No matter how hard I try, those damn combos NEVER work on me. I unlocked the training ffrom Benny ( Bernard ) , I tried different weapon style, short sword w/o shield, long sword ,maces but to no avail. I simply can't do any combo whatsoever, the outcome are always the same, either the enemy is badly armed and dies from 1 or 2 random hits, can't even follow up sometimes and they die, or the opponent parry's and blocks every single attack I throw and uses riposte ,dodges or whatever. I am not using combat altering mods, I also have the combos unlocked and I tried to follow the patters of a few, and yes I used the right weapon, but nothing ever works... I keep seeing these awesome videos with PROPER fights but to me it's just very bad and always repetitive, always the same shit... I also found out a nasty trick to kill most if not all enemies, you simply move into them, perform a clinch and press attack button fast and you push them away, they are staggered a bit so I just follow up with a nasty hit to the helmet or head and they take alot of damage, especially if I use a Mace.

In KC:D, fighting 1-2 people involves a lot of legwork and a lot of short aggressive attack bursts into openings. That’s fairly realistic.

Again, I have to disagree. Anyway, it wasn't just ONE arrow, watch the video again and you'll see that I hit that guy at least THREE times in the face. Even if I don't kill kim or pierce his skull, his eyes and face would be completely destroyed.
Some people swoon over Elden Ring or some other game with swords twice the size of your character that's roll-dodging all over the place with spiky plate armour. I on the other hand, drop my jaw when I see the combat in this game. So realistic, so beautiful, all the blocking and parrying. No oversized weapons, no ridiculous rolling with plate armour, no horns or spikes. Perfection.
@@GlarusGaming And I have no doubt that ER is a good game, but whenever I see a game with oversized weapons or overly-agile heavy-armour-wearing characters, I get put off. KCD looks realistic, feels realistic and plays realistic. I just like to see blades clash, instead of rolling constantly like Sonic.
I wouldn't call it realistic, just plausible. If you used your sword to parry like they show in the video, it would be blunted to hell and back and practically useless, if not broken. Knights didn't fight like that. But at least it makes 'sense', unlike those other examples you mentioned
God I remember playing this game and finding out hours later how to do those parry attack moves which made my experience thousands of times better. I love this game
it helps alot obviously if you are really skilled at fighting then yeah its easy but if you have 3-4 enemies attacking your plate armour with a sword its going to less damage then a mace for example after progressing ive found Cumans are easy compared to brigands but my set up ive got Nuremberg armour with German bacinet, Heavy battle axe and shield and its quite easy plus i don't use a bow either
Funny fact. Warhorse Studio put some Czech swear words in the game. These words are spoken only when fighting. For example 1:21 - the Knight says ''Jebat'' and it means something like ''Fuck it''. You can also find words like ''Mrdat'' - also ''Fuck it'', ''Mrdka'' - which is a swear word for sperm but it is used to swear at people like ''Cunt'' for example.
Excellent video. This combat was very instructive, and gives the lie to the complaints that it's clunky. Perhaps it is in the beginning, but you've shown that, with the skills gained through time, it becomes precise. Thanks for uploading. EDIT: I finally have the game and I love it. Just trained with Bernard and learned Master Strike and Riposte. I absolutely love the combat. Except, however, when my opponents die and fold in half like a flour tortilla.
the developers even said that combat early in the game isnt meant for henry. seeing as henry doesnt know how to properly use a sword, why would he know how to just because youre controlling him. therefore, in the beginning, combat is difficult due to that reason, as you progress and henry starts training, he gets more proficient in combat and thus, swordfighting becomes easier.
They start your character off at such an uneducated point in the game, first timers won't realize they are straight up missing perks that unlock more advanced combat mechanics. Which I think is where the 'clunky' complaints come from. All of the systems in the game take a bit of learning (Watch a youtube video if you're really unsure) but once you see how things work, it gets a whole lot easier, Lockpicking being a huge example (atleast on PC). I was so pissed at this game up until Bronard started teaching Henry how to fight. Only problem is, once you get to the high end, sometimes bandits will kill themselves attacking you. I've blocked an attack, with no kind of counter, and had bandits just ragdoll instantly. Cumans too, lol.
