I've been using Blue Cross for more than 13 years. Your video is the very first one that shows the same method that I use and I am not a trained tech. I've just been doing my nails for several decades, my grandmother was a cosmetology instructor so I have learned the best method through her knowledge and my own experience. When I discovered your channel I was so very thankful that what you teach is gentle care. I see so many nail techs being so rough with prep and don't seem to care much or achieve the results the prep is supposed to achieve, even world champions and reknowned techs. I tell every person I come into contact with that has questions to come to your channel and binge watch everything.

How long does a bottle last because mine doesn't have that jar symbol on it?
I poured some in a little tiny bottle and I don't think it will finish in a year, yet I have the main blue cross bottle and it looks like I have 10+ years worth in it😅

I discovered Blue Cross only a couple years ago. It is the best! I use it just as you described and also love the tweezerman cuticle pusher.
Also, after seeing your video where you recommended against soaking nails, and also to use base and top coats of the same brand as the polish, my manicures last much longer. I am not a nail tech but have been doing my own nails since I was a teenager. Every magazine article advised to soak the nails to soften cuticles, and the times I have gotten professional manicures they all do the same. Thank you for showing us a better way!

I have been using BC for about 10 years but I’ve destroyed my nails being too rough and aggressive with everything and I should have let them heal better after chemo. Thank you so much for the video. I’ve grown long natural nails for 34 years and just used whatever store brand was available. Within the last year started doing enhancements on myself because from smoking my pointer and middle finger would split from filing off the staining. I realize quitting would be better all the way around but it is an awfully hard and bad habit to break.

I’m so excited I found your channel. My nails have started to become damaged in the last few months. I used this method to remove my cuticles and was mind blown by the amount removed. I’ve definitely been doing it wrong. I did my first warm oil treatment today and I’m going bare nails for the first time in a year. I’ll definitely still be painting my nails but I will give my nails a break once a week so I can do the hot oil treatment.

Thanks so much for this. I think consistency, like you mentioned, is my biggest weakness in regards to getting my nails and cuticle area into shape. Will give this a try! LOVING the Dazzle Dry polish system, learned about it from you -- would never go back to anything else. Used to be able to have polished nails for 24 or maybe 48 hours without chips, not I can go a week without any chipping with DD. :)

Yes, it has been part of my weekly care routine since I started watching your channel. And yes, indeed I really like how well it works. It is a very important step because it cleans the cuticle off the nail bed so nicely. My nails are growing out smoothly evenly. I think blue cross is a great product.

  • @trishr.3986

I really like the Blue Cross cuticle remover. It works so well with so little effort. Before I bought it, I had read a comment review that said do not leave it on the nail, rinse thoroughly (much like you stated). Two of my toenails have some damage separation (due to an accident) and I squirt some of this underneath, then clean there. It helps relieve build up in those places. My nails stay healthy looking using this product on a regular basis. I cringe at seeing people trim their cuticles and don't do that myself. I think your method keeps the nails and cuticles nice looking. Thank you so much for the explanation of how and why to do cuticle care this way!

Your videos contain much needed information. I now do my own nails with confidence because all that I’ve learned from you. I had dip and gels for 25 years, and went cold turkey in Feb. It’s taken time for my healthier nails to grow out, and I knew I had to be patient. At first I was fighting terrible hang nails but I’m past that, the nail fold has softened, and the cuticles are under control. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on your channel.

I found your video shortly before i bought it, so I've been able to add it to my routine without any problems.
I put mine in a new empty nail polish bottle and brush the remover onto my cuticles from the first application on the first nail i set a timer for 5 minutes. I apply over and over again as needed on all the nails, and then rinse off , then i use the cuticle pusher tool to gently scrape it off and it's so satisfying.
Removers I've used before were not very good at all. This is perfect.

I have used Blue Cross for a few years. I live in England and it is quite expensive but really worth it. I heard about it watching videos by The Meticulous Manicurist on TH-cam. I have just discovered your videos and I am binge watching. So many great tips: I have put little bottles of almond oil next to the soap and hand cream beside every sink in the house to use each time I wash my hands. I have also put my Blue Cross in a clean, empty nail polish bottle for easy application. The bottle was full of nail hardener which I poured out into the garbage: I was using it as a basic treatment. What a mistake! Thank you so much for your incredible videos: informative but also really soothing and entertaining to watch.

