Hi do you keep all receipts in Quickbooks only or do you also keep them in your computer or on a cloud keep the originals? We just switched to digital and are saving all receipts in Dropbox only but now want to use QB but not sure if I can trust only keeping copies in QB only

Thank you for the information- I have not had any luck doing this with receipts for inventory purchases. It will bring in the entire bill as a "cost of goods sold" transaction but not add the individual items into inventory (even if I have had them before) Is there a way to do this?

Can you separate items on a receipt? Such as food and fuel? My husband drives OTR but his fuel receipts sometimes have his food on them as well.
You can do this be clicking 'add line' at the bottom of the receipt entry screen.

Is there a way to back out expenses that are not business related from your receipt? If I go to Staples and buy paper for my office but then buy a Coke to drink while I am going home, the Coke is not deductible. How do I handle that? Otherwise, what is the benefit of a receipt scanner? I just purchased the Epson rr600w.
Can’t do splits in the software. But you can split it inside QB afterwards

I'm having some trouble with this feature. I get a large number of receipts that do not match any existing transactions. I have a lot of old receipts that need to be matched with the transactions. Does this feature match receipts with cleared transactions? Is there another way or an easier way to do what I am trying to do? Thank you.

One problem with quick books is you can't bulk send the receipts inc the photos of the receipts to someone or save them all together to your hard drive etc. only the report. you might need the photos if you're asked for them and you'd have to do every one of them individually. If QB ever shut down or change the receipt part (like Wave did) you couldn't get the photos of the receipts back.
Not true.. you can download all the attachments in one shot

I went through it this morning for about an hour with QB and they said you couldn’t send all the files including the photos at once . You had to do it one at a time .

It gives three options in Receipts.
1. Review
2. Match
3. Create Expense
Would you please explain them. Also, create expense creates duplicate transactions in the bank register and ultimately the bank balance on qbo does not match with the actual bank statement.
You need to try to match it instead of creating it if its already categorized by the banking side
how many pages or pieces of receipts can you scan for 63.1 kb? is it possible to expand this limitation to include more scanned pages? thanks.

Mr. Garcia I have uploaded receipts to QBO profile but I can't see them when I toggle to the receipts tab. I used to be able to but I can't now. Do you know how to fix this?
You might be uploading them as attachments and not a receipts

On a different note, is it true that if a sales form is emailed with email ID having characters such as &_-* etc the email does not reach the client form QBO

@@HectorGarciaCPA I've come across a post that talks of special characters on email which will hamper delivery of sales invoices..

I keep getting duplicate expenses from the receipts I upload and I guess from the bank transactions being added. Is there a way to merge them or only have one expense without just deleting the duplicate expense? Am I doing something out of order? Thanks for your help! These videos are a life saver!!

Do not create expense. Creating expense creates duplicates. Create a bill instead if from UK it would not create a bank transaction but only bill.
Does the Raven Pro work with QB desktop also?
There is no workflow to scan directly into QB desktop, but you can scan to the computer and upload the files to QB that were scanned into the computer

How do you connect the scanner to talk to Quickbooks online?
The Scanner software would need top have direct integration to QBO.. you cant just do it with any scanner
I am scanning my sales receipts with an Epson Workforce scanner and emailing them to QBO and it just says

I am going kookoo!!!! I cant find transactions or receipts .... I have a epson rr-600W... it transfers it to quickbooks but I cant find it in quickbooks. I tried what your video says but the only problem is i am using 2018 and it does not show up as transactions or receipts on the side bar like yours. only top dropdown is banking which none of these options are available... HELP!!!! lol
You are using QB online or Desktop?
I believe it is because the email you are sending from isn't a registered email associated with one of the QBO users. I am having same problem.
when i upload picture in reciept after this is not showing other optios to send in expense just giving option to sava and next

Why would one scanned file take so long to download?
Is not a download time.. has to do with i long it takes to read and recognize it