*Gibblets* I thought I was the only 1 with that bug. I’ve missed parries and got the regular block and had dudes just fall down dead and it’s not even the normal ragdoll.. it’s like a Bloodborne ragdoll where the body is hella loose with no weight lol
I was doing my pilgrimage journey, barefoot, wearing only my penitents robe for the Madonna of Sasau quest, and this guy appeared right next to one of the Shrines. Of course I fought him, wearing only the robe and bearing my St. Georges sword, like a Jedi Knight. God willed it, and I prevailed easily with a couple of master-strikes.
For all people wandering:he dead? No. But it can happen. I was duelling the other knight (the coward) and just hit him once or twice over the shoulders. I thought the fight has just began... i tried stabing to his face. The idiot didnt block and had open face helmet... he collapsed in a brush and after a few seconds he was dead... so a duel with deadly weapons can be deadly, even if you there was no intention to kill. I didnt get the price and felt bad for killing the guy... but hey, thats part of it. Both agreed on using sharp bladed... just makes the game feel like the real deal even more:D
During my second play through of the game on hardcore, I found him and accepted the friendly duel but I completely forgot I still had some bane poison on my blade from a previous attack on a bandit camp and I accidentally killed him. I felt so bad about it I didn't even loot his corpse. I just picked up his dropped sword, added it back to his inventory then carried him off the road like I was hiding the body and my shame.
It won't be too long when the next patch rolls in and just on time, I'm getting a GPU upgrade from 780 Ti to 1070 Ti. Won't be long til I start playing this game
Well I’ve encountered a shit ton of bugs, from the floating one to complete audio and texture loss to not being able to interact with anyone. Saying there’s “quite a few” is a bit of an underestimation but most should be sorted with the next patch.
Tzeentch the bugs are really annoying, i have had cutscenes where the subtitle shows but not the video, cAn’t talk to characters, quest not updating itself, it’s really annoying when you have to restart because the game failS you
These are not comparable. It's built around PvP, KCD's combat system ist built for PvE. That's why are there are combos in KCD. In For Honor it would be very frustrating to know that the other player has a guaranteed hit.
1:20 Wow! I'm russian and I'm surprised, that czechs have exact the same slur as we have. In the middle of Europe people use foul language as in Moscow, Samara, Vladivostok. Cultural exchange.
HandyMan101 more attack angles doesnt make it better. This is a much better system with precision and realistic attack moves. Not wild unrealistic physics flailing with unauthentic attacks. Once again, more options does not make the old game better. Quality over quantity seems to have eluded you. Thats where your math has failed you. Youre probably one of those types who is good at thinking on paper, but would be held back by failures when it comes to practically applying things.
Mount & Blade have this system too, instead of 5(6) directions yout got 4 there, left, right, up, down in Mount and Blade the down attack is a pierce attack all other three are strikes. and Mount and Blade is far older than KCD but those two are way different games and not compare to each other.. M&B is more focused on commanding an own Army and lead them on the field.
When doing a run-through, when you knocked them to the ground, back up and give them space to charge at you, then repost and jam the sword to their chest.
I was so frustrated at this game in my first playthrough that i uninstalled it because I didnt know that timed quest was a thing in this game and it actually mattered how much time you spent doing a quest. It was very overwhelming for me. I didn't play a game like this before. I kept failing quests like house of God, The prey, etc. And i also didn't want to start a new game because I would lose my hours of gameplay. But after playing some other games, i suddenly started to get urges of riding horses, perform master strikes, play everything from the beginning in the right way. So i installed it again and i am telling you now that this game is my new favorite(except RDR2 of course. This game will always be on the top of my top 10 list. ) Edit: Also if any of the players can relate to me and still haven't reinstalled the game, it's my sincere request to them that they reinstall the game and start a new fresh playthrough. And that not all. There is also a tip that i would like to pass onto you. Whenever you are doing side quests, you have to make sure to never do multiple side quests at the same time because as I said before timed quests are a thing so you can fail some quests. It's not skyrim so dont bother picking up multiple side quests at the same time. It will only increase your frustration and thus you will lose your interest playing this game. Also make sure to check the bugs section of every mission that you are currently playing in the kcd wiki website. And also if you are using a trainer (Don't worry I will not judge you for using a trainer) or a mod to increase your reputation, stop using it now as it will be impossible to complete the main quest "Baptism of Fire".
