Wes, I was thinking maybe you can add yourself attempting the tricks you review to your videos. Even the ones that are done all "hollywood" it would be cool to see your take on how you would be able to pull it off in real life, even if not possible it would be neat to see how close you'd be able to get. I think that would be something most of us would love to see. Love your vids and the other boys as well... keep it up!
This series is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites of the experts react genre. Also mentioned it in a previous comment but would love to see you do the magic show scene from the beginning of the movie "Willow". Its a really cool scene and appears to be practically done.
i love how excited you get when the actors/actresses actually learn and do the magic. Heres my clip suggestion. Theres a game called Apex Legends and a character named Mirage. In the lobby you can see Mirage perform a lil sleight of hand by making his gun disappear. Just something i thought was pretty awesome n thought you'd enjoy.
These videos have gotten me through many long anxiety-filled sleepless nights. I've come to rely and really look forward to Wes notifications. Grateful that you do what you do. 🙏🏻
As a 42yo I feel you. To be fair, media, technology, fashion ages quicker than we do because it is always changing and evolving. That's what I tell myself anyway! Haha :p
0:03-0:09: I completely agree, Mr Barker. These videos of yours are right on the top of my favourite moments of the week. Thank you for making Life that much better and more enjoyable mate. EDIT: Wow, ok, those 12 minutes went by way faster than they should have. Was that also a magic trick? It's my least favourite of all of them, if it was. These need to be at least 2-3 times longer man, I need my fix! 😆 In all seriousness though, it's not just the review that I love, it's the incredibly witty and humourous way in which you do the review. I truly do wish these were longer, I enjoy them immensely. Thanks again man.
I just re-watched Night at the Museum, and there is one scene of Ben Stiller's character doing some slight of hand. It's fairly short, but might be worth reviewing if you do another one of these videos.
I love how movies make the audience so engaged, like the shadow trick they all look worried about the guy. If only the people watching actually cared that much...
Hey, thanks for the comments on the Elf segment, very useful. Merry Christmas to you, your better half 🥰, and your little boy, Eric. He's such a rascal! 😂
LOL. I swear I owe Chris Ramsey for having you guys on his channel or I would have never discovered you guys. Both you (Wes) and also Eric are now two of my favorite magicians and comedians.
Omg you must have read my mind on the last video because I was thinking of the drifter from destiny 2 but never said anything. Your the best magician ever!
😎0:03 I'll tell ya what's more fun than that... it's watching them hilarious & awesome videos you've been doing the past couple months, *ESPECIALLY the voiceovers & scene reenactments!* 🤟😜👍🎬🎩🎭📽️
I watch these reaction videos on my break, after listening to B.O.B pretty much all day at work... I’m worried in a Wes-A-holic! Loving your thrift store channel.
Fun fact! The kid from the babadook does a ton of magic in the movie. Promos I’m not just saying this to make you watch a scary movie. Also still petitioning fro SHADE to make an appearance on this show. Love it
Hi Wes! I've been loving this video series! I just wanted to let you know there is some magic in The Walking Dead World Beyond that came out this year... Episode 6 at about 32:20, and Episode 7 at 4:00. There's also also a cool shadow puppet thing at the beginning and the end of Episode 6 that is worth checking out too!
Movie suggestion: There was a coin vanish in "The Greatest Showman". Barnum calls the guy a sleight of hand master and he just refers to himself as a thief. Might be worth reviewing? Big fan and I love these videos 👍
I play Destiny 2 and I was curious what was the magic trick you where showcasing and I was just like : Hey, gatta get the motes in the bank (drifter quote). Btw I highly recomend the game its free to play and its graphicly beautifull game.
Fun fact about Destiny and the Drifter: There's a game mode in there called Gambit and the Drifter basically in charge out that, and he lied and keep secrets about alot of stuff, also he's quite mysterious if you not deep into the lore. So the roiling "coin" actually make sense and fit the character
BTW. 'The Third Beat' is used all over the place. Comedy has the Third Repetition rule, more action films than you can imagine have three gunshots in a scene etc. etc. The third is as useful everywhere as it is in music.
It's not technically a magic trick, but the movie Scrooged has my absolute favorite zero-budget special effect of all time. As in, how does a golf ball appear in Bill Murray's mouth? So simple, yet it baffled the shit out of me the first, like, eight times I watched the movie because the misdirection's so good.
Fellow in the straitjacket is the actor who played brad in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Anthony Hopkins also did a beautiful two deck do as I do trick with Ann Margaret (sp?), She was greatly impressed. Check out the british film The Magicians, great bit about stooges and a radio controlled tossed out ball to get a randomly selected volunteer.
L'Illusioniste is an animated film from 2010 specifically about a magician from 1956. Obviously no real magic, since it's animated, but I wonder if the stuff in it was time appropriate.
I think that ventriloquism is really funny when done right, I really enjoy a good performance. It is not usually magical, but I do not know, juggling or sword eating is not very magical either and you can enjoy good performance. I especially like Achmed, the dead terrorist, but different people might have different sense of humour. Or pay too much attention to ventriloquist moving lips when the puppet is talking.
TV Bones Season 11 ep 7 (''The Promise in the Palace) the entire episode is centered around an escape artist's murder and happens in a Magic Castle lookalike. Cameos from Handsome Jack and others. Lots of magic in that one
Have you considered watching the Professor Browne introduction from Bedknobs and Broomsticks? 1971 Starring Angela Landsbury and David Tomlinson (known for Mary Poppins and other things).
There’s a series of magic tricks on criminal minds season 4 episode 9. The episode is called “52 Pickup,” and it’s exactly 26 minutes in. It’s so very clearly not practical magic, imo, but I would love to see you talk about it and maybe there IS a way to do those tricks in person.
It's really small trick but in the Mask of Zorro when Antonio Banderas's character first meets Catherine Zeta-Jones's character he does a trick with a rose. If you look up "Mask of Zorro rose" you will find it with some annoying music over it. Either way great videos keep them coming.
Yay...I'm the first like! Keep it coming dude, I love this stuff :) Great way to kick off a Friday morning. I did a similar cotton ball trick with marshmallows, which was pretty effective.
Would love to get your take on Justin Willman's "Magic for humans" hes got 3 seasons on netflix and swears up and down that its all magic no camera tricks or actors, but some of the tricks seem... off or impossible to me? Like possibly some of the misdirection or tells are missed due to camera cuts?
These episodes are always Dope! But you know what's More Dope?!? A NEW Episode of Bottom Of The Barrel! What's going on Wes?! You guys did those 3 episodes back to back to back... and then nothing since. You know we're all patiently waiting for a new episode! That would be a nice Christmas present for all of us, Yaaa Filthy Animal. 👍🏼 🎅 👍🏼 🎅 👍🏼 🎅 Edit: I'm Sorry if I'm coming off at Winey Ay
It looks like Anthony Hopkins is at least putting on a good show of doing the ventriloquism himself. They don’t move their lips, but you can always see a ventriloquist’s throat moving, and he does it here, in time with the speech. Not sure if the speech is dubbed over later, though.
Houdini literally was the one to realise that hyping how difficult the trick was for the audiences to see was part of the act when the mysticism of magic fell out of favour. He would even over do the theatrics of difficulty just to make it look like an even greater feat.
Aww, Wes, too hard on yourself. When I woke up this evening and got to the list of new videos from my subscriptions, yours was the first one I clicked. :) PS. The 5000 views and 500 likes at this moment appeases my OCD handily.
Fun fact: the cotton balls that Buddy ate were actually cotton candy without color.

