  • Hello there,
I am SO excited to share this with you all!
Richard found an AMAZING antique, and the best part is that after over 100 years...it STILL works!
Even better than THAT...we get to share it with you all...AND we still got to do a tour and find some other vintage!
We do hope you enjoy today's video!
    ❤️
    MT & Richard

I’m so happy to see that Richard rescued this. We are losing our history of this country and it’s nice to see someone caring about the past. 😊

Thank you, Michael, for calling out less-than-thoughtful shoppers. I am the vendor, at around the 8-minute mark, whose booth had the toys strewn on the floor. I love vintage toys, and I do like children, but I don't appreciate the adults who allow their kids to treat my booth as their personal playpen. Grrr. Thanks for the comment and for the visit!

Wonderful finds today. I love watching Richards reaction when you sign off rusty, crusty and dusty. 😂 always makes me wonder what he is thinking. (I know I always think, “ I do. I AM rusty, crusty and dusty!” And Michael, that man looks at you with adoration written ALL over his face. Makes my heart smile. You are blessed.

I used to sell vintage toys in my antique store booth . I would come in and find my toys all over the floor . As I was putting them back on the shelf I went off and yelled, " What do they think these are toys ? Several dealers chimed in saying " Yeah they are ". I learned to arrange them higher on the shelves !

About 40 years ago when I was in the antique business, the word vintage was mainly associated with old clothes. Any other things were antique if over 50 years old or not antique if less. Didn't have a word for them other than possibly just collectible. Now I find out I'm mid-century.

With your love of old books and illustrations, you need to research Raphael Tuck / Father Tuck books, postcards and their other ephemera. You will have a new obsession! Every bit as good, or better, as McLaughlin, Lothrop and others of the same time period.

I’d have snatched that projector up in a heartbeat!! But now I think Michael should start a second YT channel where he provides commentaries for old movies. Can you just hear his running commentary for “Mildred Pierce?” “ Those shoulders, Joan. I mean, I’m not mad at them, but you’re gonna put his eye out. Still not mad at it. I’m just sayin’.” 😉😉😂

Those western shirts reminded me of the shirts Temple Grandin wore in old pics and in the movie. Many of the displays are really nice, but everything seemed really expensive.
Imagine how wondrous that was for folks way back then. Adults and kids! It really must have seemed like magic! With no access to art, and travel being incredibly difficult seeing pictures from all over the world …. Amazing for them. It was super high tech! Thanks for sharing the slides! So fun.

There are antique malls that offer the vintage and antique rather than vintage inspired at better prices. Walking through a maze of new stuff to find a few gems is a waste of my time. I’d rather spend time in true antique/vintage stores that will give me history lessons along the way. Even if I can’t afford it, I will come away enriched.