It’d be cool if there was a “tackle” feature, like if you get knocked over and you’re losing the fight or your sword is knocked out of your hand you can tackle the enemy and stab them in a soft spot with your dagger or something along those lines.
Damn you owned that dude and for the second time apparently. I’m looking forward to getting to grips with this game soon. I hope I’m half as handy with a sword as you.
I mean, both are Czech companies so they likely hire American actors based in Prague. And there isn't *that* much of them. But yeah, it was hard to unhear Miller, James and Adams at first, now it's the other way around :D
Before I had perks that were over powered and before I could basically one hit anyone wearing plate, I once had a duel with the wayfaring night that lasted through the night and into the next morning before I defeated him. It was amazing. I loved the fights then, it felt scary to fight one strong person, never mind fighting multiple people at once. Now, with the perks and such, I can just walk into a camp and one hit anyone wearing anything as long as I hit them over the head with a mace.
Wow you must have done a lot of practice. Right now i am just putting everything on hold and now doing rattay tourney to improve my master strikes and perfect parry timing. Right now I can do pull off like 75% perfect parry and can now pull off like 2 to 3 master strikes although 2 master strikes and some other combos are sometimes enough for the opponent's health meter to go down below half or surrender completely. Master strikes are surely very overpowered and takes a lot of practice to pull it off. Those who are saying this game is too hard is just utterly impatient. I mean when you play this game you have to practice your skill. This game is very unique. I get lost in it without any sense of time. This game is hands down the best mediaeval game I have played(or am playing right now) . I can't for KCD 2 to come out.
That's some beautful combat you did there. It's like Gothic, Risen and Elex, once you learn and practise, you get the flow of the combat, it's not like the rubbish Batman games where you combo press button when says which people seem to be used to. The slow down effect is a bit silly, liek they put it in for the cool kids but apart from that it's realistc, can be fun and very rewarding.
I once killed around 20 bandits and cumans when I accidentally rode into an abandoned town full of them. Many sets of armor and weapons were sold that day.
i wondered what would happen if i killed every NPC in rattay, so i saved the game and went on a rampage. After about 20 mins, every npc in rattay was dead.... only the lords live because they cant be killed. Now i wander around rattay, and there isnt a single npc left. They dont respawn! not even the guards^^
Hahahaha you scoundrel! I did the same but in Talmberg as I found out youcna actually carry a spear while mounted and it's awesome, I'll be doing a video of it a bit later!
When I was a noob starting the game a few days ago, I knocked a guard out in Talmberg and stole his knight armor which I used for a long time to great avail. 30 hours of gameplay later he's still patrolling the fucking castle walls with nothing but his underwear.
Aye, I made the mistake to pick it up on my first playthrough, which this video comes from, but sadly there was no potion to reset your skill points at that time. Made for some fun moments, though.
From my experience, the best way to fight is just standing in defence and riposting your opponent to death. It's kinda boring, but you're perfectly safe with this style.
man this combat system gives so much satisfaction when u manage fight like that, both striking and blocking/dodging strikes, like it would be in real life, i bet real duel with equal knights would last so long before the winner
but that doesnt mean anything that fight would end in 3 minutes. 2 knights vs each others, both tired. Unless the other is superhuman. But assume they are equal
Full plate isnt that heavy its around 25 kilos while today in the army you will carry around 50 kilos a knight would train 21 years to get learn horsemanship and get used to his armor and weapons and remember battles lasted for hours
1v1s are fun but when you are outnumbered the camera movements just ruins everything. I want to be able to turn my head around and block from sides, but it is nearly impossible, forcing you to backpedal until its 1v1 again. Even in unlocked camera it is so buggy you literally have no option to hit except whoever is in front of you and hope you don't get smashed from side. Yeah, keeping everyone in front of you makes sense in the matter of realism but AI trying to circle you also makes sense right? I should't be able to backpedal for tens of meters in a 1v3, and I should be able to turn my freaking head.
The stab when having sword and the Mace(Esp Bailiffs Mace) is truly the best in this game. Mace is of course the most effective agains heavy armor. When reaching high lvls in strength, vitality and main then you can oneshot a plate armored foe :D (with master strike that is*)
If there's one thing I dislike about this game is that Henry is way too quiet during combat. All enemies shout, taunt and swear like madmen but all our men can muster is a few fatigued grunts, yawn... It's especially weird because outside of combat Henry can be a sarcastic and even antagonistic son of b***, mocking and insulting people that piss him off, but in a struggle for dear life? He goes in a zen mode or something. Not that it matters or make the game worse or anything, but it is distracting after you notice it.
