Bouncing around North America and Asia, I've never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying in Korea and China for many years. While I've had the chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. The road ahead is never a straight line, but a path that zigs and zags, leading you to amazing places, people, and experiences you could never imagine. I grew up in Chicago but moved to Cle 30 years ago when I was in my mid 30’s. This is definitely home to me now and like any other midsize large city we have our issues. That being said, I’ve been to many other large cities and at the end of the day day, the traffic is reasonable. The housing prices are reasonable, and the quality of life ispretty good overall.
I live here. I love your video.
@@mikewypasek8855 Thank you! 🙏😊 Cleveland is a very nice city and I enjoyed my weekend there.
I shut it off as soon as I saw the mask. Don't forget to shower with it on. Asshole.
Do some homework before you start trashing the place. Cleveland his it’s troubles like any big city but it’s still vibrant and doesn’t deserve to be degraded by someone that hasn’t done their homework.
The host gives serious Mr. Rogers vibes... Close your eyes and listen to him, I can almost hear him saying at the end, "won't you be, my neighbor" lolol
I’m honored to be compared to Fred 😊 I remember watching him on TV when I was young.
I grew up in Cleveland. He went places I've never been...
I honestly just walked around downtown 😅 but it was fun to see. I hope I can visit again and check out more.
This is just a walk around tourist spots.. This is not a reflection of how people in Cleveland actually live and what most of them really do, regardless of their economic status. He says "a city in decline" but none of the decline or the reasons for it are shown or discussed.
It’s true I am very much a tourist most places I go and I do walk a lot and just try and observe / share what I see. The ‘decline’ refers mainly to the population leaving due to the industrial jobs drying up. As far as I could see the downtown area of the city was pretty empty….but again I was only there for a day. I would like to visit again and I was very impressed with the architecture.
The only thing that has not recovered and flourished in Cleveland since the city's low point in the 1970s is the population, although some of that is slowly returning with some empty nesters and young couples now residing in one of the many new Apartment complexes right downtown or over in the Tremont area and Gordon's Square.
I love watching videos of visitors impressions of Cleveland. But your commentary ticked me off. PS: Get a better haircut from a skilled barber.
nice video
@@VidHala Thank you 🙏😁 I enjoy my time time in Cleveland
great video! i live in cleveland and IMO you did the city justice in your video, coulda shown the stadium but ya got everything else. the city was in decline kinda still is but over the last decade id say they been upgrading Cleveland take ohio city if you go down around the corner and see all the houses have all been remodeled and painted really colorful plus lots of new apartment and condos. but all in all I give it 5 stars.. ps I don't recommend walking the streets at night tho if possible
Very cool places indeed!! Thanks ❤for sharing

You are definitely wrong about the mrt and many other things. I am curious: Didn't you know Singapore is a tropical country and it is situated 1 degree north of the equator? So what seasons are you talking about apart from being summer all year long? You just contradicted yourself by saying Singapore is the most expensive city yet commenting that hawker's food is dirt cheap. Lastly, you need to know the Singapore government need to carefully select who they want as new emigrants every year because they are spoiled with choices. But one thing is for sure, though: You will never make the list.
@@johnchua9387 I’ve been wrong about lots of things in life and we each perceive things differently based on our own experiences. I would say the world is full of contradictions and I prefer to live in one that’s not always black and white, but shades of grey. Just because my experience is different from yours doesn’t make it wrong….just different. I only spend a few days a year in Singapore and typically enjoy myself but I prefer cooler / colder weather because I enjoy being outside often ☺️
@AtHomeAnywhere We all have our differences, opinions, and preferences. That's ok by me. My initial comment is to correct the misinformation that you had about Singapore. I had lived in different places for many years where there were four seasons, but ultimately, I returned to live in my birth place because I just love the atmosphere and the people. The proximity to visiting different South East Asia countries just makes it more interesting. One weekend, I can be in Bali, and next I can hop on the plane and enjoy my night out in Bamgkok, all within 2 hours of travel. Never mind the weather, we can't change that, and neither can we change the size of Singapore. Not everything you perceived in Singapore is in black and white. You are naive for saying that. But again, you are only a tourist who spends a few days around the touristy area of Singapore. So you never experienced the real Singapore, so to speak. The same can be applied to your birth country, democracy is not always democracy as it was meant to be, whether it is the UK, USA, or any European democractic countries. I had lived in the United States where 1st amendment is supposedly accorded to everyone with freedom of speech, but was it? I worked in the local newspaper when I was living in the United States, and I dare say your skin color determined how strong the 1st amendment applies to you. The same goes for the UK and any other European countries. What I want to say is, what you see, it is never what it is unless you have lived in that place long enough to know the truth underneath it.
