(at 9:05) (HZW)18-18(Grubba), (at 10:34) HZW led 20-19, (at 10:55) Grubba lobbing the counter loop backhand, looks nice, but did not hit table, the Brubba did the funny Floor exercise !!! Table tennis at 21 pts, I think back then Audience enjoyed more of this sports.
Great TT history! Grubba backhand topspin swing was always enormous. He had the most consistent backhand for a while. He was also a great lobber. He Zhiwen's serve seemed not as good as later on, or perhaps Grubba was an excellent returner of serve/
That serve is awesome. And, I believe only uses one side of the blade.. he relies on quick punches and direction. A classic player superb to watch. I know he troubled good players to the end of his retirement. Legend.
Yeah(at 16:00) look at the innocent smile from He Zhiwen, so cute. Grubba was playing with He (Grubba know he was losing), lobbing the ball back to check HZW's smashing capability( commentator saying: 扣殺)
Well his services were just as good if not better with the 38mm ball... It's just that his opponent here was a high level player that didn't look very bad receiving those services.
wow...first time i see the younger HZW....but i think the older version of himself is a lot more aggressive than his younger version. Old HZW would definitely eat his younger self....hehehe!
@@asiandrum That narration is just waste time to listen. Not up to the point and only described the strokes which had been seen by audience already. Almost any TT players can understand that by watching the players playing.

Not retired. He still plays in French League 2.
Yeah, He Zhi Wen age 59, is retired. But still plays Pro-B level league and enjoying many successes.
那個年代的拍懾視角?
He was such a very handsome boy but he plays a lot nastier now as he gets old..

Grande Juanito
The other guy's serves are so crazy illegal, maybe at that time, tossing the ball 6 inches before serving is not required.
1984, no requirement, you can serve behind the back , LOL
Lol

OMG!!
Narration in this clip is simple and naive. Voice is so annoying
Considering this is so long ago, for host country, the commentator speaks in Cantonese.

He's been playing this boring style since kingdom come! Unbelievable.