Wanna know how I dueled him? I walked up to him, crouched, ran around him and kept trying to Stealth kill him till I could press it long enough before he turned. I finally got it and I fucking stealth killed him, took his armor. Put it in a box and waited awhile, then picked it up after a few days and it was mine.
-returned to the custodian 9 heavily armoured cuman's ears taken from the same camp (two camps that were right next to eachother?) plus both leader's spurs yesterday - Felt like I was Ned fucken Stark using just a longsword against all of em and bringing em down one by one with finesse and precision. The combat is a mindgame aswell as a physical brawl, that's what's seriously great. Very strenuous on the mind to engage with multiple opponents at once if you allow it to happen - but all themore rewarding when you figure out a strategy and carve a path through them whilst countering, evading or blocking effectively! You may even notice an opponent/bandit with armour or a helmet which you choose not to target as he is more protected there AND you may want to sell it (if it's not better for you to equip) when you rightfully claim it from his person after defeating him - so you want it undamaged as much as possible from its current condition. Make profit. I have just over 39K on this game now just from that and increasing trade/speech skills. Mastered sword and defence at LVL 20 and have barely scratched story! This game is awesome, man. (Y) Keep working on it, Warhorse! Great first game! Some things about this game are downright revolutionary.

It actually takes a LOT of strength and skill to draw a bow to the point where the arrow can pierce someone’s skull and instantly kill them.
Again, I have to disagree. Anyway, it wasn't just ONE arrow, watch the video again and you'll see that I hit that guy at least THREE times in the face. Even if I don't kill kim or pierce his skull, his eyes and face would be completely destroyed.
I remember when I first met him, and didn't even have a plate armour. The duel lasted 10 real minutes
@Prole ́17 But thats boring
Perfection.
I fully agree. I enjoyed Elden Ring, but Kingdom Come is something special
Henry takes off his shield when goes to bed so in the morning you have to reequip it
I wouldn't call it realistic, just plausible. If you used your sword to parry like they show in the video, it would be blunted to hell and back and practically useless, if not broken. Knights didn't fight like that. But at least it makes 'sense', unlike those other examples you mentioned
And spears were so OP they didn’t finish the system and they’re still the best weapons.
God I remember playing this game and finding out hours later how to do those parry attack moves which made my experience thousands of times better. I love this game
once you have plate armour and a blunt weapon or heavy axe with shield you can take on atleast 4 cumans at once
I only fight in the nude.
no enemy can penetrate those balls of steel
You can do the same without shield and a Longsword. Kumans are not that heavy amored.
you dont need a blunt weapon or axe to beat cumans, and you certaintly dont need plate armour.
this game is pretty easy tbh
it helps alot obviously if you are really skilled at fighting then yeah its easy but if you have 3-4 enemies attacking your plate armour with a sword its going to less damage then a mace for example after progressing ive found Cumans are easy compared to brigands but my set up ive got Nuremberg armour with German bacinet, Heavy battle axe and shield and its quite easy plus i don't use a bow either
1:47 Oblivion's imperial city guard voice!
I do not envy the headache you will have when you wake, but for now sleep well and dream of large women.
Hahahahhaaha
Pff, tin can.
You were going easy on him.
I have been waiting...SO LONG...to finally see some competent combat gameplay for KCD. Thank you.
I'm glad I could be of assistance.
And he didn't even show case all the things you can do. You can also perform sword binds, dodges, and master strokes.
Ethan Metcalf I love the pommel strike!
Finally some player who is intelligent enough to undestand how the combat works :)
Thank you, be sure to check part 2 :) : th-cam.com/video/lXMHBXOKsWc/w-d-xo.html
Oh! I will do that :)

Great videos. I watched many of your videos.
I especially like that your videos are short and to the point.
gjsterp Thank you for the positive feedback.
1:30 gotta be the prettiest hit in a videogame ever
I like to break out the mace when I come up against someone in plate, the bonk when you crack their helm like a soft boiled egg is too good
I like how he begins to mess up more when you've hit him a few times.