@ I agree 100 percent with you about needing to live somewhere long enough to know a place ☺️Thank you so much for your insight into Singapore 🙏
We got 2 seasons here hot and hotter , I have to admit having literally sweaty and sticky all day round including some of the hotter weather in certain months of the night is painful.
@@CrossbredmiMiyang It’s good that there are a lot of indoor malls in Singapore ☺️ at least you can cool down in there
Very nice shot video. Thanks for bringing memories back of Cleveland. The city is not declining according to your video. It looks clean and beautiful.
I thought the same thing. Everything looked clean, safe and fun. Singapore is for people who has a good job and have money. You are right.
7:36 You were on a new MRT line at the Marina Bay station (probably during off-peak hours), which is a touristy location. Try taking a ride on the older red or green lines serving Orchard Road and the financial areas such as Raffles Place between 5:30 and 7pm and the carriages will be packed like sardines.
I thought the station looked new. It was really nice and I can imagine that other lines are much busier during rush hour times.
It’s ok. Our population crossed 6M. Don’t need more people to stress the limited imported resources, infrastructure needs, etc.
Same here.I love to visit Australia but if u ask me to live there.Nope,I still prfr my super small country
Never use the word “never” as you never know what can happen …
So true.....in fact....Singapore is on a list of places I could see myself living...I would need to take a lot of shorter trips to colder parts of Asia like Korea, Japan, and China in winter though haha.
In s'pore, everyone is given equal opportunities. Those who study and work hard can earn enough to lead comfortable lives. Those that don't take education or work seriously end up with low wages and they have only themselves to blame. The govt doesn't owe them a living.
There will be joyful walking time, of course after heavy tropical storm 😁, and the blossoming of trumpet lily along the Sg River. One could walk from Marina Barrage all the way to Dawnson Place, have a nice little Kopi break at Zion Road Hawker Centre right opposite the Great World City.
My boss was quarantined in MBS hotel room during his trip back from US, when Sg was still in Covid-19 Lock Down. He told me, not even a single human being right before the vomiting Merlion to catch the water spray. 😂 Post Covid, Sg really packed like hell, and the inflation is a bit of off-putting scary.
The trains are packed full during weekends and weekdays early morning or evenings when people go to work or leave for home.
I thought that’s what it must be….but it was nice to always be able to find a seat 😁👍
@AtHomeAnywhere I prefer it to be empty 😂
A small country very crowded, so many foreigners
No money no talk.
WTF are you talking about.. the MRT is the main mode of transport.. most people are at work.. its busy during the rust hour.. nobody goes walking during the hot part of the day.. the city come alive once the sunset.. this apply to all asian country..
Go back to the States, bro
Singapore is a country that offer less income to most peoples working there but drain your bank account on very basic daily needs like Food which is almost double of what you pay in the year 2020.
Maybe prices on everyday goods will go down one day and it will be more affordable….especially for people who do live in Singapore.
@@AtHomeAnywhere Based on 1980 until now, the price of everydays goods NEVER goes down once the price is up....usually usually maximum 10 cents per 1 to 2 year....But due to the 2020 incidents, price went up 75% to 100%++ .... looks like its time to change to a new goverment to do a better job.