Really glad you reacted the Drifter in Destiny. Don't know if it was me or someone else you saw it from. But thank you.
These videos have gotten me through many long anxiety-filled sleepless nights. I've come to rely and really look forward to Wes notifications. Grateful that you do what you do. 🙏🏻
Something from 1978 isn't that old!!! *sitting in corner, feeling ancient, maybe crying a little* 😭
were not old. The others are too young

These are way fun. Your personality makes you perfect for TH-cam, and especially videos like this.

Yay. Woke up to find this ready to watch!
Have a great holiday season!
Is it just me, or was Anthony Hopkins a scary magician? Was waiting for something psychotic to happen!

Can you react to the magic trick my father did when he vanished when I was 6.... that would be great if you could reveal that one

Love your channel, Wes.
Anything from "The Magician" TV show with Bill Bixby... I remember watching that when I was a kid.
How do magicians do a one handed ball vanish in the first clip? That looked really good
"another 5 scenes expertly dissected and reviewed" cool, where do go to see that?
(j/k, love these videos dude!)
I love that scene in Elf 😂
Wow that game one was cool. Will farelll is such a freaking legend
The shadow trick can be done by projecting a shadow of a struggling man while the real person is behind the curtain being untied

Haha, you should take a look at Michael Scott's straight jacket trick in the Office
If you get the chance to watch that full episode of Supernatural, there was a lot more going on with that scene and the entire episode as a whole.
I know it’s animated, but Clopin and Esmeralda do some appearances and disappearances in Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame
Looked like Anthony Hopkins did the ventriloquist voice throwing too. Not surprised though, he’s a pro of pros.
