I haven't seen a review of this pen before, and it's particularly helpful that you describe the comparison between it and the other similar-sized Sailor pens. Thank you for your reviews!
Thank you for this review! It was very insightful as I was thinking about buying this gorgeous pen. The pen would be my first Sailor pen! I've tried writing with them in store but found a really good deal online. Your video shows the color and texture of the pen very well. :) I also appreciate the comparison to the other Sailor pens because those will be eventual purchases haha. Pointing out that this has a different size converter is a great tip! I almost ordered the wrong size.
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help. Being able to test a pen in a store is so nice. I don't live near any pen stores, but I have been fortunate enough to visit Vanness Pens and Appelboom each a couple times and I get to attend my first pen show next month. 😀
I got one (White color, Medium nib) a month ago to add to my ‘pocket pen’ collection.. Not yet inked it since I got 6 other pocket pens in a pocket pen buying spree (including vintage Platinum & Sailor Pocket pens).. Planning to ink it after the others get inked - saving the best for last !
Nice! Platinum and Sailor make my favorite medium nibs. I've had good results with my recent return to pocket pens, now that I know what I like. Good luck with your Slim Mini. 😀
1. I'm quite happy with my 3 PGS Minis. They were stepping stones on my journey to my ideal pen, the Pro Gear. 2. I believe the precise name for the old threaded version is Pro Gear Mini, without the Slim. I prefer threaded posting, but nowadays this pen has become unobtainium. 3. I hadn't known that Sailor nibs were swappable. Do you swap the whole section, a screw-in nib unit, or just the nib itself?
I had considered getting a demonstrator Pro Gear, but I think I've found my ideal size in the Slim Mini. The nibs and feeds of my Pro Gear Slim and 1911 Standard are friction fit into the section. I haven't tried to pull the nib and feed of the Mini, but I'm guessing it's friction fit like the other two since it has the same type of section. Rarely do I pull the nib and feed of my gold nib pens, but it's nice to have the option. The grip sections are also interchangeable with these models.
Oh Dave, that's a tough question! I lean toward the Slim Mini, but that's probably because it's still new. They are both beautiful pens and a joy to write with. The slip cap of the E95s is pretty convenient, so I would probably go with it. I'm glad I don't actually have to make that decision. 😀
I just received my first Sailor PGS Mini. I find that the clip has a lot of play in it. Wondering if I should return it. Have you noticed a looseness in the clip? I do love the MF nip. I think I found my pen sweet spot! Enjoy all of your videos. 🤎🤎
@@gadgetstop321 It is the clip on the cap that has is loose. I bought from Yoseka, so I will return it for a replacement. I do love this pen. Thank you so much. 😎
I think the Morocco Night Blue is my favorite of the Minis. It looks like a more sparkly but smaller version of my beloved PGS Vega.
I think the Blue Dwarf was the first Sailor pen to really catch my eye. I have a soft spot for Sparkly Blue Sailor pens. 🤩💙

You're welcome, Wendy! 😀
I have this pen in the morocco zyne pink and I do like to journal with it
That is such a pretty shade of pink 🩷
How fun, I have always been curious about the sailor pro gear slim
I can see how people get addicted to collecting them. I'm going to try not to. 😀
Cathy, that is such a very good looking Sailor pen! If you got the pen for a great deal, then you won!
I agree, this little pen is definitely a winner. 😀

@@gadgetstop321 wow that’s awesome! I hope you have a great time at your first pen show 🎉 it’ll be so exciting to see everything in person
Thanks for the video! What is feedback mean with regards to fountain pens?
@@amberh2416 You're welcome, Amber! Feedback is the amount of friction between the nib and the paper.

@@gadgetstop321 Lucky you to prefer the Slim, saving $100+ per pen AND getting the extravagant, wild, color selection.
Sweet! Now the real question; if you had to/could only choose one "pocket" pen, would it be this one or the Pilot E95s? 🤔

@@gadgetstop321 lol ... Amen!
I have this same pen and the body of mine has that same inconsistency in the material. Doesn’t bother me, either. I just think it’ special.
You're right! The look and feel of this pen makes the overall writing experience very special. 😀

Thanks, Sharon! None of my Sailor pens have any looseness in the nib, even my less expensive Lecoule.

Sorry, I meant the clip. 🤦