@ryokolynn6948 Only losers will think this way. If your income is low, don't blame anyone. Blame yourself for not working hard enough to get your dream job. Every Singaporeans are given equal opportunity and platform to improve your living standard regardless of your status on education. Since independence. That has been the quickest and fairest route to get people out living in squatters then and improve on their social standings with a good education. If you decide not to put enough effort into your education, you will definitely end up in the low income bracket that I can guarantee you. The same can be said to any developed countries around the world. It's a hard fact that qualifications are a fundamental stepping stone for any high income job coupled with experience, and you will end up with a good enough income to live comfortably in Singapore. I have personally been through it, and many of my circles of friends are in the same situation, but we all put in enough effort to loft ourselves out of those squatters we lived in when we were young. Nothing is free, and if you are Singaporean, you should know that we imported 90% of our basic needs. Go fogure why it cost what it cost today. As a matter of fact, go lived in another developed country and compare the prices (based on their local earning power and currencies), you will realize that Singapore is not that expensive after all. The only item that is extremely expensive is trying to own a car. Given the small size geographically, it is understandable, and that is why the government put so much effort into our public transportation systems. Housing is relatively affordable as a developed country. Taxes are low enough, and the basic necessities are priced reasonably given that we imported 90% of our food item supplies. So, go do proper research and, if possible, ask any of your foreign friends living in a developed country how they cope with their basic necessities inckuding their income taxes in their country, and you will be surprised.
mrt nobody probably because it’s not peak hour
There’s multiple reasons why our mrt looked empty, it could be because it’s a weekday and most people are at work and our country is one of the densest place in the world so what our father of hdb did was to make the various neighbourhood self sufficient whereby whatever amenities you need (F&B, Supermarket, Malls, schools, health care even work etc) can be found near your neighbourhood or online and you don’t really need to venture into the city area. Hence, we always give others the impression that our city is not as crowded as others, example, Singapore(8332 pax per sq km) is more densely populated than Shanghai (3,900 pax per sq km) and Tokyo (6,158 pax per sq km) but nobody thinks we’re more crowded. 😅
That’s really nice that people don’t need to go out too much and can find everything in their own neighborhoods 😁👍
Cute otters and you were certainly lucky to spot them. Nice video.

If my kid ever emigrate from Singapore it will be because of the heat and humidity. 🙂 Singapore is a "working" city like New York. Accommodation is expensive (like in NY) and you would only want to move here if you have a job here and you can pay for a home with that salary. Or you are independently wealthy or have a nest egg that can finance your retirement here. With a city like NY, you move there for employment, pay the high rent to access the high paying jobs, and when you retire, you move to a less expensive neighbourhood like a suburb or even a small rural town. Singapore is a city-state. There are NO suburbs or cheap neighbourhoods to move to. So most of the time, we haunt the malls (air-conditioned) or public spaces (e.g. Libraries), and stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day (11 am to 4 pm). We come out at night when it's cooler. Only "mad dogs and Englishmen" goes out in the midday sun. Also tourists (covered under the generic "Englishmen") We have the Night F1 race, a Night Safari (zoo), itinerant Night Markets ("Pasar Malam"), a Night Festival, and the light shows at Marina Bay Sands, and Gardens by the Bay are held every night. And of course pubs and nightspots. Get the hint? But most tourists from temperate climes don't make the adjustment, cos back home, the night is to be feared.
I did the night zoo this trip and had a fantastic time! Totally agree that night is the time to be out and about in Singapore. I just happen to like being out and about in the daytime too haha.
Hey, is it raining heavily in SG? I wanted to travel next week, will it be too bad to roam around city? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
occasional showers. prepare a umbrella also there are malls and building to take shelter too bring UV protection cream.
Singapore is a boring overpriced cross between a mall and a theme park run by an authoritarian over lord! Elections are a farce and the repression of opposition is total.
Its tropical, not seasonless
I should have said a wet season and a dry season. I was honestly just thinking more about the temperature. But I’ve always lived in places where the temperature fluctuates a lot (hot summer and cold snowy winters) Just my personal preference and bias ☺️