Nice duel! Haha the guards voice sounds like the City Guards in Skyrim hahaha! 😂
Thank you for sharing this story with me.
I like the St Michael sword
For all people wandering:he dead? No. But it can happen. I was duelling the other knight (the coward) and just hit him once or twice over the shoulders. I thought the fight has just began... i tried stabing to his face. The idiot didnt block and had open face helmet... he collapsed in a brush and after a few seconds he was dead... so a duel with deadly weapons can be deadly, even if you there was no intention to kill. I didnt get the price and felt bad for killing the guy... but hey, thats part of it. Both agreed on using sharp bladed... just makes the game feel like the real deal even more:D
Knight: lets have a practice match until first blood!
Levi Skladby: *Stabs him in a face* Parry this, you filthy casual.
If that was me, I'd find a rock where I can stand but NPCs cannot climb it and rain an arrow at him.
Daaaaamnn he got knocked the fck out!
I’m getting this game once the new patch rolls in fixing the bugs. I can’t wait!
Tzeentch the bugs are really annoying, i have had cutscenes where the subtitle shows but not the video, cAn’t talk to characters, quest not updating itself, it’s really annoying when you have to restart because the game failS you
My god that was beautiful. Looks like it's something For honor tried but failed. I think I might get the game based on this vid alone.
These are not comparable. It's built around PvP, KCD's combat system ist built for PvE. That's why are there are combos in KCD. In For Honor it would be very frustrating to know that the other player has a guaranteed hit.
One of the most underrated games of all time
1:20 Wow! I'm russian and I'm surprised, that czechs have exact the same slur as we have. In the middle of Europe people use foul language as in Moscow, Samara, Vladivostok. Cultural exchange.
I showered him with arrows from my horse when i first saw him because i wanted his armor.
Totally thought you were going to pull out your bow and shoot him in the face repeatedly while walking backwards.
You gotta love this physics based combat. Not one game out there made this before.
LOL no it didnt, that was just physic flailing around arm swinging garbage. Not terrible, but nothing close to as this refined.
M&B is more focused on commanding an own Army and lead them on the field.
lol physics based my ass check out exanima
Ive never been so infuriated by a comment, bro even look at shitty old for honour, better than this
He left you no choice but to knock him out.
When doing a run-through, when you knocked them to the ground, back up and give them space to charge at you, then repost and jam the sword to their chest.
1:52 After a hit to the throat like that I just woulda been like "I submit. It ain't even that serious fam."
This game will always be on the top of my top 10 list. )
Edit: Also if any of the players can relate to me and still haven't reinstalled the game, it's my sincere request to them that they reinstall the game and start a new fresh playthrough.
You don't know the struggle of directional combat until you play Mount and Blade.
you’re a better man than me, i dueled him then won, then proceeded to stab him in the eye and stole his loot
"There's my friend the wayfaring knight" *Beats the shit out of him* lol
Ah the wayfaring knight, kicked my ass the 1st time I fought him so I choked him out and got my 1st set of armor.
It’d be cool if there was a “tackle” feature, like if you get knocked over and you’re losing the fight or your sword is knocked out of your hand you can tackle the enemy and stab them in a soft spot with your dagger or something along those lines.
That's a great idea.
There IS a tackle feature in this game.

Headcracker at the end was icing on the cake. Ahahaha
"The perfect duel" *hits him while he is laying down*
I am a bastard
@@GlarusGaming did the poor wayfaring knight dirty lol
The knight's accent sounds like an Imperial guard from Oblivion.
There should be a game like this but for samurai so we can show our inner weaboo
"Ray, If it's any consolation, you were right. Oh, and try not to be unconscious too long. It's like, super bad for you"
Damn you owned that dude and for the second time apparently. I’m looking forward to getting to grips with this game soon. I hope I’m half as handy with a sword as you.
This video along with the ones with Sir Radsig have made me realise that the venn diagram of VAs for KCD and Arma 3 is pretty much a circle.
I mean, both are Czech companies so they likely hire American actors based in Prague. And there isn't *that* much of them. But yeah, it was hard to unhear Miller, James and Adams at first, now it's the other way around :D
I just stood behind him, knocked him out then took his gear
He's a good source of your first Cuirass if you don't want to go map hunting.
Well, you're not a knight, so...
