- While in the Bay area I wanted to check out some of the best schools in the world. Stanford University and UC Berkeley are both highly competitive, well known colleges in California and I was excited to get the chance to walk around and explore their campuses for a day.

My story so far........
Bouncing around North America and Asia, I've never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying in Korea and China for many years. While I've had the chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. The road ahead is never a straight line, but a path that zigs and zags, leading you to amazing places, people, and experiences you could never imagine. Be flexible and open minded, embracing the uncertainty of life and letting the current whisk you away........

My sister is at Berkeley and she loves it there!
The views from the Campanile (bell tower) are fantastic!
I always love finding towers or high vantage points when I travel to get a great view!
Why would you go to Berkeley, home of local and independent shops, and go to a global coffee chain? There's amazing coffee shops in Berkeley like Fellini, My Coffee, and Coffee Conscious

This is my second year as a grad student at Berkeley, and I had no clue you could go inside of the Campanile lol
Also, next time you’re there, give Strada Cafe a try. Delicious coffee and a chill outside seating area!
I ended going to Berk over Stan ... I couldn’t afford to go Stan
Totally understand….it’s amazing how expensive colleges and universities are these days. Honestly I couldn’t afford to go to either school 😅
I'm in the same boat! Unfortunately, Stanford is just too much. That said, Berkeley has an amazing academic program! The main difference between Stanford/Berkeley I've been considering is student population. I assume at Berkeley there is a much greater of a necessity to be independent to find various opportunities (both good and bad).

What is the main difference between these two universities?
I was only there for an afternoon, but from what I could see the architecture is quite different on each campus and there are a lot more students that attend UC Berkeley. Stanford is a private school and has a higher tuition cost I think. Both schools are very competitive in terms of enrollment. I would recommend checking out their admissions offices for more information.

Stanford is way better than Berkeley
Depends on the department. Both excell internationally in a wide range of fields with Stanford superior in some and Berkeley superior in others.
Berkeley is the world's number one in Data Science and chemistry and the US's number two Noble Prize winner. Berkeley > Stanford.
