He's not wrong... Emilio to this day is the best Billy The Kid I've seen. In fact, for an 80's movie, the entire casting was on point.

One of the best parts about his portrayal in my opinion is his laugh. It is so contagious.

Absolutely love young guns 1 and 2. Some of my favorites. Emilio is the best Billy the kid I've ever seen so much so that when I see him in another film I'm like "that's Billy"

For those eagerly awaiting the third instalment of the YG franchise, do yourself a favor and check out a fantastic little action western from 2021 called 'Old Henry', directed by Potsy Ponciroli and starring Tim Blake Nelson. A Young Guns fan should love it!

Yo lol, talk about strange for me personally. I grew up with those movies and interestingly enough me an some old friends in our military days would watch em on repeat. Time took us in separate directions. In my personal life, lots of things don't wanna talk about as these days alone. Just yesterday was listening to the ost to the 2nd movie. Saw this today by chance. Holy smokes! This story gotta be Hella interesting for 3. I mean from what I read Lou n Christian are supposedly comin back. Both movies where great but curiosity in the "when" of the story. And as Emilio explained about Kiefer, damn that would have been hella epic had he not been killed off but also curious about Lou's character Chavez, as he too passed on in the 2nd. Hell even Chritians did at the very end. Talk about dumb founded excitement! I know in terms of audience, there would be about 7 to 8 of us vets waiting to hear Emilio laugh when he smokes a bad guy. Priceless. Absolutely priceless.

Hope they shoot YG3 on FILM stock. I know that's not popular nowadays, but it would be first best choice to give it some consistency with the first 2 movies.

The first one was great. I love those films. And great soundtracks. If they come out with a new one I think Christ Stapleton should be on the soundtrack. You listen to his song White horse and you will know why I think he’s a good choice.

Even though young guns 2 failed, I still love it At least Kiefer, Sutherland. What's still in the Second movie, if he wasn't in it, then it wouldn't have been as good I know him dying off. People didn't like, but at least he came back for it.
Big audience
The Young Guns films were fairly accurate historically. Except they killed off the Doc and Chavez characters when in real life both of those guys did not die in gun battles and lived to an old age. I know Kiefer insisted on it as Emilio mentioned. Maybe they can still bring back Chavez since we assumed he died but they didn't actually show him die onscreen. Maybe they could say he lived somehow. I heard Lou Diamond Phillips might play a different role completely though.
It would have given them much more to work with if there is a Young Guns 3 to at least have one other major character alive. I will still watch it regardless.
Doc could still be written in. They could simply say he survived haha
Young Guns is literally my favourite movie and I dearly hope Guns 3 never comes to pass. Apologies to Fusco, Estevez and anyone else trying to make this happen. I just revere the original too much.

The life of a regulator is always intense.
They should make a original western about a Billy the Kid type character putting his old gang back together. Then they don't have to worry about legal rights issues. Also then they can bring back all the actors from Young Guns I and II.
I hope the best, but often when they try to make a sequel after many years they tend not to be good.

Emilio estevez was great as Billy the kid i saw a movie with Val kilmer as Billy the kid, well wasn't as good Val was the best doc holiday but not Billy the kid that was meant for Emilio,yes Young guns 2 was good but it wasn't accurate,yes Kiefer Sutherland character goes down in gunfire but it wasn't true doc lived to be 90 and so did Lou diamond Phillips character chevez , would love a young guns 3 and i hope it's told more accurately
Oh MAN, I’d love to see Young Guns 3! I’m only afraid that the actors are no longer at the caliber today, that they were then. I’d want to see Emilio, of course. But really, the best choices would be Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, and as much as I hate Clooney for his stupid political crap, he’d be great for it. That’s why these actors who think they are more, should shut up. Acting is just pretend for adults.
Let it be, the two movies are great as they are a third movie would likely be more like the later Indiana Jones sequels just pitiful overblown ugliness - unless, if they can get close to the classic look and avoid modern Hollywood post-production trappings. Kiefer actually got close with his own western Forsaken (2015) but the risk it just too big these days the way technology has taken over...
What you talking about, indy 4 was the biggest 1... Both of them was great, look for style and you can see Spielberg never lost that 80s feel... sick of negative people like yourself blowing great things up.
