Do users (employees) have access to any information on QB or is it just for them to submit receipts? I don’t want them to have access to info on QB.

Hey guys, is there a way to "scan" a receipt directly into the program? I see I can drag and drop a file from my computer or google drive, but I'm looking for a program that can scan the files directly into the digital archive, thank you
Good afternoon, Jae! I'd be a pleasure answering this question for you. You can indeed scan a receipt in the QBO app by simply taking a picture of it with your smartphone. You can program your scanner to email to the inbox?
There are a two QuickBooks apps in the app store (that I could find). QuickBooks Accounting and QuickBooks Self-Employed. Does this work for both. Or which one would you download?

You sure can! To create your own expense accounts/categories in QuickBooks Online, you can go to your Accounting tab > Chart of Accounts > Create New!

can I assign all receipts to one expense category, and then total all of those receipts and export into an excel doc?
Hey there, DeniseRosser. When it comes to receipts, you need to match or add them and put them where they need to go for your reports. You should be able to then export any report within QuickBooks Online. We use a lot of different cards when paying for things, does that mean we need to link all these cards to QB in order to categorize these receipts correctly?

Hey there, Mary. The app is still available for Android and Apple users. The app is called QuickBooks Accounting.
Hi I hv receipt which is more than 12 inch long, now how to scan whole receipt -pls advice
QuickBooks Online uses the scanned data from capture receipts to match with the expenses in QuickBooks Online. This means, that the information should be visible and should fit the screen the moment you take a photo of them.
For super long receipts, you can capture portions of it then combine it in a single file before uploading it manually. Another workaround if you want to use the capture option is cutting and arranging them to fit the frame.
Once done, you can review and update any missing or incorrectly mapped fields directly in the For Review section. Here's how:
1. On your Dashboard, proceed to the Banking menu.
2. Select the Receipts tab and locate the receipts to delete.
3. Click the drop-down arrow then pick Review.
4. Choose Edit receipt details then manually correct the information.
5. Hit Save and close when done.
Can i add foreign receipts? And then fixing the the currency when editing?
To add receipts with different currencies in QuickBooks, you must have Multi-Currency turned on for it to register that currency amount. Please keep in mind that once Multi-currency is turned on, it cannot be turned off in your company file.
How do you use this for items, not just account categories? This feature doesn't do me any good if I can't record the item detail when I record the receipt. Many of my clients are project costing using items - construction for example.

So, if I sent 100 email receipts throughout the year, at the end of the year I have to REVIEW 100 receipts and create an expense for EACH??
Hi, Gregory. While this would be the case, you can also review your receipts monthly or quarterly to lessen the workload at year-end. Oftentimes, you'll find that these receipts may just need to be matched to an existing expense rather than a new one be created. I have a stack of receipts, can I take multiple pictures so I don’t have to go back and manually take pictures of each receipt?
Hey there, Sully. If you have an android, you may be able to capture multiple pictures on the take a photo screen for your receipts. If that option doesn't appear, each receipt will need to be manually captured and uploaded.
Which app is the employee suppose to download?

How do i link the receipt to a particular invoice?
Once you add your receipt you'll have the option to add a new expense for it or match it to an existing transaction. Select the receipt to view the transactions that match and then select the transaction that you want it to match to. Hope this helps. -Kristina

Hi there. If you don't see this option, I suggest a few troubleshooting steps.
Reset the app's data (QuickBooks Settings > Refresh Data) - Android only
Clear the app's cache (Phone Settings > Apps > QuickBooks > Storage > Clear Cache) - Android only

Last year it worked, this year it's just stuck on loading.

@@quickbooks I figured it out. Either the app was recently updated or I needed to do more than just uninstall and reinstall. It works after updating via Play Store.
