Exactly, in that case, most beginners take the lift back... but in some cases, not even that is possible. That's why I would suggest staying to beginner friendly resorts at the beginning... you wouldn't take advantage of what the larger resorts offer but you would still pay for it...

@@maximilianblank this channel really isn't about my skiing, as you can't even see me... it's more about the resorts... I don't ski in straight line, I do go from side to side but the image stabilisation takes some of it out... however, I prefer that so the video shows a smoother run...

Definitely... in my opinion, this place is better suited for that level...many more easy to access beginner and intermediate slopes...

Yeah, conditions were not the best towards the end of day... you'll see that in the next video for this resort...

It's not on the winter map but there were marker poles, which I assume were for hiking purposes, so maybe on the summer map...

@ChasingSnow lots more ready to find ones as well... Like, go up to aguile Pearce, then continue hiking up the road/track in front of you when you get off the chair.... Ski down the opposite side after scrambling the top.... You are now in a massive offpiste terrain which naturally brings you back towards a piste after approx 30mins

Do you mean double M? I suppose it depends on the snow conditions, if it's icy, it will be more difficult as from memory, it can get quite steep, but it's also quite wide making it more manageable...

See what's open as I don't think the whole area will be accessible by then... I'm also planning a few trips this season, hoping to capture all of Zermatt and Cervinia...however, I'm not that familiar with the resort to offer advice...

The theme this season, I think, will be the big ones... the channel gets a lot more interest with the more popular resorts... I'll also do some in Italy but not sure exactly which ones... I'm going with the flow... :-)

The morning was good but by this time, the snow was getting pretty soft and slow... there are some resorts open in Europe but it's all very limited, not much skiing area and mostly on the glaciers...

@@ChasingSnow Right, FWIW, CF is getting really busy as the season comes closer. Got a 1 to 1 on Friday for getting some confidence going to the top, as I've fallen twice before when it was busy, and don't want to risk getting hurt 8 weeks before I'm away. In addition to checking any bad habits I may be getting. On the plus side my parallel and edging on the bottom section are improving, and I'm starting to use the poles to pivot.

Happy it's all working out and I can see you are much better prepared than last season... I think you'll find the longer runs on resorts really helpful for practising... when and where is your first trip?

@@ChasingSnow Jan 11th, Passo Tonale, Crystal has deemed it is really good for beginners, but my 1 to 1 will have to be next Friday as the car failed its MOT, and it'll be tomorrow before everything is fixed. Still got my usual 1 hour practice on Tuesday morning, might risk a single run from the top.

Good choice going to resorts for beginners... I think there are some amazing ski areas but they're not much use if 95% is not suitable...

Yes, this section can have large queues during busy periods for those crossing back to Verbier... probably time for an upgrade...

@ Yes, there are plans to build a new chairlift in this area to meet demand on busy days. I find that in the 4 vallées the links between the resorts are really not top-notch... They could clearly invest in new lifts.

@@YoHaNn_07 Yes, the section in this video would definitely help with some upgrades but that's probably up to Veysonnaz, which I assume doesn't make anywhere near Verbier... so let's hope this happens sooner rather than later...

I visited Zermatt last year and I can say it was beautiful. But it all depends on the weather too, we were lucky enough to have a couple of nice days and also experienced extremely strong winds. I hope I will be able to visit it again this season.

Hi Barry, good to hear from you. I was wondering why you've been so quiet and hoping your health is keeping well... so happy things are going in the right direction... but sounded like you went through some ordeal... having to relearn swallowing and walking... hoping the skiing goes much better, as long as you can stand on them, let gravity do most of the work :-) I did spend some time working on short videos during the summer... so I think I managed to get another 1000 subscribers during a period that's normally quiet... people seem to like pond skimming :-)

Lots of aspects: bumpy, very often icy, difficult reds and blues down, all time ive been in the 3 valleys. I prefaire orelles, menuires, courchevel. But no nof these can reach the tignes slopes.

Hi, yes, the telemetry guages use GPS data only... the app is virb edit... and sorry, but I can't help with the other question...

The Mont-Gelé to La Chaux route gets more sun, so conditions are varied, it can be quite icy in the mornings and soft in the afternoon...

@@ChasingSnow Maybe not all day then!! Ski frozen moguls isn't the best experience especially if they are coral reef instead of smooth!!

@@andrewskakun7041 yeah, the first time I did it was late afternoon and quite soft so I tried again the next morning... it was frozen and not very enjoyable... the north face of Verbier is much better 🙂

Yeah, the higher part was good but mashed potatoes on the lower sections... Are you still in Australia?

If you go to the top, as you can see, it's red and black only... but getting off at the first station, I think you can do that one more easily...

I'll probably start off in Switzerland, Saas-Fee, which has already opened, but I'm waiting for other resorts to open so I have more options... like Verbier and Glacier 3000. I'll then head into France for some early season skiing...

Considering the snow was soft and slower at that time of day, I was suprised I hit that speed but conditions were right, so I let gravity do the work :-)
