Its somewhat of a running joke, that especially brits say moo thai, because oftentimes, even the announcers at muay thai events do the same, and people just like to complain.
So dont worry, and you did it well already, just laugh about it ^^

@@orangefield2308 yeah, you can absolutely use muay thai gloves on the heavybag. Main difference between thai and Western boxing gloves is that the thai gloves are more flexible to allow for more clinching and catching kicks etc. If you have the budget, I'd reccomend seperate gloves for the bag and sparring, as bagwork tends to wear your gloves out faster but a good 16oz glove can be used for both. Personally, I like to use 12oz for bag and padwork and 16oz for sparring

id love for you to try some Fairtex gloves, i use the BGV1 for bag work (big gloves 16oz) and my cousin i train/spar with uses the mexican style fairtex boxing glove in blue/yellow that is an absolutely stunning glove and great value for money. My fairtex has outlasted my Cleto Reyes sparring gloves that ive also recently sent back to the supplier.

champ 95 I’m new to the sport of MT, been only training since end of April and I’m currently using Yokkao gloves for bag work and sparring. At first, I was in love with my Yokkao gloves because of how snug and how much padding they had; however, I’m slowly realizing how there might be too much padding in the knuckle area. The more sparring I do, the more I realize I have a difficult time gauging the effectiveness/impact of my punches because of the padding + hand wraps. Any glove recommendations? I’m 5’10, 182lbs.
