    Great work!!! I love the orange brown effect you did on his wings! Makes me want to go out and buy one of them! Thanks for sharing

    The "fingers" on a bat wing are called digits. Also, the bony structures in a bird's wing are called digits. Therefore, one could assume that the bony "fingers" of a dragon wing could, in fact, be called "digits." Just for your edification.

    Looking good. I also like how the sculptor of this figure recognizes that wings are, in fact, arms or their equivalent.

    Great video, although I recommend using washes after the main base coat. That way you have greater control over the highlight colours as they aren't altered by the wash. Doing this really makes the model pop.

    your not kidding about the reaper stuff, i wanted to build an Undead Army based on the World of Warcraft Scourge, i got about 20 figures from them for less than $100 bucks. I'll have to watch the rest of your vids, i need to learn to do glowing blue eyes

    First all very nice video! He looks amazing! I was wondering is there anyway you can list the Paint Numbers? I am still learning what and how to mix paints and finding same paints you used without the numbers is proving more difficult then I thought.

    Great channel. 2 questions:
    1) What glaze do you use with the ink washes? I've seen your magic wash vid. Is it Pledge?
    2) What do you thin the paint with for the airbrush? Water or another medium?? (it would be great if you could do more content on airbrushing! Specifically with Vallejo paint.)
    Thanks.

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Stephen J 1) Depnds. Normally just water. Sometime I add some Glaze Medium. 2) Vallejo Airbrush thinner.

  • @MrDEtheridge

    How do you handle the "shiny" factor for the ink washes.
    It looks like for the majority of the Paint Job, the figure seems super slick and glossy.

    Amazing...If I send you a model will you paint it like this and send it back? I will pay you

    • @beavisemojihere
      @beavisemojihere 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would paint a model for you and send it back. I would do my very best to get these effects. I would only ask for payment for the return shipping-- I just love painting and basing minis so much that I would do it for free. If you give me your email address, I can send you some pictures of minis I've done so you can see if you like them. I use Vallejo and games workshop paints and effects. I would base it for you too if you want.

    I've been wondering what to do with my own Cinder. I primed it and it's just sitting there gathering dust. Time to fire up the airbrush!Also, the music was a bit too loud in places. You speak kinda low at times and the music runs over you.

    As for, "Show up on the table once, get killed of, never seen again", I do this stuff for display, not gaming. (exception being Battletech mecha). Do it for the art, even if it is a quick job.

    Still super useful video. Do you varnish the bones models?

    • @beavisemojihere
      @beavisemojihere 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They haven't answered, but I would always varnish models, no matter the brand. For Bones specifically, you also need to prime them first. Sometimes they need a wash with soapy water first to clean off the mold release agent. If you try priming a piece and see that the primer beads up and/or shrinks while still wet, it needs to be cleaned.

    Did you have any problems with pinning the Bones material? I am thinking of making a weapon from a paperclip and inserting it into a Bones Figs hand.

      +Shockwave Yes, but it's not as accurate.

      +Doctor Faust's Painting Clinic what do you mean? More detailed? I appreciate your reply.

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Shockwave Drybrushing is a bit crude when factoring the affects of overhead lighting. If you don't know what that means, don't worry about it. Dryrbushing is fine, just not always the best method since it highlights just the raised edges and not necessarily where the light hits.

    • @shockmac
      @shockmac 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Doctor Faust's Painting Clinic I kind of do. In your tutorials you use you fingers to describe light.over head. I'm starting to kind of understand. I'll go back to that video and try to make sense of it all.
      Thank you

    Would an air brush be required or could one do this with a brush?

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regular brush is fine. Airbrush just makes doing the basecoat quicker.

    • @ThePaintingClinic

      +redgreen09 Wash them with rubbing alcohol before primer. Still an occasional issue with them being too glossy even after a flat varnish, as you may notice on this project.