I just started watching your videos and they are well made keep it up 👍
Thank you, I'm trying :)
You just prove that a lot of people just suck at this game.
he also proved most people don't work for their skill and train for it. it takes training lmao
That's some beautful combat you did there. It's like Gothic, Risen and Elex, once you learn and practise, you get the flow of the combat, it's not like the rubbish Batman games where you combo press button when says which people seem to be used to. The slow down effect is a bit silly, liek they put it in for the cool kids but apart from that it's realistc, can be fun and very rewarding.
is this the voice actor from the arena in oblivion?
Shane Fales yes, he is.
*Stands over knight dead body and shouts* "YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT!"
I stabbed him once, and he gave up lol
Got Rekt with stek lolol
I see you trained a lot with Captain Bernard :D
LKVideos indeed
Real talk, doe training with Captain Bernard over and over again actually level you up or something?
+Game-Caliber
Train with him as much as you *can*
I once killed around 20 bandits and cumans when I accidentally rode into an abandoned town full of them.
Now just kill every npc in the entire map
Lies.. the guards keep spawning no matter how many you kill
When I was a noob starting the game a few days ago, I knocked a guard out in Talmberg and stole his knight armor which I used for a long time to great avail. 30 hours of gameplay later he's still patrolling the fucking castle walls with nothing but his underwear.
The guards just kept resoawning for me I killed about 30 and got bored
0:06 that's the notification sound of a Huawei phone ;)
Headcracker is op
Aye, I made the mistake to pick it up on my first playthrough, which this video comes from, but sadly there was no potion to reset your skill points at that time. Made for some fun moments, though.
Nice, how at the beginning he was able to block and counter your attacks, but then at 1:20 you start using combos and defeat him. Well done.
When i first met him, I accidentally killed him with four flawless combos, oops..
I forgot how much I loved this game. Please make another.
From my experience, the best way to fight is just standing in defence and riposting your opponent to death. It's kinda boring, but you're perfectly safe with this style.
That basically what I do but with the boar park so you can charge at them.
Damn, you're perfect blocks are on point, very nice!
man this combat system gives so much satisfaction when u manage fight like that, both striking and blocking/dodging strikes, like it would be in real life, i bet real duel with equal knights would last so long before the winner
the average knight in full plate is able to fight 3 minutes before getting tired.
but that doesnt mean anything that fight would end in 3 minutes. 2 knights vs each others, both tired. Unless the other is superhuman. But assume they are equal
Bullshit. 3 minutes is probably average for peasant. 10 minutes at least.
ROFL guys.... I was ROFL when he said "Jebat" ...it's mean "F*uck It!" in Czech :D
I fucking love this game.
There's no such a thing as a perfe... Mother of god!
The stab when having sword and the Mace(Esp Bailiffs Mace) is truly the best in this game.
Mace is of course the most effective agains heavy armor. When reaching high lvls in strength, vitality and main then you can oneshot a plate armored foe :D (with master strike that is*)
The scenery is so realistic its making me miss summer
If there's one thing I dislike about this game is that Henry is way too quiet during combat. All enemies shout, taunt and swear like madmen but all our men can muster is a few fatigued grunts, yawn... It's especially weird because outside of combat Henry can be a sarcastic and even antagonistic son of b***, mocking and insulting people that piss him off, but in a struggle for dear life? He goes in a zen mode or something.
Not that it matters or make the game worse or anything, but it is distracting after you notice it.
You are getting good at sword play, I'm still spending most of my time learning from captain bernard!
this game is precious
"perfect duel"
0 master strikes, 0 Feints, only three combos.
"What's the matter, come on"
Sounded a bit Wes Johnson, that did.
What's the matter, getting tired?!
And this is why i love kingdom come deliverance
This game is just like skyrim u need to play really long to be perfect
Wouldn't say very long but yes you need to be determined and patient in order to get good at this game especially when training with captain Bernard
No no no, I'm skyrim you just have to press attack over and over again.
Dan Bruuu Fully agree mate.
I fought mudcrab more fiercer than you!

The hit at 1:26 was super juicy
I strangled this guy early in game for his gear, so I cannot practice with anyone serious now :(
M Von Drak he respawns. All wayfarers do. With no memory of you killing him.
A beautiful game, in which the creators put a lot of work.
