  • Let's paint wash a rancor! I keep a large supply of toasted brushes that I pick up from the discount bin at my local art store. These brush are not only good for terrain painting and glue application, but also miniature painting.

Not a Dr. Faust painting without at least a little Camo Black Brown!

Cool 3d print. Nice paint job there.

This is actually a variation of my goto method to paint figures: paint the base and a highlight, and then add a glaze/wash to darken it, and the reason for that is because I'm really not a fan of the bubblegum look that many model painters go for ('push the highlights!"), and skin on large figures really need a ton of washes to get that slightly transluscent look that real skin has - even critters like rancors, so that effect came out incredibly well here.

A monster with a face only a fat man could love. Good model and great advice for bigger pieces.

Thanks for yet another great tutorial :) Do you typically use a thinner medium when creating your washes or do you simply use water?

Thank you for sharing; For the VMC Cork Brown Basecoat has the paint been thinned out? or direct from the bottle?