I love this video. I've learned a lot about how to care for my nails. I've been doing my manicures WRONG all this time! I've watched so many videos about how to treat cuticles, and all of them snip the "living skin" off. I've tried that so many ways, and every time it hurts and I'm always left with at least one finger bleeding. And a few days after I've cut off the "cuticle" (now i know as living skin) I get these tiny hang nails from where I cut off the hood. For years I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.... but I kept doing what everybody was doing. NOW I KNOW BETTER!!!!! I've been educated by your video... not just told what to do. I just finished giving myself a manicure (the wrong way and left with 2 bloody fingers this time) and I used Blue Cross cuticle remover for the first time. I wasn't impressed. So I did a TH-cam search on how to use it and I found your video. I now know why I wasn't impressed.... I wasn't using it correctly. OOPS! To use up... after watching your video I'm looking forward to my manicure next week... doing it the right way and using Blue Cross correctly. Thanx!😊

QUESTION: For a year or more, I’ve had a vertical crack in my nail (comes from the nail bed and moves upward, instead of tears that go from side to side). It’s the worst kind of snag and I can’t file it away since it’s vertical. Nothing seems to help. Any ideas or thoughts? Anyone else?

I am so glad I found you on TH-cam! I am 75, and my nails have always been thin, peeling and break easily. As I have gotten older my nails split horizontally. To keep the split nails from hanging and tearing I use a gel polish on them. I just found your video about soaking in warm oil and will start to do this. I so hope the soaking will stop the splits. Do I need to soak more often than once a week at first. Am I wrong to keep gels on my nails? Does it do more harm then good? Thank you!

The reason your nails could be weak is from the acrylics--I stopped using dip, acrylic, gel---took all of Anna's advice and my nails are in such great shape I cant believe they are mine! I use Dazzle Dry exclusively and not only does the polish last for weeks but my nails NEVER break, split, peel or get stained.

I use Blue Cross, but I guess I haven't been doing it right. Normally, I put on the product, let it sit, and then use a cuticle pusher. Then I wash my hands.
Honestly, my cuticles never get removed that good. I will try to do it the way you do. Thanks for the video!

Great information! I am an older woman and all of my nails have lots of ridges . I follow your wonderful nail care instructions. My question is, I have difficulty scraping the cuticle from my nails after using Bluecross. I'm gentle but the tool doesn't glide over my ridges like your nice smooth nails. Any tips? How about a video on really ridgy nails even worse than Mr. Salon's! 😁

So satisfying to watch. I also bought Blue Cross Cuticle Remover thanks to your recommendation and am so happy. I wish I´d known about it years ago. People were always amazed how long and strong my nails were and assumed they were false when I was younger, but now they aren´t the same anymore and I suppose that has to do with age? Anyway, I hope to have them the same again as before.
Is buffing the nails to make them shine bad?

    • @Mir_Nohti
      @Mir_Nohti ปีที่แล้ว +2

Anna has discussed this in past videos. Buffing will remove layers of nail plate and weakens it, so it is not recommended.

Hi Anna thank you so much for the clear instructions! I am so interested in everything about nails as I have been biting them since I was a toddler! Sometimes I manage not to, and I am so glad to be in this no-biting-phase now. It helps to care about manicure as it increases the motivation! I wonder where to get the small buffers you are using? All the rest I already have, and with your videos I really get encouraged to keep on caring! It is so humiliating to have bitten nails and I wish I could leave it behind me! Thank you again, I wish you all the success you deserve!! With warm greetings Franca

Very interesting! I typically use Deborah Lippmann as it doesn't contain animal products. I have learned that 100% never leave any cuticle remover on too long- just as Anna says- it can damage the skin around the nail. Anna and MSL do you have any plans to create videos swatching the new Dazzle Dry collections? Fall and winter. I so look forward to your swatch videos!

As soon as get the new colors I will definitely swatch them. I can't wait!

This video was great! Thank you so much. I was wondering: how do you know if you are removing cuticle or the top layer of your nails? How far out will the cuticle go if you've never done this? When I was scraping my cuticle off it seemed like it went half way down my nail, but I've never done this before so I'm not sure if that could be possible?

Thank you for your videos, and I have a question: I've been following along with this video for quite some time now, and the dead cuticle comes off with the Tweezer Man pusher, just like you use. However, it always leaves the living skin in a mess, with a lot of little pieces sticking up, but when I try to snip them off it usually leaves a bigger mess than I started with, and my nails never look nice and smooth around the outside - they look very raggedy all the time. I don't like to try and cut more because it will look worse and I'm afraid I'll get an infection. My cuticle clippers are a very good brand but need sharpening very badly, but I've never found a place that does that. I just did a manicure now, following along as usual, and my nails do not look good at all - the dead cuticle comes off really easily, but again, the skin around looks awful, and I don't know what I can do about this. One nail especially always has a very thick nail fold which usually has a big catch in it, but I don''t want to hack away at it with those dull cuticle clippers. Any suggestions? The actual nails feel smooth but the outside are not at all, and I've been doing everything exactly as you show in this video, bit it doesn't ever look better. Thank you in advance.
