Thanks- I once had this LP and can't imagine why I got rid of it. Maybe disappointment with Mr Muti for leaving Philadelphia. I think he is a great conductor who made some bad career moves. I am hopeful for some great music making in Chicago. From what I have heard (on Utube) he is off to a great start.
Manuel de Falla is definitely one of the best classical composers in history!

Extraordinaria orquesta. Una interpretación ejemplar a nivel mundial, para quien desee darse cuenta de como suena este sombrero.
TRUE story! We had to manage to finish the whole thing in one week.... there we learned the real meaning of 'desperateness' :D

My favorite part comes at 2:25, the Miller's Wife's dance. Got to learn this on guitar.
I hated playing on the bridge for this piece! It still sounded good though!
Muti owns this suite!

Yes he is
So just curious. As a musician and a cellist, do you enjoy playing the late romantic Spaniards? Albeniez, Granados, de Falla? Gringo in CA. :)
Allegro ma non troppo
Is it the Suite no 1 or 2?
The only part I really like is the Oboe section.
