secondary color not related to the primary, like green or grey? Yes please. I also used this kind of mindfuck when I painted a chaos army for someone, but reversed - the troops main color was grey, but the secondary was red. It gave a pretty bizarre but still uniform look to those little cutie pies.
Yeah dude
Love the look of this one! I love the look of all your work, too, but you know, this one is real good :)
If you need inspiration for something to do on a future figure, could try doing a medieval fantasy figure in a comic book or Borderlands style. I've been trying it with a few figures (still WIP's), and would love to see what you would do with something like that.
Cheers!
Can I ask why you don't use a wet palate? It seems to be the "weapon of choice" for most figure painters now.
Because it's how I learned to paint. Also a wet palette will keep your paint moist, but it's hard to control the dilution of the paint.
I'm a recent subscriber very much enjoying your work. Whilst you've probably answered this before, may I ask what do you do with all these models. New fan from down under. Keep safe.
reminds me of a Mantis Shrimp. :)
Straight out of "Flight of Dragons"
HI. I've painted one of Massive Darkness spiders almost identically. Used greyish blue and about the same browns and looks trippy.
BTW. I have a question. Do you paint shadow areas in shadow colours or just colour of that element and whatever shadow is casted there. If you know what I mean.
I have wanted to make a galrauch dragon conversion for aos. Been in resarch for almost a year still can't find the basis for this any advice?
Ok when I layer, and I’m new to this. When my mini dries, it leaves awful streaks with transparent patches of paint. Did I thin my paint to much or to little, I also use distilled water to thin my paints. Any advice from you fellow painters?
May have too much paint on your brush. Wipe it a few more times on your towel before putting it to use.
I think it's beautiful but don't really see red or orange in the scheme at all, which is fine, just seems you lost the "every color" idea. I think it worked out for the best though :)
