Nice video! Plattjen is the most fun piste in Saas Fee when the conditions are right, usually they aren't haha. The lowest part can be very tricky when it's icy. But you can avoid it by taking the forest path. Some minor pistes haven't been open there since corona, including an insane yellow run through the forest, it was merging with the forest path just before the big turn.
Now I know what Saas-Fee looks like, and it is also reported as good for beginners, and I see it has a big beginner area, so in 2026 I'll probably be going there for my first ever time in Switzerland. By then I should be good enough for the milder blue's.
There is a beginner area at the base (which I've never skied) and one higher up the mountain but you will have to get familiar with the lifts as you wouldn't be able to ski down without going through blacks and reds. I would recommend going later in the season (Feb/March) as the mountain peak blocks the sun in Dec/Jan so you'll be skiing in the shadow. Also, if you go in 2026 then the best option for ski pass is to purchase the magic pass in April 2025 when it costs only CHF399 and you'll get access to 80 other resorts for the whole season.
@@ChasingSnow Thanks for the heads up regarding times and the lift pass. 399 Swiss francs is £358. Crystal Ski does a similar bit more expensive extra for Saas-Fee. "Area lift pass - Destination Pass Explore the full Saas-Fee area with an area lift pass. You'll get access to slopes in Saas-Fee, Saas-Almagell, Saas-Balen and Saas-Grund. The price includes a non-refundable CHF 5 lift pass deposit. £373 (6 days)"
@@Puzzoozoo The magic pass is a season pass, so you have access to 80+ resorts for the whole season, unlimited... The Valais and Vaud cantons have some great resorts (on the magic pass,) including Saas-Fee, Glacier 3000, Villars, Zinal & Grimentz, St-Luc & Chandolin and many more. If you wanted to explore Switzerland, then this is a good offer to save on lift passes... You just have to organise transportation and accommodation... Or go in a camper like me :-)
Love Saas-Fee. Not very big, but the snow is incredible.
I think it's great late season as it's very high and mostly north facing...

I have never done that forest yellow but would like to do it... I've never noticed it open but will have to come midseason one time to do it...
Fun runs. Adding this one to my collection. Think snow!
My last day of skiing last season but not too long before this coming season starts :-)
