- Receipt Capture in QuickBooks Online! Here's how you can scan & classify receipts with your smartphone. This video was highly requested, as receipt management is often a struggle for bookkeepers. A giant box of disorganized receipts should be a thing of the past. In QuickBooks Online, you can use the smartphone app to scan receipts; or you can create a special email address in QBO where employees can email receipts. Then I talk about how to classify and match each receipt to a transaction in the bank feeds area of QuickBooks. This is a great solution for bookkeepers who need to streamline and get organized.

Does this email account on quickbooks work for the desktop version also?
I am using QBO and my tabs don't read the same as yours and I have ZERO experience. I had to create a Bookmark in my tools list for receipts and expenses. Then I captured a picture of the receipt and I having to create a expense manually. I have about a hundred receipts to deal with. Very time consuming. I think I'm doing it wrong. Please help. I need to understand the difference between the account/categories and the Bank/Credit account and why I can't choose the same thing for both. :(

Hello, I used the app to take pics of the invoices but the invoices are not showing on the online app. How can I solve this issue?
How can I deal with really long receipts if I want to just take pictures of the receipts?
Can you write memos for the receipts as you are uploading them to QBO via your phone? sometimes there will need to be small notes along each receipt, and I can't seem to find a way to include those notes when I upload the receipt to qbo
I always write notes on the receipt it's self before I photo it
Do you know if QBO will recognize receipts emailed from Paypal or Venmo? And if they can be forwarded to the email address set up for the client in QBO receipt capture?
Good question, I haven't tried this, but it seems logical that it would work. Did you try it?
I’ve always been curious to know what happens if they don’t have a receipt and if they can still get reimbursed. Could you share that missing receipt form?

What if teachers (or others) use their personal funds for the purchase? Obviously those transactions will not be in the bank feed, so how should that be handled?
In that case I would write a reimbursement check to them (there's a form they fill out for reimbursement). I used to do exclusively reimbursements, but had them switch to mostly debit card transactions (I find it an easier workflow).
Can a client add it via the "snap receipt" and not link it to an expense? I can go in there and link it to the expense after I categorize their bank feed. I just don't want the client matching anything to expense, sounds like they may mess something up :)
I think they would email it to quick books and you categorize and or edit?
How would you handle receipts that might be split into multiple categories? It looked like it only gave one option but some of my clients will have a receipt where they purchased office supplies, refreshments, etc.

Did Part 2 ever get made? I'd like to know how you deal with receipts in multiple currencies. EG, I have a business CC in USD, but I'm buying office supplies and services in USD and at least one other currency.

You can change the speed in which the video is played, it’s actually really cool just select the 3 dots in the top right & change your playback speed!
