Nice build! I assume you are aware that if you put streamline covers on the struts your climb rate almost doubles. For a "first flight" you seem comfortable over LOTS of trees, miles from the runway. Be careful out there.
This is my third ultralight so I have lots of hours in a CGS Hawk and some in a J3 Kitten. Where I live, we have trees everywhere so that is just a fact of life.
Curious about your GoPro head strap and microphone setup. I fly a powered parachute and am trying to hook my comtronics headset up to my GoPro Hero 7 black so I can have audio for my videos. Please let me know if you have any pointers or ideas, thank you.
Nice work, I've been looking at the legal eagle and the affordaplane. Not sure whitch I want to build. Maybe neither since I think it might be nice for the wings to fold.
Building the LEXL right now. Have my ppl, and this thing is a proper airplane in every respect. The direct drive 4 stroke power is decisive in my opinion.
Nice flight, but how did the wind screen get broken? And that fuel discoloring the fabric is not good. First flight HUH. The wing covering looks used and not freshly painted, odd things for a first flight I think. Looks like some real fun to be had flying your ultralight. Thanks for posting.
Dear Jesus, keep my crazy son safe....please.
Yes Lord, keep her crazy son safe Lord!
Likely the safest ultralight out there, if it helps.
Congrats on your maiden. Your son seems to be doing great MOM. Great vid.
Love the sound of that engine
Great flying machine. The landing must have gone well as we have this video. Thanks for sharing your adventure
Congrats man, happy landings always
Nice bird and flight!

Very nice!
Compared to your previous planes, which is now number one?

Badlands has a nice option as well.
Engine sounds like it is run by "Flubber" when it first starts up. (Disney movie)
Exhaust pipe is too short
Is that a handle hanging down between the wings? Be sure there is adequate room so you don’t impale your noggin on it in the event of a sudden stop.

The windscreen came to me like this. Yes it was my first flight in this plane. The fabric is in great overall condition.
Gosh, I wonder if it possibly could be HIS first flight in the aircraft, and not the aircraft's maiden flight?
Huh??
Tell me more about your ignition setup please. Building right now. Trying to see what everyone else is doing.
No electric start. Hand propping. Hummel 1/2 VW.

Thank you, but not what I meant.
I meant ignition. Like how are you running the spark plugs type of ignition.
No visible distributor so must be a magnito off the back of engine.
@@jameshazen1679 perhaps. I also know folks who run total loss battery powered electronic ignition. I shy away from this myself.

Thats was what I thought too.
Thats how I ordered mind from scott case let. Full case with magneto.
Why does that fuel line wiggle so much?
Im pretty sure its rolling shutter effect but yeah its wild lol
Yeah I was ready for it to rattle apart
An illusion of the camera. It's not wobbling around like that IRL.
Wind noise much? Perhaps a different mic location, windsock, anything?
Turn ur volume down and enjoy the flight
Pretty much unwatchable in parts, due to head mounted camera !
Head mounted cams have their purpose. Good to see pilot actions and what they see and do. He has another that isn't.
